The Dusk of Autumn

Dreamy, late autumn days at the a-frame and off-grid cabin. Working on small DIY renovations, preparing for winter, honing in on cozy recipes, foraging and gathering the final harvests of the season from my garden in the woods.

The intro to this truly fed my soul. Your videos always speak so much to me, but this one in particular was so especially enchanting. Each year as I get older, I become more and more aware of how fleeting each season is, and as you said, it is a reminder of time passing. I always feel saddened by the end of autumn and mourn the loss of my most favorite colors scattered along tree line, rivers, roads and forest floors. I have always been keen on reminding myself that empty branches, frost bitten ocean shores and the muffled hush of land covered in snow is a time to appreciate and welcome with open arms. We're really lucky to live over here on the East Coast.

Ally, Your opening for this video is absolutely beautiful. It should be published. You are a poet, a hard working young woman, and so willing to tackle new things that would appear daunting to most. And you and Kyle are just perfect in every way I can see. I enjoy your videos immensely, and Trout and Coffee videos. God Bless you both from an old woman. Love to you both, as well.

Again, the stove!! I am drawn back to those days growing up on LI w the little 3" cast iron horse dad brought into our '32 Cape Cod I grew up in in the '70s til the '90s. Don't forget to keep a little pot of water on top to keep the air hydrated. Mum used to put dried herbs and rose petals or some pine needles in and the scent was simply heavenly! I said it in previous vids, I could just pop a JiffyPop & watch videos about wood burning stoves...I joke w hubs that I'm probably the cheapest date he's ever had🤣🤣 ~Love that things are working out w the cabins. And I understand completely the cleansing, journaling, and synching w the seasons and pulls of the moon. My grandmother was a native American and my aunts have passed some of her knowledge and "earth options" down. I truly appreciate the time you've taken to learn about the homeopathic options and how you're not being wasteful of natural resources. **Caveat for those who may be expecting: please read up on herbs that you choose to ingest as some have been known to possibly induce labor. As for the mindset cards, I've been making my own for years. It's positive affirmations and positive vibe. I used to make them by hand w a calligraphy pen and discarded parchment stock. I used to give them in packs of 5 or 10 at showers and graduations. ~Best to you 🎉 P.S. where did you get the moon milk? Is there a cow we haven't been introduced to?🤣

@BathtubLovingGuy Agree. I have been at my school for 19 years, and about 3 years ago I started a little side project of finding out when the discipline referrals increase. For the past 3 years, on average, they increase around the week leading up to a full moon. There is an average of an increase of between 8 to 10 discipline referrals on those two weeks. Now, I'm not sure if it's just me, (I'm not a mood scientist (is there even such a thing?😂) nor do I play one on TV, but I've even changed my mindset to not expecting it to happen. But the data doesn't seem to lie😕. But I still keep a positive vibe... detention duty or not😊

I wonder, if in so many years gone by and the opportunities been available to me, I would only hope that I would be as adventurous and self sufficient as you. Sending you peace, love and a huge thank you. Give Kyle a hug from me and you both have an amazing Thanksgiving!

I appreciate the honesty with the garden! Sometimes videos can seem devastating when our produce might not be perfect… but really and truly that’s gardening in a non toxic way. There’s no perfect situation for every garden. Helps ones like me, trying to be patient and work within means to still feel appreciative for the produce that does come up even if it’s only a little.

Second time going through the video because I really enjoyed it the first time. 😊 And when you talk about learning a new skill set, it reminds me of one of my fifth grade safety patrols that I met up with last week who's part of a crochet club that one of the teachers hosts once a week after school. This young lady made an absolutely beautiful tote purse. I am so proud of her, and she was so proud of it. It is so soft, yet sturdy, and her stitches are absolutely beautiful. This is only her first year learning and she really took off. I can see you making some holders for some of your plants.🎉 Go for it😊 You've also encouraged me to start a small window herb garden and see what happens. Thank you🎉
