Hey Jen, Im doing good, just getting ready for the festivities with my grandkids, it's all about them atm but I will have my days to myself this week so am going to relax with some candles, a good book & a hot chocolate tonight. I make a lot of soups & stews during the colder months & I also find I bake more, I havent bought a loaf for ages, I like making my own.. the house smells so good & nothing like butter on warm fresh bread. Growing up, we would have that same rice porridge. Being in the southern US, we don’t call it porridge, but it is so tasty; I still make it. Any leftover milk tastes like horchata too. Also a delicious treat.

I absolutely understand about life being very challenging lately to where this Christmas I haven't been able to "keep up" decorations like I normally do😢. I thought it was just me putting a little "guilt " in my heart about not being able to do so mentally this year so I felt relief Only for the fact that maybe others feel the same this year as well. Everything I do right now has to be of a simpler approach so that I can maintain my emotional and mental health. Hi Jen, this vlog was so calm and relaxing, thank you again, your winter looks beautiful, it is a heatwave in Sydney Australia today, 43 degrees Celsius which I think is 109 degrees Fahrenheit. I stayed indoors all day with the air conditioning on while I cooked all day, slow cooker on for dinner and pre made the Xmas sweets to be refrigerated till Xmas, rum balls, white Xmas and Rocky Road. Also your cake looks amazing and your beef stew I would love the recipe for if you are happy to share it, I love stews and this looks so yummy. With love ❤️ Johanne

the darkness must be hard on you. In Canada it gets dark at 4 pm, so I understand all the darkness and like you know it isn’t forever. We still do not have any snow yet, which is quite amazing. Your dinner you cooked looked amazing and the beautiful cake.
