I love Exploring's SCP readings. But NOTHING beats his H.P readings. I enjoy them even more than the complete collection audible.

HP a Lovecraft is fun because his entire body of work is defined by fear of change which usually means fear of new things but also old houses and penguins.

One of my favorite bits of this story is that Armitage is one of Wilbur's penpals and actually comes to visit him in Dunwich once. It makes way more sense why Armitage would let him in to read the Necronomicon, and why Armitage so quickly becomes a believer in what Wilbur might do with unfettered access to it. Also props to Dr. Morgan for insisting on repping the .700 Nitro Express, lol

Listened to this on the podcast feed on Halloween, and it's wild how much of Lovecraft's horror boils down to "Gosh but these guys were stinky! Stinky like you wouldn't believe!"
@BlertaPupu

Yeah I can't help to think the same. "You can't believe how ✨otherwordly horrible his face looks✨!" 🤣
These are always so long and a bit hard to understand with the writing style, but that's my favorite part about them. It gives me a lot to imagine while I'm listening to it. It makes it the best stories to listen to while playing Minecraft. That's why I'm always down for audiobooks. The way they're read here is amazing. The added voice acting recently really elevates the experience too. Nice as always.

Classic story, strong narrator. Cool artwork.
It is 0° outside and perfect to bundle up and listen to this, thank you so much Mangg!!
One of my personal favorites among Lovecraft's works! I absolutely adore this story!
i’m so glad you’ve put this out, I’m on chapter 4, but to have someone read it out in the proper cadence is so much easier to dive into. Thanks so much for me: 1:22:56
Listened to it on spotify and I think this is my favorite Lovecraft story that I've heard so far. Love Mangg's voice acting here as well 🤘
You have a greatly developed skill in reading and narrating stories.
This is probably my favourite Lovecraft story. The combination of creeping and growing horror mixed with an element of scientific discovery, then throw in a small group of brave men willing to stand against the evil and a payoff at the end as the horror is met and fought. Thank you for reading this one.
This was my second Lovecraft book to read. Absolute classic.
So I listen to these as I fall asleep at night and fell asleep roughly 10 min in and woke near the end hearing "HUUUNGH UHHHH" I was so confused and disoriented
Probably one of my favorite stories from howard phillips lovercraft.
I love the fact that since Alhazred was crazy and wirshipping the Old Ones, he wrote from their perspective and thus calls their reign 'summer' and mankind 'winter.' such a subtle detail in a book within a book within a sidepiece of a story supposedly all about Wilbur and the mad shit he does, but it just makes this whole world feel so much more alive.

I know I’m not supposed to but I can’t help but feel a little bad for the monster near the end. At the edge of death, pleading for help from his absent father, never meant to exist in the first place. It’s a tragic thing being unwillingly yanked out of nonexistence into a world that couldn’t accept you. You really nailed the delivery
Oooooh hype! This is one of my favorites!
I very much appreciate your amazing work. I love to listen to how you tell a story, and it helps me get through the graveyard shift at work.

This was the first story I read from HP Lovecraft back in 96 in a book together with The Call of Cthulhu. It still remains an incredible suspenseful and clever piece of writing. It also seems like it could be something that could be easily adapted for television.

*Spoilers for the end* I was thinking the invisible monster would sound like an excuse for a film to save money and go "the monster is invisible!' - except it was written some time before that was really a thing.
