After finishing the video, I am fairly certain that main character's armor / battle outfit is actually pieces of a dog trainer's suit - the padding they use when training attack dogs.
"I reject your reality and substitute my own!" One of the BEST LINES I have ever heard in film history!
Richard Moll owns that haircut...he should brand it as a "Mollet"
You and the RLM guys make this movie seem like a lot of fun.
When you said the film was directed by seven directors, I expected this to be one of those situations where the producer kept firing directors (then later hiring back previously fired ones). Surprise ending, I guess.

"Having a nigtmare... a sexy nightmare" Of course, the title is ♂DUNGEON MASTER ♂ after all
Well, considering it's supposed to be a gallery of criminals I would guess that the werewolf could be Peter Stubbe. He was convicted of witchcraft and murder in the guise of a wolf in 16th century Germany. He's the subject of the, I guess it's more of a pamphlet "The Damnable Life and Death of Stubbe Peeter." It's one of the better documented werewolf cases. I'd give mad props to the crew were this really the case.
Cushion armour: protection +0 weight +1 cozyness +6
"I reject your reality and substitute my own!" Finding out that line originally came from this movie and not Mythbusters was weird as hell. Adam Savage said it better, imho.
I loved this movie, it was called Ragewar over here in the UK, it had a really cool poster as well. Thanks for covering this film.

+Jake Colt And here in Germany it was called "Herrscher der Hölle" which means ""Ruler of Hell" But unlike in the UK, here in Germany but also France etc. most Movies especially back then got a different Name instead of just translating it's Original Name to the Language. Though, in some cases changing the Name is necessary because it wouldn't make Sense or sound off in the other Language, especially if the Name is some Saying or Phrase that is known by everyone in the Country of Origin but not elsewhere
"This movie was written as an anthology". Well, that makes a whole lot more sense. It does look like a compilation of crazy oneshots you try to pull off when the main DM is taking his deserved vacation. I'll go on a limb and say I kinda miss that. Everyone's trying to make boring stuff for 2,5 hours instead of pulling something original and trying short stories. I mean, Creepshow was a thing, right? "Hey look, they're filming an S Club 7 video". Holy shit, THAT EXISTED. It burned itself so fast I thought it was somewhat of a fever dream I had as a pre-teen. Dammit, the late 90's were a trip.

I came across by chance years ago and have watched it multiple times since. It never fails to entertain.
lol the baby shark part my 3 yr old daughter came running from the other room “WHOS SINGING BABY SHARK?!”
I actually picked this up to rent based on a review/synopsis in Jeff Rovin's ENCYCLOPEDIA OF MONSTERS ! Although the VHS copy I rented started after the opening credits with Paul repairing computers.
lol, "now they never gonna get that smell out of the fish!" - heard that joke, or a variation, yesterday... It´s great. :)
Great example of a movie I picked up just because of the cover in a video store and ended up loving....
Ok, the Baby Shark gag was easily the best part of this video, I laughed so hard at it. That said I need to track this movie down. I had heard of it, but haven't seen it.
It’s sad how so many people think Adam Savage cape up with that quote. This movie is fucking nuts.
There's a sequel to this available to watch now, from an unreleased 80s anthology called "Pulse Pounders", which also has a short Trancers story that is set between the first two movies. I think it's up on Full Moon's streaming service.

3:03 young teenage me's favourite dirty joke, that got me into so much trouble! Good to see it revived.
W.A.S.P is the only reason I ever even heard of this movie and, yep, I watched it mainly to see them. Plus, I was huge into D&D and, yep, the title intriqued me. Just about any 80's fantasy movie is harmless fun. Pretty much anything goes in these movies, in terms of story, acting, production aesthetic, and special FX.

I'd have used the John Candy as the devil from "Planes, Trains and Automobiles" photo. Oh well.
Oh gosh, I think I saw this years ago and forgot all about it. The only bits that looks familiar was the dragon fight and the bit where he zaps the crystal staff to make the zombies vanish.
The puppet, Ratspit, was also in the 1986 movie Troll. John Carl Buechler, the designer of the puppet, work o both movies.

Shark Baby theme LOL at 6:50 mark this looks like an awesome movie
This movie is sooooo, 80s! love it.! Great decade. It looks like it had several directors...all over the place & wacky , a disjointed anthology, but I suppose it’s watchable. I remember WASP!
Good to know that 7 directors directing 1 movie wasn't what I expected.
Saw it in the theaters (the old triplex next to Garden State Plaza). I was just talking about it with a friend a few weeks ago. I said this should get a remake.
I always thought of this movie as someone's adaptation of a Choose Your Own Adventure book.

@@boboboy8189 For the quality and quantity of videos that are put out here I think this channel deserves MUCH more recognition. Especially when channels of mopey kids showing off their butts in skinny jeans get millions of subscribers and views...
I understand that each director didn't have a lot to work with, but even extending each segment by as little as 2 or 3 minutes would've given them some room to breathe and helped them each to stand out. Also, I think CAL is a serious deus ex machina. Even having just one segment where she malfunctioned or Mestima stole her would've helped to ramp up the tension towards the climax. Anyway, great video as always dude!

Thanks! The minions took it away from him for the stone giant segment but he got it back before he needed it so it really changed nothing lol. The thing was, the devil wanted to best Paul with his "new magic" so if he had to taken away permanently, it would have been the devil cheating or something. (although that was what they ended up doing in the end anyway)

Say what you want about this movie, but at least it gave Richard Moll a chance to perfect his Two-Face voice before "Batman: TAS" auditions.

This was funny as hell, I loved the 80’s!
Funny thing you mentioned Adam Savage cause he talked about this movie on Mythbusters
I never knew that this was the title of this film. Cal reminded me of Glitch from the tv series "Re-Boot", which was made by Mainframe Productions, the same company that rendered Beast Wars Transformers
Really hoping one day this guy can do a video on my favorite guilty pleasure movie "Ninja Assassin" with Rain, Naomi Harris and Sho Kosugi
There's a lost 30 min sequel to this movie that was on a shelved Empire Pictures compilation entitled "Pulse Pounders Vol. 1". Lee Ving from the punk band FEAR was in it. The other two short films (the original "Trancers 2" and an adaptation of Lovecraft's "The Evil Clergyman" starring Jeffrey Combs) surfaced a few years ago finally, but still no word on "The Dungeonmaster Part II". I hope it shows up at some point.
This movie is stuck in my memories. It's bad but definitely have the charm of being bad but good. Or epically stupid.. take your pic.. But W.A.S.P. best moment ever.
I remember this movie as a kid, and I was bored to tears.
I still have my vhs copy of this!
Yes one of the Goodest bad flicks!
In a movie that features the devil as a character you would expect the 7 challenges to have something to do with the 7 deadly sins.
That explains it. Was thinking, I don't remember it opening like that on dad's old VHS of this movie. Cut out of the American release, dang.
Full Moon is great & I was raised on their output but Empire was the real jewel, considering what they gave to the Genre. Re-Animator alone
This really feels like someones fever dream that's played a lot of DnD XD
did you know that their was going to be a dungeon master 2 as part of an anthology of short films called pulse pounders, the other two was hp lovecraft's the evil clergyman which was an adaptation of the rats in the walls and trancers 2 which was found and went under as trancers 2.0 city of lost angels.
Thanks for another great blast from the past video, Cecil. Yes, I was one of those guys who got tricked by the Dungeonmaster title and rented the film back in the 1980's. The premise sounded so cool too, but what a disappointment.
Seven directors? The entire AV club.
