Thank y'all so much for watching. This Project is Dedicated to both Alicia Allain Schneider, and also Toby Keith Covel. Today marks One Year since Alicia Schneider Passed Away, alongside also Two Weeks since Toby passed away. They both played a big role in keeping Dukes Alive... Toby was in "Hazzard in Hollywood," and Alicia co-hosted Bo's Extravaganza with John. May they both Rest in Peace. 🙏❤️ Also, incase you missed the other 2 videos in this series: • Interview w/ John Schneider: Talking Dukes of Hazzard, Masked Singer, & MORE! 🔗 kzread.info/dash/bejne/oqCO0sueerSxaZc.html • The Dukes of Hazzard: 45 Years Later w/ John Schneider! Hey Chunky, just wanted to say that I'm enjoying your old GTA series with the Dukes. I always had the idea of a "General Grant" as a rival for the Duke Boys' General Lee. Thst said, I kinda feel like a Ford Mustang would fit better IMO. Having it be another charger feels too similar to me. That said, I'm really glad that you're making content that you enjoy. And congrats on getting not one, but TWO interviews with Mr. Schneider! Thanks again, and much love from Oregon.

Also, R.I.P. to Alicia & Toby. It's sad that a lot of folks who were instrumental to the series have gone and departed from this world. But from what I'm seeing, it sounds like the world didn't deserve their goodness. My condolences.

Thanks chunky for keeping the Dukes of hazard alive. I’m 50 now and remember watching the first episode like it was yesterday. I actually only live about 20 miles north of Covington Georgia. I’ll always remember on Friday nights lying in front of the TV, recording the Dukes on a cassette tape recorder (no vcr then) just so I could listen to the show throughout the week till the next friday. I’d drive my parents crazy. Good Times!

I love how accurate you are with this video it's awesome dude I got to say in my opinion you're the best dukes of Hazzard KZreadr out there even though I've been watching you since your GTA days I love this content way more And I love how Ben jones still makes dukes of hazzard merchandise I recently read an article about actors defending dukes and I love how Ben Jones said I'll fight them till hell freezes over and I'll fight them on thin ice which is exactly what he's doing and I love that he's doing that cuz that means generation kids like me get to enjoy the dukes of Hazzard, I did get to see it on cmt. heck I even went to Walmart and bought the general Lee model before they took it off the shelf. every Sunday I got home from church I would watch The dukes of Hazzard on cmt, I even used to watch the marathons that thet put on my brother who is now deceased now I have memories with him I'd watch it with him on late nights I have my little hot wheel it looks similar to a general Lee but it wasn't even a charger but I still enjoyed playing with it while watching the show. chunkey all I got to say is thank you for keeping this alive. What’s crazy to me is NC was able to move so swiftly to get the flag cancelled but yet did nothing to address the real issue which is the guns. They literally looked at a guy with a gun in one hand and a flag in the other said clearly the flag is the problem, let’s take that away. The flag while often used as a hate symbol (and really doesn’t belong on anything other than a General Lee) is not the weapon and wasn’t used to kill those ppl, the gun was and honestly that should’ve been the focus. It would’ve saved Dukes from cancellation and actually might have made a difference in mass shootings

  • @ChunkeyMonkey40

    @ChunkeyMonkey40

Neither the gun or the flag is the problem… Neither of those kill people without a crazy person involved. The real issue is mental health, there is a major mental health crisis in this country that nobody wants to talk about.

I thought it was stupid they canceled the show after the shooting in SC. I was in my 20's when the NAACP started boycotting SC over the confederate flag being on the state capitol and thought at the time leave history alone and I still feel that way. today our history is being wiped out all over the country. I'm 47 and born and raised in NC. I never knew about the collector cars since I haven't bought little cars since I was a teenager. I do have the second complete season of the show..

Can we ask u questions here? I have tried to get this to John for about 2 yrs now, can u pass it on to him & give me ur thoughts? I wonder why they didnt have Waylon be or do the Balladeer (Narration) for the 2 movies? Did he just happened unavailable, out on tour, bad health? That would have been a great question for John? Also part 2, Why wasnt Jeff Altman (Huey Hogg) brought back for the 2 movies? Especially since Sorrell Booke (Boss Hogg) has passed, it seems like it would have tied in better with the story line & still had a bit more nostalgia? (Not taking away from Jimmy Best being the new Boss, but he could have battled Huey for it? Like showing up with fake will saying Boss had deeded him Hazzard County, thats my story-line) I have no email or contact info for John but I bet he would have liked my 2 questions, can u pass on to him? That would have been another great question for John? Thanks & I really appreciate ur channel, new subscriber here gonna benge watch it all, Thanks Arkansaw Dave, I had hoped that when they do these reunion tv shows that nostalgia would always be a big part of it especially for the fans, having both Jeff & Waylon would have helped more with that, ur thoughts? That would have also continued the legacy. PS- Was Chip Mayer (Vance) ever involved or a part of the Dukes Fest, alongside Byron (Coy) u think the 2 would have been together but he wasnt mentioned, (RIP b4 2011) any reason? Thanks as an avid Dukes fan who literally grew up watching the show, fans have often asked these questions, thanks..Finally bringing back Jeff Altman (Huey) thanks for all the 411..

We only had an hour for the interview so a lot of questions were cut due to time sake, however I will hopefully be interviewing John again in the near future

And not to mention, after he bought out Gary Schneider, he destroyed the car. Lee One no longer exists, he built a replica of lee one with some parts from the car.... he sold every body panel, the doors, roof of the car... everything that makes it a general Lee

  • @brianpair2934

@ChunkeyMonkey40 From what I've been told and have heard and read. Travis pulled the car around to shows as it was but kids were picking the lead paint off the car and it just got to be too much so he eventually sold it to a guy who sold it to a man in Florida who hired Travis to rebuild it back to its original pre jump state. The doors on LEE1 were not the original anyway, and neither were the wheels. I heard the top is original bc a guy water sanded it to uncover the original painted flag. Yeah he had to replace panels and tons of other pieces of the car to get it back to it's original state. Concrete had been just poured into the trunk to level the weight for the jump so you know all that had to be replaced. But the guy later sold the car on the Barrett-Jackson auto auction for around $110,000 to golfer Bubba Watson. Bubba had it for a few years and when the country lost it's mind due to the flag Bubba put out a tweet saying he was going to paint over the flag. But in reality, he sold the car to a guy in Texas. Flag is still on it. If you talk to John again ask him about it bc I'm just going on what I heard and read. Not trying to argue. I'm a fan of your channel. Keep up the good work

@@ChunkeyMonkey40 as much as what you said is true, sadly there really wasn't much left of the original Lee 1 anyway, as it seemed pretty much stripped of any usable parts to use to build subsequent GLs after it made that iconic jump on Nov. 11, 1978. I've also read where more of the original body could've been salvaged, but for whatever reason, wasn't. The bottom line always comes down to the almighty dollar, and no doubt TB made as much as he possibly could at the expense of preservation. As a Dukes fan since the show's inception, I too believe Lee 1 exists as a recreation, not a restoration.

This is a great video, impeccably researched and presented. With one glaring exception. You mentioned the 2008 Dukes Fest took place during a recession, but then showed a picture of Obama for some reason. The Dukes Fest took place June 28-29th and Obama wasn’t even elected until five month later, and didn’t take office until 2009. You posted a picture of the wrong President. The president at the time was George W Bush

  • @ChunkeyMonkey40

Obama is the face of that recession. Just as how Biden is the face of Covid. Democrats do that shit, they ruin the economy and blame republicans for it.... but if you've done your research on the 2008 recession, all the policies passed that led to that recession were all written and passed by the democrats. So no, I didn't show the wrong president. Obummers cronies are who created the 2008 recession, and those same democrat politicians are also the masterminds behind the current recession we have been in since covid. It may have started under bush, but it was policies passed by democrats that ruined the economy. I'm glad you enjoyed the video, as you can see I am a big time history buff. I do a lot of research on every aspect of my videos. I also am very into politics, and have researched this stuff in depth as well.

To build on that.... you said 2008 was an election year. That is correct, also the peak of the 2008 recession... which gave the media the opportunity to try spinning it and making Bush look bad and Obama like a savior. Now, what was 2020? An election year! Also the peak of the Rona. Which gave the media the opportunity to try spinning it and making Trump look bad and Biden like a savior.

@@ChunkeyMonkey40man I love the Dukes of Hazzard and enjoy your videos but man have you got your politics backwards. 2008 was the height of the recession meaning the events leading up to the recession happened while Bush was president. And while I’m sure there were things bush did at the end of his presidency to help fix the economy. The guy in charge of the country during the events in which the economy improved was all Obama, why do u think he won re-election. He is the face of the recession but as the guy who fixed it not the guy who broke it. And it’s the same with Covid Trump was president at the start of the pandemic and it’s his mismanagement of the country that lead to the economy we have now. When Biden came into office he has handed a dogs dinner of an economy and of course ppl were quick to try and blame it all on him despite the fact he had only just started. And while Biden is by no means a great president (I honestly don’t expect him to win re-election) he’s still the one who will get credit for America recovering from the pandemic

There was ONE thing missing from this documentary I was hoping you would cover. Did that douche bag Bubba Watson follow through with his "happy to cave to the woke crowd" threat of destroying his General Lee by removing the rebel flag on the roof? In 2015 he was almost beside himself in woke smugness promising to destroy an original car. Many of us offered to buy it from him before he could destroy it but as far as I know, he didn't sell it to anyone. This was a great documentary BTW. I still get emotional when it comes to the Dukes. I grew up watching the show when they aired live and still have some of the memorabilia I had as a kid..

Bubba Watson never did paint over the rebel flag, he ended up selling the car to a private owner down south. Lee One was at bo's extravaganza last year, i showed a picture of john, tom, and byron standing beside it. Rebel flag still on roof. Granted, lee 1 is no longer lee 1. Travis Bell destroyed that car when he took all the original parts off and replaced everything, it's a replica of Lee one, the only thing left thats original to it are the chassis and driveshaft. Everything else is from another car.
