The Late Night Flight cocktail is named after Thomas Fitzpatrick's adventures and legendary antics. In 1956, after a bet that Thomas could not make it from New Jersey to the Heights in 15 minutes. Thomas drove to Jersey, stole a Cessna plane, flew it to 191st, and landed on the street with enough time left to have a beer before 3:00 am. Two years later, Thomas did the same thing when a bar patron did not believe that he had done it previously. This is a sweet berry-flavoured cocktail with a nice foamy head. LATE NIGHT FLIGHT
.5 oz/15 ml Kahlua
1.5 oz/45 ml Vodka
.5 oz/15 ml Chambord
5 Blackberries
1 Egg white
1 Barspoon Simple Syrup
Method
1. Add the Kahlua to the bottom of the cocktail glass.
2. In a seperate shaker tin add the berries, chambord, and 1 oz/30 ml vodka.
3. Muddle the berries.
4. Shake with ice for 5-8 seconds.
5. Finstrain and layer ontop of the kahlua.
6. In a seperate container add the egg white, simple syrup and .5oz/15 ml vodka.
7. Shake with out ice to emulsify for 15 seconds.
8. Layer on the top of the drink.
