Alex Smith created the Mastodon cocktail, a split-base Tiki cocktail that uses Bourbon and aged Rum as the base spirits. However, Maraschino Liqueur and Liocor 43 modified the base, and the addition of the citrus flavours makes this cocktail stand out. Try it out, and let me know what you think.

MASTODON
1.5 oz/45 ml Bourbon
1.5 oz/45 ml Aged Rum
.5 oz/15 ml Licor 43
.5 oz/15 ml Maraschino Liqueur
3 oz/90 ml Pineapple Juice
1 oz/30 ml Passionfruit Nectar
.5 oz/15 ml Lime Juice
2 Dashes Peychaud's Bitters
METHOD
1. Add all of the ingredients to the shaker.
2. Shake with crushed ice for 5-8 seconds.
3. Add crushed ice to Hurricane Glass or larger.
4. Free pour the mixture.
4. Garnish with a Lime Wedge.

One thing about tiki cocktails is they need so many ingredients to make. Then there's the part where you can't always find something to make it.

Oh yes! Tiki is my thing and I've strayed away from it for a while now. This will be a great comeback! Seems I have all the same alcohols apart from the Bulleit. I might replace it with Wild Turkey 101. Thank you for the recipe.
