    IIRC the imperium uses human skull symbols as it’s a unmutated skull and a symbol for ‘pure’ humanity; all untainted and unmutated humans, from us to abhumans like ratlings and Ogryns, to Emps and the Primarchs, we all have a vaguely sameish looking human skulls, unlike the xenos, mutants or the warptainted. We may have tattoos, different skin colour, different hair colour or whatnot, but we all have a human skull Personally I think it makes the cyborg skull of the admech more humorous as it’s objectively less human

    My personal headcanon and screw you if you don't agree with it, it's my headcannon. Settra and Oxyotl (Doom Skink) are hanging out in the Warp, slaughtering deamons together looking for a way out. Both are amazing characters who wouldn't let a silly little thing like the end of the world be getting their way of survival. But they haven't been seen in AOS yet so I like to think they are trapped in the Warp together

    Two things. One: Settra is one of about 3-4 characters that has fully earned his arrogance. Two of the others being Nagash and Teclis. Two: If Nagash is the Second most evil, and the Scaven Race is the most evil... who or what is in 3rd place? Dark Elves? (Malekith is responsible for a LOT of bad stuff) Demons? (They are basically evil incarnate) Chaos Dwarves? (Don't know much about them, but they sound very evil) Some Vampire? (Their Vampires, need I say more?) Bretonnia? (Had to get this in there)

    Fun fact on how the tomb kings magic. They basically had to teach themselves magic , they weren’t Ike the elves so we’re tutored by the slann who in turn where taught by the old ones, or how the people of Cathay were taught by the dragons. The Nehekharians learned through sheer trial and error and also trapping magic elementals and interrogating them which is how they learned the lords of death and light. Their personal lore, the lore of nehekhara is the summation of combining all of their knowledge and the best way they found to use it was to use their gods as a proxy/catalyst for the magic so the lore is super intricate and ritualistic as it’s basically half spell half religious ceremony since they Judy rigged their magic system together.

    That was a great video, thank you so much! Also the debate of if Machiavelli wrote 'The Prince' ironically or unironically is a very old debate, but i personally believe that, as he was trained as a lawyer and was obsessed with the Roman Republic, he wrote the book in a way that if you took it at face value it appears as a support for a king or dictatorial leader BUT it does not align with his personal views. Also, he attributes the book to the Medici family AFTER they kick him out for having friends who were part of an uprising plot, which can be read as a very tongue in cheek 'fuck you, i don't want to come back even if you offer because you took my beautiful Florencencian Republic and ruined it.' Taking his words at face value makes it appear as supporting all he writes, but...No, he was a Roman REPUBLIC fanboy - he cosplayed in a toga and wrote prose about his journeys into classicalism.

    Personally, I'm of the mind that since the _Discourses on Livy_ was both written and published after _The Prince_ then _The Prince_ was either an experiment on Machiavelli's part, a deliberately incomplete thesis statement on the nature of political realism, or both. _The Prince_ routinely sets the tone that hard times require hard men to deal with them, and that the political idealism of the old philosophers must give way to pragmatism, because a good but ineffectual ruler is arguably worse than an immoral but effective ruler. Yet there is an tonal insistence that these are measures that should be only be carried out because they are necessary; that often misquoted line that is the foundation of the so-called Machiavellian philosophy goes 'It is better to be feared than loved, if you cannot be both.' To suggest that it is a philosophical pit trap meant to ensnare the wicked as some suggest is a bit of a stretch, because if anything it makes the cruel and wicked more effective and weeds out the incompetents who cannot go beyond the face value of Machiavelli's statements, but it also serves the dual purpose of teaching the common man to recognize that leadership often demands great and terrible things, and that they must temper their idealistic expectations while also being able to recognize when enough is enough -and I have had it with these monkey-fighting snakes in this Monday-to-Friday senate- . _The Discourses_ even makes a point to reference the heavy-handed and immoral approach of _The Prince_ as a necessary to evil to secure an effective regime, but that this must always be carried out in the interest of the greater good of the state and its people, championing the political idealism that _The Prince_ criticizes as an aspiration that should always be followed through on even if it must be occasionally set aside for the sake of pragmatic realism. Of course, nothing short of summoning Niccolò Machiavelli from the dead would settle the debate once and for all.

    1:03:23 its worth noting that the trio of dark elves in the Rise or Nagash series have the same names and rough personalities of the trio of dark elves that start the War of Vengeance (or the War of the Beard if you’re a thin blooded elgi)…but the War of Vengeance series ends with (or at least this happens sometime in it) i think one of those dark elves dying and the other two for sure becoming Watchers of the Forest or leaving Malekith’s service and becoming some kind of forest fae nature guardians, where in Nagash’s books he kills them, so its a continuity contradiction

    24:06 I do believe the regular skeleton warriors don't get mummification so they only remember how to fight, used bow and arrow, riding ontop skeletal horses and operate siege engines and remember their Tomb King. while the tomb guard got half mummified, they do still have the same stuff like above but their martial combat and loyalty to their Tomb King is strong

  • @skeith1543
    @skeith1543 Жыл бұрын

    While they can't feel, they still remember what that was like. It's a source of tragedy as they'll slip into moments of dementia, and order food or wine, and then when it arrives they'll just stare at it until it rots away as they don't know why they demanded it. Other times it'll drive them into rampages of boiling hate at being stuck in such bodies. Hence why they throw themselves into battle, it's one of the few things they can actually feel. Might also be why they occasionally are moved to help others who come to them with petitions of aid. There was the one tomb king who actually provided a cure so some disease or illness an empire man's wife had contracted. Also goes to prove they aren't evil monsters like Necromancy undead.

But after Collin dropped the bomb that the "Lady" created the Bretonians as a means to protect the pointy ears my mood soured. While I don't hate them like Colin does, I do have a STRONG distaste for them. Still want to see a Beginner to Expert on Brettonia headed by Collin though. Also, Tomb Kings Rule, Settra is goddamn awesome and I say he can beat pretty much everyone in a fight that isn't Gotrek(I still think he can do it, but Gotrek is such a force of nature I can't be certain) or Kroq-gar.

    Alcadizzar was raised in part by Neferata. His mother was sick and she would have had a stillbirth, and was visiting a shrine in Lahmia for the gods' intervention. Neferata, who founded the shrine to find desperate people who could become vampire agents of hers, heard the weak heartbeat of the baby boy and knew he would not live, , so Neferata (feeling kind for once, and being hit especially since she couldn't have children of her own) gave her blood as a part of an elixir to the mother. This made the mother and baby healthy, but in return Neferata decided that she couldn't part with 'her' boy. She planned, in Ottoman Empire fashion, to then have all of the heirs of the other Nehekaran cities grow up and be taught in Lahmia (the wealthiest and strongest city at this time). So Alcadizzar, and the other noble heirs, grew up in Lahmia and were fed Neferata's blood in elixirs for their 'health', which extended their lifespans and made them stronger/faster/etc. than most humans.
