It definitely seems like the dreadquake has an effective range of around 300 or so before it starts actually hitting shots. I think you should have moved it up further to right behind that hill next to your point, where it could get a little closer and still be safe from cannons. Its like it has the massive range so you want to sit at max range like you might with cannons or other mortars but its REALLY needs to get to within 300-250. Maybe it was just extreme coincidence but those two direct hits on the jade warriors attacking your point maybe 100-150 units closer than the enemy cannons and iron hail gunners feels significant, like theres some information to be gleaned by such a combat test.

Dreadquakes have an absurdly massive 120 calibration area, meaning that an "accurate" shot is going to come down in a 120 meter radius of where they were aiming. I think they're better for Land Battles than Domination because in a Land Battle, when they inevitably miss there's a higher chance for them to accidentially hit a different enemy unit.
@jabool560520 күн бұрын

Dreadquake is best used as a close-to-medium range support fire weapon, with fire at will disabled. For that reason it's best to tow it with a train, and then manual fire. That set-up will absolutely annihilate all infantry, but it's prohobitively expensive because CD already pay a lot for their core units.
@Gilgi20 күн бұрын

I only play land battle, but there dreadquake only feels feasible if on the RoR train. It doesn't get killed instantly by something like double bolt thrower and it maybe possible gets a bit more accurate from the chevrons. But it's also a huge risk due to the cost and the targeting gets janky when towed because it only fires when the cart on the back is facing the target.
@bortoo663417 күн бұрын
The thing is that the dradquake is mutch better at defending a position, where the oponent has to get his units its close together to capture a point. In that case, especially at 2/3 range or less, the dreadquake can do serious work as long as you aways target whatever has the most stuff close by, as even if it misses the shot, the os of it hitting something are pretty good. I've had games where I hot over 4k value on a dreadquake mortar, or 400+ kills on chaff kn chaff centric match ups.

You really need to select better targets for the dreadquake man, it looks like you let it target moving lords and moving units which is what resulted in those random misses. Meanwhile, the cathay cannons and gunners just gleefully shot away at your lines throughout most of the game before you finally cleaned them up. Don't blame the dreadquake, it is amazing at dealing with that exact kind of units. One or two misses do not matter if the next shot ends up wiping 70% of the unit.

I think the DQ Mortar forced Cathay to be on the offensive to invest in attacking your main objective and not hard push the third objective just by existing and through the few good hits it had. I agree the Rocket launcher probably would be better but with the misplay with the Iron Daemon its hard to say if you should have just gone without that unit and kept the DQ. to improve the mortar maybe its worth it to put a couple chevrons on the unit (though im not sure if that still improves the accuracy) or shooting from shorter range to improve the accuracy of the shots also targeting can get weird with units that are spread out due to being knocked around.
