This game has that spark of potential. Seven months ago i could barely see it. Now to me, it's clear as day. Flight honestly feels significantly better since the "alpha" but it's bitter sweet. The past with this game.. The threats, Legal issues and lies, mixed with very slow development might hinder the popularity and progress made. For now, i'm silently going to hope they prove us all wrong to some degree and deliver you the best dragon survival game possible. this video does not mean i out right support them or the past actions. I just want to keep up to date with the game. It looks like they are slowly moving in the right direction.

Also the other bigger dragons walk and run animations are done, the wyvern is also being worked on heavily now. They said 4 dragons would be in along with another biome in a genesis update by the end of the year so yea. Ofcourse one if the 4 is a dlc, which I still think was a cheap shot but the games looking good.

They copied nightfury down to one of the animations, which was the little steppy steppy one while it had its wings spread out. it's very obviously inspired by the scenes between Toothless and Lightfury in the 3rd movie

You can tell they took heavy inspiration from the Night Fury design, all the way down to the wing sounds. I like it. I just hope they add different kinds of dragons and not just the Western style. Wyverns, Asian style and more.

Considering they had Wyverns in the Beta, I would assume they are keeping the concept of them for further development. The only way I see them implementing Eastern depictions is if they bolted them to land like the Acid Drakes they currently have in the game. From what I can tell, they are attempting to go towards the more realistic feel of Dragons, at least as realistic as one can get with fire breathing reptiles.

Now this is a game you could get excited over. So much improvement! Still a ways to go, but there's been immense progress. It's just a damn shame about all of the drama that happened. I'm conflicted about it. Love what the game is becoming, hate all the bullshit that's surrounded it.

Not to mention the head developer wasnt giving clear cut answers on things. Mix that with people stirring the pot constantly and well....a bunch of shit happened on both sides. Mainly by the fanbase of the game

@@sakurahirawa all I remember is the devs had made it so the game wouldn't be playable by some KZreadrs who criticized the game and got threatened with legal action (because it's against Steam's terms and conditions). Haven't heard of the game since then! Here's to hoping the devs grew up and that we can actually get a good dragon game!

I really love dragons and I'm very picky about them. So while Day of Dragons has improved a lot, for me it's going to have to improve a lot more for me to even get the game.

Honestly I think it's cool that Raid Shadow legend is supporting so many content creators on this platform. That's super cool of them. Especially since KZread isn't really helping a lot of smaller channels. Games like Raid Shadow Legends, AFK Arena, Genshin Impact, and many other MMORPG's are helping out not only big but smaller channels. I think that's an awesome thing to do. I had a feeling they weren’t going to give up on the game, but I knew it would take a while. Glad to see the progress! It’s looking promising

I can imagine that without the audio, the beginning would look like a documentry where a mother dragon tries to escape the wrath of another dragon with her baby. God I am excited for this game but knowing the history I'll just continue to sit back and watch until it's out of beta and/or complete

@@bayouwolf220 IGP posted a vid in 2020 describing how the game is most likely a scam. People agreed with him and started calling out the dev and it was pretty much a witch hunt. The dev Jao was very upset by this and did not really think it through so he threatened IGP which only made everything worse. there was no way to prove that IGP was lying cause the game was just getting started so most people just sided with him, but now that open beta is out IGP has been proven wrong but because of that vid the credit of the game is now scarred. you can read in the comments. Even with Jao proving that he is not lying and doing everything he promised he would do, people are still calling the game a scam including IGP

Ah yes, the "twilightanger" dragon. My favorite.

It is very very good that day of dragons is beginning to recover from the really bad stages, I’ve been ignoring the game since things went bad but I’m happy to say that I’m excited to see more from this very ambitious project :D

Bruh, imagine a bunch of these night furies being invisible and when someone approaches out of nowhere they all glow at the same time, the despair of someone who was just passing by lol

@@codysmith66 Yep. They've had a few devs for a while, and now they're looking to hire even more. I think currently they have animators, a visual effects artist, an environment artist, a creature artist etc. They're looking for more animators and a map artist I think.

I'd actually like to see more of this tbh, I'd love this if what happen in the past didn't happen.

I hope they continue to develop and move in this direction. Definitely a rocky start - but I hope we see a final product that is entertaining to play.

I had a feeling anth would eventually look at the new update. One thing that really bothers me tho is the new dragon looks soooo much like a nightfury, which I don’t like. Personally I think it should vary a bit more, because the similarities with the wings and tail and even body generally is so noticeable. The only thing that is different really is the back spines and head. Otherwise the game is lookin ok, but I’m still skeptical of it. Just something I’ve been thinking of lately

@Krystian Zięba I get that but I look at it more from the perspective that there's a difference between making a tribute to something and slapping spikes and a cool head on the same product, even the animation of the wings outstretched looks much too close too me. Once again I get that it's meant to be similar but to me it just seems too close. But on the other side of it, I see it and expect the night fury but then it just isn't there and it irks me, and in a way disinterests me from the dragons themselves

@@EricIsntSmart it's more than looking like with this dragon. it's almost spot on a nightfury. that's the problem here. If someone at dreamworks studios sees that and takes offense, Jao could be facing a lawsuit. it doesn't take much these days for big studios like that to bring out the lawyers

This game seems to be coming a long way from its very rocky beginnings. Hopefully it'll manage to live up to its own expectations. One thing i will say in defense of its past, though i in no way condone what was done by the devs, Anth seems to have a bias in which he blames the actions of the toxic community and the threats he got from them on the developers of the game. This, imo, is extremely unfair, as if that were how things worked the Isle should've been cancelled and forgotten by now as that game has one of the shittiest communities i've ever seen. I don't see how any of this could ever hold the game back from reaching it's full potential, nor how it would affect development now.

I agree to some point, but I also don't on others. We shouldn't totally blame the Devs they are not responsible for toxic people and toxic communities. However they should have said something about it or disavowed that type of behaviour and actions, they didn't do that. Not the mention all the gaslighting of fans and supporters. Lying, being disrespectful and rude to legit concerns and questions. Code banning people, which is illegal, and against Steams Terms of Service, Dev and Community guidelines and rules. I want to give it a chance, however they are going to have to prove their worth and work for my money. I do not support bullying, harassment, and unprofessional behaviour from anyone. Not comic books creators, not movie creators, not product creators, and especially not video game creators. If you want to have a good fan base and community you need to lead by example with you're professionalism, demeanor, behaviour, and morality. If you're a crappy person nobody wants to work for or with you. That's how it works in the world, plain and simple. I hope they can live up to expectations and learn from their mistakes for the better. I really want a good dragon game for so long.

The sheer size of the map alone blows the isle out. We will see though. If the first 4 dragon types get in by end of the year which they have mentioned is probably going to happen then this will be huge.

There's nothing for the clients PCs to render. When or If anything is added the quality will drop

I try to keep in mind that the creator is still human and tends to make mistakes, as we all do. So I'm very pleased to see this game finally coming together. If only the things in the past hadn't been so bad, maybe this game would bring me more excitement

Very happy you included the fact that these mistakes in particular were pretty bad ones. I don't know if the original creator is still making this game. But if he is, can't say I'll ever forget some of the stuff I heard him do If I remember correctly. Can't remember if it was only blacklisting or if he actually treated some people poorly.

Geez I am relieved he survived first time that dragon attack that was tense shame got him at the end lol loved the texture on that dragon

While I acknowledge that this game is far better off than it was before, it will forever be marred by the actions of Jao and his team. Its hard to support a game being created by people who have done deplorable things, but they are making steps in the right direction with its development. I just hope that Jao and his team also take steps in the right direction to get in the good graces of the people they wronged and those who look down on them for what happened in the past

I don't recall the devs doing anything deplorable...some 'fans' of the game claimed to want Anth's dog dead, but the devs had nothing to do with that. Hell the devs got their own fair share of awefullness, INCLUDING death threats to some of their own. Nobody deserves that. They just wanna make a good dragon game, but were inexperienced with how to deal with the negative side of lash games tend to get when they get popular too quickly. So they turtled up, threw bans on their discord when someone even remotely sounded rude...it was tough. But now the community and discord is very nice. There will be a QnA tomorrow too!

@@Anten-Isy that's not what I'm talking about. Eating mushrooms isn't the only way to gain elder growth progress, or at least there's a secret to it beyond simply eating a mushroom. Jao had stated that there's a secret that no player had discovered.

This is actually a stunning game (hopefully it will be a good game)

The flight is unique the models are coming along nicely, sounds are great, the stats for nesting, etc…With future updates I can seevthis game getting popular. I was backer and always had faith in it, and I am happy with what has been produced so far! Only thing I dont like is PvP and thats just a personal problem LOL

I respect that idea. But unfortunately I believe a good couple, like 3 of the devs were actually encouraging stuff like that. I believe the main developer of the game was also responsible for lots of very very poor treatment of others. Not to mention he liked blacklisting people that would give him constructive criticism about his game. Of course nobody should have gotten death threats of any sort no matter what they did.

@@Jesus19404 try not to get their mods or admins confused as devs. There was only like 5 or 6 devs when the drama was happening, and I do not recall any of them condoning anything. I think some of there mods or testers had made some pretty bad calls, but that Isn’t the devs fault. They were volunteers and I think some were actually trying to make them look bad =( it’s in the past though. People need to move on when people show effort to make amends or prove they were innocent with hard work…

Correction, the one dev I know of jao was in on a lot of bullying and blacklisting. And I think he had a little pair of "goons" running around in the discord. I have no clue if he's still in on the makings of this game or not. Nor have I paid any attention to what's going on about the game or its devs at all since that fun little show. Basically I will end it off with this. If the devs of the game want to move on and make a good game with that money that all those fans gave em, go ahead. But jao in particular has some making up to do. If he's still in on the project.

Nice to see the Dragon Game we all have been waiting for. Might have had a rocky start but it's about time the hatchet was buried, and instead of dwelling in the past we look onwards to the future.

Do Kickstarter backers get a mention?

If this game lives up to its potential I'm gonna channel my inner nergigante and become an elder dragon that hunts other elder dragons

One thing that would make this game would be human villages and cities populating the map, and attacking/hunting dragons. Their livestock could also serve as easy food for baby dragons.

I'm glad they seam to get the game going. It does look good from what you've shown. There's so few dragon games I hope this gets finished the way they dreamed.

It's a shame about the backstory of this game because it has so much potential

So there are some improvements but honestly they keep taking others ideas like the dragon you were playing anth looked almost identical to a nightfury. Which is just going to land jao in hotwater with dreamworks and they have money to burn if they think he stole their product. I was super excited to play this game but with everything jao and his team has done in the past it’s not worth supporting that toxic of a community.

They hired a Disney animator, they also can’t call copyright. Just becuase a product looks similar doesn’t mean they can outright say they stole it since a lot of things are different.

So it doesn't really look identical to the nightfury. It's similar in body structure and bile attack but not really identical so I doubt a lawsuit is going to happen. Also other dragon models are not even closely related to httyd's dragons so it's not a copy paste. I'm not asking anyone to give the game a second chance that's you're choice, just saying of they are indeed making a game to prove they are not a scam shouldn't we be encouraging people like this with passion for a game ?

Wait till the end of the year, they'll drop a genesis update that will bring another dragon, a wyvern, and another biome to the huge mega map as well as other mechanics. Then think about buying the game

this game was made for me! can't wait to play it.

This game has definitely evolved and changed so it's changed so much that now there's actually a look and feeling that you can just see from the way you're flying and your friend is flying that you know it's smooth and I think it's a little bit buggy it's because that didn't really work out yet the fact of when you're being carried in flight which is probably gonna be worked on during the time Amazing

The video is pretty good but cant you guys just stop bringing up the drama? The devs have moved on but you tubers will not stop bringing up the drama. For those that don't know, after dods kickstarter, anthomnia made a video that got 1 million views. Then igp made a video calling dod a scam that freaked everyone out. This made anthomnia and beaver and others make videos questioning dod and freaking even more people out. Then sidalpha made a series on jao calling him a dirty dev and that freaked even more people out. The dod devs got lots of hate and death threats and banned people and it got really ugly and became a war between dod and youtubers. Well, now we all know the youtubers were all wrong about dod and jao and they need to stop bringing up the drama and the lies about dod. DoD is a good game and has a lot of ptoential to be awesome if people would quit hating on it.

It was suspected but ultimately there was no proof. It's clear Jao, despite anyone's opinion or interaction with him, continues even today on developing DoD.

None of the other already made models look remotely close to any HTTYD's dragons, the dragons still in concept phase don't look like any of them either. Soo yea you can see them in other videos or in the games official discord.

This game looks to beautiful I have been waiting for this game to arrive

The past is only going to effect this game, honestly, if people like you, "The influencers" continuously make the past a thing. This "game" in itself, looks brilliant, sure, long ways to go, but for what the game is and offers, and could turn out to be, please dont ever let yourself be let down from experiencing an amazing game, making good friends and memories, over drama that not only happened in the past, but has no bearing on YOUR status when playing the actual game.

When you try to destroy a game and actually the only thing they needed was time... At least an apology? Or is that way too much for a KZreadr?

Draconia is looking nice and emberfall is as mysterious and cool looking as ever.

I would LOVE to see more of this game, especially the creation of the world the dragons live in. What other ambient creatures are there?

Currently there is one AI, it's a bug like critter. There's a crab, fish, a rhino looking thing, a crocodile looking thing, and more comming up as AI. Ofcourse these are from concepts idk if they'll actually be in game. Although the first ai is

I am sorry but IGP started this with no proof. He hurt the game and I am not saying Jao is fully in the right. I do not think he should have threatened you guys but ultimately IGP started it and is still trying you ruin it

Well they're trying, as for the dlc. They needed a reference dragon skeleton to make the others models from kinda like the raptor is the foundation model for the isle's dinos, and the spitter was easy because they hadn't made their flight mechanics back then, so they made the spitter first even tho it was DLC because that was their foundation. I hope you get what I mean. I mean they didn't really advertise it too much but I get why it may be sus. As for the game itself, we'll they made their first map ( kinda baren atm but still it's cool ) they've got 2 dragons in game already 2 more comming before the end of the year ( or so I've been told ). A huge update to the current map and a new biome ( lava I think ). So idrt scam is the way to call the game rn because you can really see effort put into it, I mean their animations and flight system are unique and cool. Their models are top notch ( yes the current dragon looks like the Night Fury but Jao is a huge fan of the fury so I'm guessing he wanted something like that in his game ) the other dragons look nothing like any HTTYD characters. So I mean I can't change your opinion I'm telling you information.

I definitely gotta watch this later. I'm with you. Been here watching all the drama unfold but hoping they pull through and give what's been promised or said. That being said, I'm being a harsh critic about it all.
