Sikandar Raza never meant to pursue cricket. His family moved to Zimbabwe and someone saw him play in school and the rest was history.

Being an Indian and an admirer of Cricket, I think the problem is that the present Pakistani players are playing and focusing more on T20 format rather than Test or ODI, They do have capable enough young players with the right coaching staff and management they can perform brilliantly as seen in T20 World Cup 2021.

As a Pakistani fan, this is not shocking. Pakistani team was never consistent with their performance. Year 2021 and 2022 was their best chance to win a trophy after CT2017. Luck was not on their side with some injuries along the way. Its actually surprising that in every major tournament, one main player of the team will get injured. Also management of new boys, especially U19 players, was never handled right by PCB. Right now our under 19 players are playing fantastically in U19 world cup. How many will make it into the senior team in few years? Maybe one.

The real reason was the chance of chairman. In 2021, and 2022 when Ramiz Raja was chairman, Pakistan made it to the knockout stages twice and under Babar's captaincy. And Babar has to be the best captain for Pakistan after Imran Khan. Yes he didn't win a world cup, but he got them to the knockout stages and winning against india in a world cup for the first time. Later when Zaka Ashraf came, everything changed. And suddenly everyone started hating Babar and wanted to remove him as a captain. Now after all this pressure, and new captains, they faced humiliating defeats. We want Ramiz Raja back, and we believe he will change Pak cricket in sha Allah.

Yes that was the day I realized Pakistan’s bowling is toothless and I lost any hope for the coming World Cup. And I am not seeing any real effort to regain that lost ground. Soon Pakistan Team will also be a history. In the coming years they will be struggling to qualify for big tournaments like World Cup and Champions Trophy.

We were srsly Lacking a Good Spinner who can take wickets Its not just Pacers' duty to get Wickets Everytime, Spinner should help too But after the Failure of Asia Cup PCB selectors did nothing to get a Good Spinner in a WC Squad in India Where Spinners Dominate not Pacers! They picked only 1 good spinner who was in Reserve throughout the tournament & they didn't let him play a Single match!! 😤

I think that PCB is not using our young talent as effectively as they could. For example, in the first test vs Australia, they were still using Sarfaraz over Rizwan. Rizwan isn't young, but Sarfaraz is getting older, less agile. He was a great captain an keeper for Pakistan, but they need to move on. Another issue is confidence. Babar resigning captaincy has made him nervous to play. He performed against New Zealand, but if he doesn't play well in one game, he usually doesn't perform for the rest of the series. He loses confidence too quickly. EDIT: Pakistani Cricket is also very inconsistent. Sometimes, they're the best team in the world, sometimes they are the worst.

I believe that the Pakistan Team needs a serious break. Ontop of that after Shaheen Shah received that devastating injury he hasn't been the same. His pace and swing has been nowhere near normal. He's the sole reason why Pak bowlers got confidence and success. When Afridi comes back normal so will the Pak bowling.

There are only 3 reasons for Pakistan cricket downfall: 1) Nepotism 2) Too much foreign league cricket is making the cricketers tired and injured. 3) The most important point is lack of coaching. Cricketers don’t go to coaches to correct their mistakes and improve their game. Batsmen have this concept that only Sixers will give them victory. They are trying to hit every ball thus getting themselves out on low score and putting pressure on every following player. To hit sixers they need to have better skill and strength which they completely lack. Bowlers only think that they have to ball fast. The art of good swing balling is lost. They don’t know how to bowl on a good length ball with a little bit of swing. They don’t know how to utilize the weakness of opposition. Due to lack of fitness they don’t have a quality fielding thus giving away plenty of runs and dropping catches.

Appreciate the documentary but the fact is, a lot of us have already given up on Pakistan Cricket. Yes, we do love it when they actually win something because nobody likes seeing their own nation get humiliated on foreign soils and in front of the world unless they're completely braindead who just wishes to see the downfall because their favorite players are not playing. It's just the lack of interest in the game now. You look at the current Pakistani team and there's not a single player whom you can count on completely to finish the match. Pace is gone, if pace is there then no line and length. No spinners and the biasness based on regions is actually true (It doesn't just apply to cricket but to literally everything else. People getting things based on ethnicity). You can literally find so many examples of players who got their careers destroyed because of all that. In fact, the only people who really truly are a big fan of cricket are people belonging to the Punjab region(The Pakistanis you see overseas are mostly them) or the KPK region.

It all stems from the top, when Imraan khan was prime minister and ramiz raja was the chairman we were right up there. But with corruption and greed that whole setup got changed after imraan khan got kicked out and now it’s the Pakistan of old with selectors like wahab riaz, kamraan akmal, Mohammad hafeez. Until the management and chairman doesn’t change we’re not improving anytime soon.

Pakistan has been struggling in ODIs and Test for quite sometime now after winning Ct17.. India only struggle in t20 format not odi and test, go and check india stats.. Won odi and test series in Australia and England in 2021 and 2022..

Lol Downfall they played final and semifinals in last 2 World cups they just crumbled in the odi world cup in India may be because of not playing any match in India before. @officialsportica People talk about india not winning an ICC tournament since 2013, but if you see since 2013 India has always reached finals or semis (except 2021 t20wc), this shows the indian team is consistent but just that we had a bad day on the most important day. But if you look at Pakistan, since 2010s they have been group staged in majority tournaments. Also, INDIA WON THE TEST MACE IN 2011, 12, 17, 18 AND 19.

The current team fails in batting due to Rizwan and Babar , they take too much time to settle in and if they get out they have wasted a lot of balls. In bowling the fielding fails to build pressure which otherwise could lead to mistakes by batsmen and bowlers could capitalize on this , given that they don't have talent in bowling anymore. They need talented players who fight.

The real decline of Pakistan cricket team started after 2003 World Cup with the retirement of double W pace bowling attack of legends like Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis.Since then bowling attack which used to be the main strength of Pakistan cricket team became more predictable for opposition team.

As a Pakistani, I don’t necessarily agree with this. Pakistan cricket will never be at a “downfall” because of the amount of talent pool in our country (unlike countries such as Sri Lanka or West Indies) It’s just in our blood to be unpredictable and bad the game overall.

Babar only performed and won the matches against small teams or in league matches. We lost test series in Pakistan and abroad under babar azam Captaincy. He is no doubt a good player, but when is comes to play power play him and mohammed rizwan play most overs, mostly 12 overs 70-80 runs on board and they expect the rest of the team to make 100+in remaining overs. Other players didn't get enough time on the pitch as compared to these 2 openers. Having players in the team just because someone is related to ex player or friends picked not based on their performance.

@@zeeshantariq2025 now Babar is not the captain then why are the same players still playing if they were Babar’s friend. Also 70-80 runs in 6 overs isn’t bad at all. And 100+ in 14 overs (84 balls) isn’t hard either. If the team can’t do that then there is something wrong with the team. And they don’t get enough time because they don’t save their wickets, they slog blindly in middle overs instead of saving their wicket and slogging in death overs. Also, Did Babar and rizwan always play big and selfish innings?? Just check the stats and team score in the matches where Babar and rizwan got out early, Pakistan could barely get 160 in those matches.

But they didn’t play 12 overs every match, and can you check the stats of the matches where they got out before 12 overs, you would see, Pakistan batting struggled to even survive 20 overs in those matches.

As a Pakistani, let me tell you the major causes of the downfall of this team 1. Corruption in the board: the pcb is corrupt and every politician wants to control it because there is a lot of money involved there 2. Different management and coaches: So many different managers of pcb with different ideologies and frequent changes of head coach 3. No home cricket: Due to that terror attack there was no home cricket in Pakistan for more than a decade and still superstar players don’t want to come to pakistan and teams like India 4. Destruction of grounds: Cricket grounds in pakistan are on the verge of being getting completely destroyed because of no international cricket at home. People don’t see it as a career now and many have lost interest in it 5. No proper system: There is no proper system in pakistan to polish the talent. There are no small clubs or regional cricket anymore that is why we don’t have talent anymore and we rely on tape ball cricketers like haris rauf who became a media superstar after a good bbl season 6. Media Hype: Our players are just ordinary players and media have hyped them to another level. If you are a real cricket fan than you know that our superstar batsman Babar is not at the same level if Kohli, Smith, Warner, Williamson, De Kock, Rohit. And our bowlers are nowhere near the superstars like Starc, Cummins, Bumrah, Rabada, Boult etc 7. Limited Talent: Pakistan don’t have young talent no more with proper cricketing mind and temperament. Even in Quid e Azam trophy the best performers are always our international cricketers and the level of talent between them and local talent is mind boggling. Our local talent don’t have proper stance in batting and bowlers don’t even know how to bowl at right line and length because most of them are tape bowl cricketers. That is why our new players are flop like Muhammad Haris, Saim Ayub, Azam Khan, Usama Mir etc 8. Emphasis on t20 cricket: You already know this story. Our bowlers don’t have stamina to bowl 4 overs in right length so how can one expect them to bowl in test and odi. 9.No quality spinner: Our nation doesn’t have a single quality spinner not even in our leagues. Shadab bowls 38% full tosses in his spell so what you expect 10. Still playing old 90’s defensive cricket

I strongly agree with all of your points but they lost more legends due to spot and match fixing, too worst in fielding and struggling with more injuries and focusing main on other franchise for fame and money

it all started when aussies blamed Saleem Malik for bribing the matches without any reason.

Notwithstanding all the corruption at the top level, the clearest aspect of their downfall for me has been the players' attitude towards the game. All they focus on is bowling and batting. Once the ball is in play their fielding is worse than even associate-level countries. Poor communication, idiotic field placement, sloppy boundary tending, and an inability to take catches that honestly must plague their thoughts whenever they stand in the field. They need to learn to apply ressure using not just the bowler but all 11 standing out there.

As a Pakistani ig the biggest issue is our board and management they are not giving players the environment which is needed and secondly they are not managing our players properly whether the tour is against small teams or big they'll still select main players they should give chances to new rising stars against small teams look at Australia england and other English teams how well they are managing there players there players are not getting injured and there new talent is not getting waste. We have alot of new talent in domestic they should pick them... hope they will in future

The management also doesn’t rotate players. They play the same set of players in every match and they run them to the ground. You are supposed to rest your players and test your bench strength. It’s not even the talent issue it’s how they are managing it.
