The Doors - Light My Fire
Музыка
Band: The Doors
Album: The Very Best of The Doors
Release date: 2001
Track number: 2
Genre: Psychedelic Rock
Lyrics:
You know that it would be untrue
You know that I would be a liar
If I was to say to you
Girl, we couldn't get much higher
Come on baby, light my fire(x2)
Try to set the night on fire
The time to hesitate is through
No time to wallow in the mire
Try now we can only lose
And our love become a funeral pyre
Come on baby, light my fire(x2)
Try to set the night on fire

Friend, better have Jesus as your Lord and Savior before you die, you don’t wanna end up in eternal hell for Sinning against eternal God, which is what will happen. I got all the proof in the world to prove the Bible is true after all. Science, psychology, etc. first I’ll give you psychology! You cannot out psychologize the Bible for God not to throw you into hell for all eternity. In other words, you cannot come up with a good enough excuse here and now, so you will not be able to on judgment day. If you say you did not want to be born, God is going to say you should’ve been born again, that means become a Christian so that’s not gonna work. And there are no other excuses try to think of one. So now you know for the first time in your life, that the Bible is smarter than you and it is a steel trap, smarter than all of mankind, What should you do then? So at least investigate and look to see that these things are true, because right now you just learned the Bible is smarter than you, and you will be accountable for your life on judgment day before God! Prophecy, the Bible is 27% prophecy, that’s future history written in advance. God‘s really sticking his neck out to get it cut off if he’s wrong, but he hasn’t been wrong about the thousands of prophecies that were fulfilled, so he’ll be right about the end of the world prophecies as well and you’ll have no excuse on judgment day for not looking for truth! Caveat: you cannot look for God in times of chaos says Isaiah 45:19, so you better do it now. In other words,You’ll be too worried about your own survival when chaos hits, than your eternal destiny! Statistic probability of 40 writers writing the Bible with zero margin of deviation, proves God wrote the Bible through the 40 writers! God authored the Bible! DNA does not auto encrypt, the code writer is outside of the code of the 3300000,000,000 lines of computer code in the human genome of our DNA! So who wrote the code to such sophistication? 1,000,000 seconds is 12 days, 1,000,000,000 seconds is 32 years! That’s the difference between 1 million and 1 billion! One person’s DNA could fill the Grand Canyon up to 50 times full of books. John 21:25 “I suppose everything Jesus did, the world wouldn’t have enough room for the books telling of it.“ this verse would be fulfilled! Psalm 139:16 “in my members you have written many books“! Psalm 139 is about the human body!

Yeah, unless you had a good album rock station, they would play the short Ed Sullivan version for pop radio, and even more unforgivably, start talking over the end and such to fade out the song and sell you some of Honest John's used cars. I may be slightly late but I've come with my condolences. But yeah I'm here by chance as i was looking for a doors song I haven't actually found yet, someone in my college listened to it regularly almost every other day, and i remember it's name was something like "midnight man" but i just can't find it. I did find this old song with a name similar to one of a relatively new j-pop song "light my fire" so i came to check if this was an inspiration, it probably wasn't now that I'm hearing it
I saw the Doors in concert in 1968 and will never forget it. I was 18 and a farm girl going in and a free spirit of the world coming out. The Doors remain one by of my top three bands ever.

I am very sorry for your father's passing. It's sad to know he was unable to see there's better reasons to live for, than risk losing them. At his best, he gave you life and your love of Rock. And maybe other great things that are helping you cope. Music is a beautiful way to enjoy life's memories, it can take you back to a happier time. I know grieving has no time limits. Sometimes putting your sad feelings, about losing a part of you too soon into a different view, can totally make all the difference, if you are trying to fill that empty feeling. I had to do it because I ran out of tears, but still felt empty from losing my Mom in 2007. I created a new happiness from all the energy I lost missing her. I decided to bring her back into my life. If I had somewhere to go, I would say in my mind "ok Mom we're going to ........" I would ask her if she was with me to let me see a Cardinal fly by", within minutes I would see one, and be filled with happiness. Cardinals are Messengers from loved ones in heaven. You don't have to believe it, but it's written everywhere. I hope you find a way in the future to find happiness through your grief.
Artists never die, they leave works of art to us.

Always reminds me of my sister Lillie. May she RIP. She was crazy about Jim Morrison, had that big poster on her bedroom wall.
crazy, beautiful song, beautiful lyric, rhythm, meter, all great. The keyboardist playing the organ and the bass at the same time is something magical. I love The Doors, maybe I'm one of the few of my age who listen to them. Greetings from Italy!

Porfin encontré esta cancion desde más de 15 años buscandola , tengo 22 años cuándo estaba pequeño tenia un piano de juguete y salia esta cancion y recordaba la tonada y hasta ahora me se el nombre
For Gods sake its just the Doors ...and it still rocks...omg it STILL ROCKS!!
An incredible plethora of alpha music, unlike other times. And I lived in the early 50s on rock, blues, jazz, classical music and a variety of ethnic music; but this piece melds all music into a simple melange. It's like they aren't imitating anyone else.
Best part of this amazing song? All of it. Krieger's guitar solo, Ray's fiery keyboard, Densmore's drumming that pushes it forward that other guy's awesome vocals. If I had to choose just one, I'd go with Krieger's guitar, but this is truly way more than the sum of its considerable parts. This is music, alchemy and sorcery. Easily the most influential piece they ever wrote.

Listening to the entire song is worth every note BUT the ABSOLUTE BEST PART is Jim Morrison's immortal yell "TRY TO SET THE NIGHT ON FIE-YURRRRrrrrrr" at the very end of the song (6:30 into the video). There has been NO male singer since who could equal Morrison's absolutely perfect yell of those final song lyrics.

I just love the Doors and their music 🎶 🎵, Jim Morrison is really awesome. I wish that they wete still around. They had a very unique style and sound. They are what made rock and roll great.
Love this song! This song sounds like they just hit the record button during one of their jam sessions and made it on a whim.
When ‘Light My Fire’ came out in 1967, my elementary school friends and I were too young at the time to go to rock concerts, alas, so we often learned all we could about The Doors and other epic bands. We loved the ATTITUDE of Jim, Ray, Robby, and John. They seemed to wear their “game faces” and rarely smiled. Check out Morrison’s gaze and seated posture on the reverse album photo of “The Doors 13” (compilation album release in late 1970). Then try that pose on occasion in real-life... ;)
I'm only 20 years old and i listen to this song at least 20+ plus a week. My dad used to have The Doors on repeat when I was younger, I thank him for it!!!
