I feel like those of us who look at a case like this in a sane and objective manner are the minority and that the average consumer is looking for the mysterious or paranormal in even the most mundane cases.

You hear a man saying "Help me" over, and over, between 3-4am, and you don't get up to see if someone's in danger...you just roll over, and go back to sleep! Wtf is wrong with people? So inhuman!!!

That all depends on where you live. If you live in a city that's not unusual so don't judge people. You probably live a sheltered life so there are alot of things you don't understand about city life.

He urinated at some point during the walk home or in the greenbelt (disheveled pants), got injured while attempting to climb the fence (bloody hands and one shoe came off), yelled for help when he fell or couldn't get over, climbed back down the embankment with a possible head injury and fell onto the roadway below in a highly intoxicated state. Either attempting to climb down or just walking straight off the top of the retaining wall not knowing any better. It's hard to see why this case would garner so much attention other than his admirable profession. Unfortunately, alcohol alone explains a majority of what happened that evening. RIP and condolences to the family as he was a good father. I think everyone has a moment in their life where they could have become a victim of circumstance.

Such a sad end. This is probably exactly what happened. So tragic, and especially for someone affluent enough to own two homes, why not just call a cab? Sadly, when you're drunk you just cannot accurately estimate your own abilities or limitations, and this often leads people to make unwise decisions. Even though booze is legal, it's easy forget what a powerful and debilitating drug it can be, and how quickly we can unconsciously overindulge when having a fun night out with friends. RIP Chris, and condolences to family and friends.

I was thinking all those same thoughts. In my college years I made several rather lucky escapes from a similar fate. Yeah we climbed over fences and paid the price with bloody hands and sometimes even broken bones. When you live hard, you die young. Message to all: stop trying to live like a foolish college boy when you are middle aged. Jesus, does anyone refer to anyone in their 30s as "middle aged" anymore? .

Gave me some info I never knew before, like the bundles of cash being found that couldn't have been there other than by human intervention, so either Cooper survived his fall or someone found his body and the money and buried the money and then never told anyone about this (for whatever reason)

Zigmund Adamski is quite a strange case.

There is one case that comes to mind as bizzare. June 1992. Kenny Miller, 12 years old. Disappears from the PCT near Truckee/Carson Pass while playing next to a pond when his parents walked a short distance to look at some cabin. Elevation was 8,000 feet. A CHP helicopter discovered his body at 9,800 feet in July. They couldn't land to retrieve him due to weather/wind conditions. They made a second attempt the next day and the body was gone. This boy was described as having some mental challenges and not being capable of reaching the area he was located in on his own. I would like Missing Enigma to look at this case.

@Swerv0. I don't know. I don't know if he was missing clothing or not, or how they determined he was deceased from a helicopter view. Police reports, etc, would hopefully describe some of this. I got my information from a couple of news articles. It was reported that after the CHP chopper returned and found the deceased was no longer in that location, they searched 9 more days. They didn't find anything. I forgot to mention that this occurred in California.

Just so you know, I was not made aware of this case via David Paulidis. I am sure I spelled his last name wrong. Sorry. It was in a 4 hour compilation by Rusty West. These are not often very detailed, but they are factual from what he can get. He doesn't expand theories or embellish. It's more like a memorial to the lost. I LOVE Rusty's voice. But I don't knock down, Mr. David Paulidis. He is right about one very specific thing. The park services should use way better records keeping and share the information they have. Especially in 2024.

Many competent researchers inckuding this channel have shown and proven that paulides leaves out very relevant information and twists facts to make the case more mysterious or suit his missing 411 narratives. In nearly all of paulidess cases there's some important piece of information that he doesn't tell you that points to what probably happened or adds much needed context.

I've watched a few videos on it. Something that always bothers me about supernatural situations is if they were preceeded by something in pop culture. In that case there was. It bore a strong resemblance to the Kolchak film The Night Stalker where a cocktail waitress is discovered dead on an industrial site (Quarry? It's been forever since I've seen it) with no prints anywhere near the body. This doesn't necessarily mean that it was hoaxed, or that no supernatural event occurred. Just that there is source material for someone to pull from to make an elaborate murder.

This is essentially my neighborhood. I have no memory of this case from the news, which is weird. I will say that the area where he was found is a complete mess of elevated highways and roads and pedestrian walkways over them, and yes, lots of fences and steep drops. So lots of actual accidents waiting to happen to a heavily intoxicated person. But I could also easily believe he was the victim of a crime, as there are a lot of desperate people, as well as actual criminals, in any city, and unfortunately late nights and intoxicated people are an opportunity for them.

The incision where the wedding ring should be is a telltale sign of someone using a knife to pry the ring off. Two back of the head impacts is telltale of an assailant striking the back of someone's head (generally when you fall backward and hit your head you stay there, you don't get up and bash your head again). This sounds like he was attacked by a hobo who went for his wedding ring... hence the blood on the doctor's hands. The doc then stumbled to the highway seeking help but succumbed to his wounds.

I suppose I should add that specifically, I have never heard of this “falling from a UFO” business, so that wasn’t a local thing. The locals looked at the situation and said, “Yeah, he was really drunk and fell and/or was attacked, happens too much, nothing special.” Unfortunately, “man found dead on 94” is not so rare as to garner attention when you are reading rather than watching the news.

having been a drunk in my youth. and walked countless miles in those years i could come up with any number of scenarios about this man's death and in none of them was he jumped by an unknown assailant or somehow dropped from midair. chris robert was drunk and made a number of bad decisions which led to his demise. just because you're educated doesn't mean you can't do stupid things.

I agree. I had a horrible drinking problem. My friend was giving me a ride, he went inside to grab something and I opted to smoke a cig outside. I don’t remember what happened but my friend woke me up, he said I was more or less asleep and my head was right under the back wheel. If he would have moved the car, I would be a goner. Drunkenness is the most dangerous high

Agreed, I couldn’t even start to tell you the shit I got in to while drunk. It would just baffle a sober mind.

When I was a small child, one winter there was a deep snowstorm. I was walking on a snow mound that covered a low chain link fence in a neighbours yard. the fence ripped thru my snowsuit and inner thigh. I am now 54 and still have a scar. Fences can do major damage.

When I was 14 or so, my brother and I were playing frisbee in our front yard. The thing sailed into our neighbor's yard. It was a short distance to go through the gates and ask at the front door if I could retrieve the frisbee, the polite thing to do,but the neighbour was a miserable old thing, and we always avoided them if possible. I decided I'd just jump the chain link fence and grab it pop back. Well, son of a gun if I didn't discover the hard way that those dang fences can tear right through unprotected skin!! Who knew? Anyway, 5 inch scar on my inner thigh to this day. I'm 67 now. Still remember that feeling....

@@johannaholmgren8088 Dad's idea was to do that on the alley fence to stop neighborhood kids in general. I think the idea was to put barbed wire and unbroken bottles in it then break them after it dried and leave the broken pieces in a moat on top of it..... we had vandalism problems.

Can you imagine hearing someone scream for help over and over and you can’t be bothered to even GLANCE out the window? That’s the most messed up part of this situation.

This is also a Minneapolis medical team, not one from Kansas. There was a lot of drinking going on. Dude was smoking. I love that you feel that medical folks are any better at being healthy and making good decisions than the civilians? Those nurses will only eat one eighth of a donut but fire down shots like they are water. Trust me.

Sad case

I know someone who tried to climb over a fence while intoxicated while walking home and his clothing got hung up in the fence barbs, and he was stuck dangling upside down calling for help. Perhaps this explains what happened here and why the doctor's clothing was undone. Maybe he was trying to free himself. Maybe he was dangling and then dropped and hit his head.

A friend of mine nearly lost her ring finger by hooking her wedding ring when she held an upright poke while jumping out of a truck. Didn't even feel it until she saw blood. Lost her wedding band in the process.

The ring finger incision puzzles me too. Ignoring robbery, perhaps he got his finger caught by the ring on the chainlink fence by one of the tines that usually are left sticking up above the top horizontal pole to discourage climbers. They can be very sharp as they are cut off at an acute angle. The head wounds make me think robbery though and in my mind its the most likely scenario. Awesome video and you do it better than anyone else. Thanks.

I think you're right. "Incision" has strong "deliberate/with a scalpel" connotations to the average person, but the medical examiner was using its technical definition. A wound from sharp metal is likely an incision, not a laceration, but that doesn't imply it was deliberately caused.

A thief that had already used force to incapacitate his/her victim would have no qualms with removing the skin or severing the entire finger to access the ring. Many small incidents likely happened that we'll never be privy to, but from my perspective as a former deputy sheriff (for all of 2 years) it was an armed robbery with the butt of a handgun used to render him unconscious or to get his full attention. Either way, I see the finger cut as strictly incidental.

He might have gotten his ring finger stuck while climbing the fence. Or the ring itself got stuck on the fence, cut him and he pulled his hand to free his finger, pulling the ring off in the process. None of this is a mystery.

A Dirty Martini contains 3-4 shots per drink depending on if the bartender pours "heavy". At business paties, barteners usually pour heavy (for good tips). He had a drink at the condo, then 3-4 at the party with his friend, and "a handful" more (lets say 4) with his friend Paige.. so lets say 9 Martini's all together equals approximatelt 32 oz of booze. Empty stomach OR Full stomach, that's enough booze for his weight to render him absolutely trashed as it catches up with him.

My immediate thought after watching the video is yeah he probably fell somewhere along the way cut up his hands maybe even hit his head then when he gets to that fence and tries to climb over it he falls backwards rolls down the hill falls off that ledge and hits his head on the freeway and is kind of knocked out there and maybe that was the end of his story

The woman who heard the call for help was a resident in a crisis Center.

He was heavily intoxicated fell down twice. The last one is when he was relieving himself as he fell backwards, and died from his head hitting the concrete with all his weight behind him, causing his death, if only someone would’ve took care of him and made sure he got home he would still be here today. What a terrible terrible story. My heart goes out to his family.

This is yet another case where a witness hears someone screaming for help, and does nothing. :(

A little thing I feel I should say: you heard how he was screaming help, and the woman pretty much ignored him. If ever you’re in an emergent situation and need help, DON’T yell Help!! Yell FIRE! That will draw people to your location MUCH better! People will sometimes ignore help; they RARELY will ignore “fire “!

I’d ignore fire unless it’s in my vicinity. If you’re down on the road and I’m in bed trying to sleep for work then I’d let closer people help. I have to support myself because no one helps me either. I better start screaming fire at the grocery counter when I get the bill. See who helps me.

I realize it’s not as cut and dried as “you hear someone yelling, you should help” and that there’s complexities in it because of how society is, but, I wish it wasn’t that way or didn’t have to be that way.

Never heard of this case before... this is a strange one, though I think the way you laid it out made a lot of sense. It's possible that when he fell off of the fence, he just tumbled all the way down into the highway, and that signpost obscured his body from passing vehicles when it was dark. My thoughts go out to his friends and family.

2 questions: 1. Was his wallet ever located and finger printed? 2. Was his driver's license finger printed?

I'm sure food and drink were complementary. So, in what instance or situation would it make sense for Chris to display the contents of his wallet to her? Doesn't make sense.

@@sethstine4698I’ve been to plenty of hospital work parties where I’ve brought money. First, you never know what time they’re going to close the tab. Second, we might go somewhere else afterward - another bar, a club to dance, or even to get some more food. I don’t think that in and of itself means anything. And maybe since she knew of their original plan, which was to go to Ruth Criss rather than a party, she either assumed he brought his cards or had discussed it with him and he’d said he had money with him.

@@sethstine4698 They were discussing plans to catch an Uber or taxi. The Uber can have your payment saved, but a taxi often needs physical payment. Also, I’ve been to company parties where the food was free, but cocktails and speciality drinks were not included, and had to come out of pocket. I can’t think of very many people who would go out and not have their wallet with cards and ID on them, even without plans of using them, so it’s no stretch to see a coworker saying that.

Long time resident of Minneapolis here. There is absolutely zero chance that the Minneapolis PD would respond to a call reporting someone simply yelling on the street or in public. Even "help me." This is a big city; people yell at night all the time in big cities.

YEP! Especially now, the MPD is NOT going to respond to a call like that because they are TOO BUSY. Even back then, MPLS had A LOT crime problems and the police were having trouble with the amount of crap happening here.

Truth. I live in a much smaller city than Minneapolis, in Canada. But living downtown in a mid-size city, not far from a homeless camp, I hear people screaming and yelling almost every night, to the point that I was having a very vivid dream about zombies last night, woke up, realised that I was just hearing some guy making loud zombie-noises through my third floor window, rolled over, and went back to sleep. The cops can't and won't do anything about it. As for the woman in the crisis centre, I work in the mental health field, and have liasoned with the police involving some of our patients. Their usual attitude is that if someone is an inpatient in a mental health facility, they won't believe a word they say without piles of physical evidence to back it up. It's sad but it's true. Even if she'd called for help, nothing would have been done.

I can't blame the witness at the crisis center for not getting up; I live in a smaller city than Minneapolis and I've also ignored calls for help outside. I live on a street that a lot of transients pass through, heading between county services, the methadone clinic, and the homeless shelter, so people just yell outside all the time. The only time the calls for help were ever for a real emergency was the time a guy (presumably, as I never got the details) passed out in his car on the street with his foot on the accelerator, revving the engine until something exploded. He got out and started calling for help loudly, but robotically, with no real alarm or concern, and my first thought was "do not go out there, that's bait or something". I sat up and saw flickering out the window, and the car was just going up in flames across the street while the guy wandered around. Police and fire were there in like, two minutes, and once he saw cops, the guy tried to get back _into_ the car, only for police to pull him back.

Anesthesiologists, as a profession, are at increased risk of substance abuse issues because many of them were exposed to years of micro dosing knock-out gas from faulty equipment. Even if he was clean, he sounds like he had a unusually high alcohol tolerance. Just a thought.

Sounds like he was mugged while trying to walk home drunk...

There’s something about the tragic mundanity of this case that makes it, in my opinion, so somber. Not someone who went hiking unprepared, no suspicious circumstances: just a man who got too drunk hanging out with friends.

I cant imagine hearing someone screaming for help and just going back to sleep. This is why we have unexplained dissappearances... because the person that COULD help...does nothing. I hear so many stories of people going missing where there are people who hear a cry for help and do nothing or they leave an injured person alone. So many people go missing because someone around them just didn't care enough to help...or check...or pay attention to cries for help. NEVER ignore a cry for help. ALWAYS take it seriously if it's a joke then it's on the person who needlessly cries for help NOT the person who does something about it.

Bit odd that you hear someone repeatidly cry for help at 4 am and you don't get out of bed to check? I get out of bed everytime someone makes any sort of noise outside because I'm nosy. If I heard someone calling for help, I'd leap out of bed! It's a weird case but it's possible that the guy got too drunk and walked outside, and just fell and hit his head. It's not unheard of people falling down while intoxicated and hurting their heads, especially since he was visibly drunk hours earlier. Maybe he hurt himself and was calling for help, no one came and he died. As for the nanny, she clearly has her own issues and didn't have any useful infomration to provide.

If the guy weren't a Dr. no one would have looked into it this hard. Everyone would assume a drunk cut himself climbing over a fence, took a header onto the pavement from the embankment wall and died. Seems that's what happened either way.

Really, no law enforcement would " look into" this that deeply? There STILL are laws REQUIRING INQUIRY. ALL OF THESE SITUATION REQUIRE AN AUTOPSY, PAPER WORK, REPORT IN FILES, I dont see that they did much more than any other routine case. I guess all that work dectectives do in the big cities is just for rich elites? I tend to think its the opposite, at least in the recent past. I cant know after 2020 bc the world was shut down and law enforcement was attacked by leftists stealing funds.

I don't think the guy walked very far with his belt, button and zipper undone. He may have been assaulted earlier and later relieved himself, possibly in the vicinity he vomited. Why would that witness near crisis centre not call the police? If I heard someone crying for help outside my house it's the least I would do.

Bystander effect, hallucinations and so one. It is possible that she thought it was in her head till she found out someone actually died in the area at the time. Or she didn’t or couldn’t comply herself say she was sleeping

Having been this drunk, I can see how he was found in that state. I myself have had similar injuries to him but found myself under the loving care of friends/policemen who made sure I got back home. It's so sad to think how a decision like having a drink can cause losing control so easily but it sadly happens. Also, please keep in mind certain meds like anti depressants can double or triple the effect of alcohol in our bodies so a regular analysis of weight and drinks won't work. So sad for his family and friends.

OMG! How can you hear someone yelling for help and not call police? Negligence!! Hope the same doesn’t happen to the witness’s family!

An an anaesthiologist, did Chris occasionally use prescription drugs as an adjunct to his modest alcohol intake? It does seem likely that he was assaulted and robbed, but his intoxicated state would make him a natural target for any passing lowlife.

They did experiments on this in the U.K for a TV show and it was pretty much the same, the injured person begging for help on the street was ignored by 99% of the people present. It's not just a "country" thing, it's a phenomenon that humans from anywhere are prone too and comes from the common thinking that someone else will do something about it so why should I? Or putting the responsibility on anyone or anything else.

Me too! I have certain channels like this one where I love to read all the comments (like I'm doing now! Lol) it's neat to read people's ideas and thoughts about the story we just watched!

Those injuries and his location lines up with being hit by a vehicle after he lost his shoe trying to climb the fence. Since he was unable to get over the fence, he eventually made his way back down to the highway, where he was struck , then he started yelling for help. This correlates with the timeline that the witness who heard those calls for help was after the cctv footage of him crossing and going towards the fence. The evidence at the fence showed he may have spent a little time up there before he made his way back to the highway. He was then struck by a vehicle and was yelling to get help. If you look at those injuries it sounds like he was hit from behind and then fell forward onto his hands,knees and face. Since he already lost his shoe,his foot was injured as well. I don't know how ,at the beginning of the investigation, they determine that it was not a hit and run. IDK. Love the channel. You always do an excellent presentation. Can't wait till the next notification.

Martinis usually aren't like a beer or something 4-5 drinks was probably really 10 or more. Anyway, besides "drink responsibly" I think the biggest take away from this story is that if you hear someone yelling for help don't ignore it. You don't even need to investigate yourself. Just call the cops. It's their job and you just may save someone's life.

From Mpls, I know the route Dr Robert travelled very well. Walking north from Uptown (Hennepin Ave So & W Lake Street) would've take him past at least 2 bars still open at that time + a couple of bar/restaurants close by in the neighborhood. It sounds to me like he stopped someplace, was turned away, & then got himself rolled (mugged) when he hit the area around Franklin Ave, just up Lowry Hill from where his body was eventually found. With nothing but Xmas party sushi to hold down the 6-8 dirty Martinis in his otherwise empty stomach he posted a huge "Rob Me!" billboard to any car or pedestrian traffic in the area --- if he fell off anything that night it was a very tall wagon. RIP Dr Christopher Robert & may God bless all anesthesiologists.

It sounds like someone attacked him, robbed him, he survived the attack but had head trauma, then he just stumbles off to his demise. They should have tracked CCTV from the Christmas party location to where he was found, any route that could have gotten him there. Doesn't sound like they did that. And thanks to the resident of the building that did NOTHING to help.

That seems like the most likely explanation. Taking a leak, getting robbed, and then stumbling on, being too weak to climb the fence, then going down to the motorway, hoping maybe a driver would see him.....

If he was calling for help why didn’t he use the phone that was in his pocket? Was the battery dead? Was he so drunk that he didn’t realize he had his phone? Sad story and as usual alcohol was involved.

The guy was robbed. Two hits in the back of the head, to me, indicate someone trying to knock him out so they cam rummage through his pockets. I'm willing to say this occurred next to the highway, probably some homeless person or someone else, seeing a drunken man and pouncing on the opportunity. This would also explain the missing time: He was out cold ,woke up several hours later [when the woman heard him], and started calling for help. Either because he couldn't stand up, or because he was still being attacked.

The woman who just casually ignored a man crying for help should be ashamed of herself as a human being.

Another great piece of reporting. I worked at a premises very near the scene of this tragedy at the time, across Clifton Ave from the Nancy Page building, and am very familiar with the area. . This stretch of I-94 is extremely dangerous, with poor sight lines in both directions, and cars routinely moving at full highway speeds of 70 mph . He could easily have been struck .It’s an object lesson in the necessity of keeping pedestrians off of freeways- especially in Wintertime. The most likely scenario is that he slipped and fell while climbing over fences and guardrails. What his actual intentions might have been are unknown. He was let down by friends, in my opinion, who should have realised he was drunk and made sure he got home . Minneapolis in December is no place for anyone to be wandering around completely intoxicated at night.

One day, out of the blue, my mom told me a story about her uncle who had disappeared when she was a little girl. He took a walk everyday at same time and followed the same route and she said the walk took about an hour. My mom lived way out in the woods at this time. Her uncle never returned from his walk and no trace of him was ever found. She said her family searched for the man for months. Nothing. I was in late 20s when she told me about this. It was a great mystery as to what happened.

You hear about the missing Iowa trucker who left a whole shipment of live pigs and his phone a ways off route from the farm? Aparently, he was found recently a few miles away from the truck in a place they searched multiple times. He originally went missing 5 months ago, I believe. Aparently, his body wasn't messed with at all by animals and wasn't very decomposed, making people wonder if his body was moved there. It's still under investigation by police I've been following the case since it's close to me.

On the highway, with blunt force trauma? Sounds like a date with a hit-and-run.. Or he fell from that bridge where his shoe was found.. Or fell from the fence where the handprint was? Pants were undone? Went to pee and fell down the steep hill, hit his head on the way down..? Dazed, falls and hits it again? Fell, hit his head, was dazed and fell again? If he was mugged, why didn't they take his iPhone? And no wedding ring, pants undone..? A lady of the night with a partner in crime could also be the reason, they just left the iPhone bc it can be tracked, never used the credit cards for the same reason. Just took the money and the ring.. So many potential reasons. No UFO's needed in this story.

that´s a pretty sad case.

Four months later the body of the pilot is found on a hill on the island, the autopsy can’t determine cause of death but it’s not likely he died from a fall from a plane (only minor injuries). Finally the plane is never found. Sort of a reverse of the case here.

Look up Norman Gibbs Mull Island 1979. It’s quite a strange case.

Once you get to “acute alcohol intoxication” there’s not much point in further investigation, you’ve solved all the mysteries.

Sounds like he fought for his life. If only the lady that heard it had called 911.

Agreeing with everyone who is saying no mysterious fall from the sky here, and the witness, if telling the truth, should have at least tried to call cops whether they would have responded or not.

Paulides is a snake oil salesman he nit picks many of the facts behind his cases to make them more spooky/mysterious. It's all for selling books/documentaries etc.

Tragic accident---extreme intoxication leading to a series of events resulting in a sad and needless death. NO murder, NO ridiculous 'fall from the sky'. Riley Strain case in TN. was similar. Too bad supposed adults drink so much that they lose their lives. A doctor...husband, dad...Such a waste.

if you hear someone outside screaming for help around 3-4am, call the police to check up around the area, jfc. if they did, chris might still be alive
