The DO’s and DONT’s of a great Body Shot
Body shots! Should be pretty simple, just hit them in the body as hard as you can right? Unfortunately it’s a bit more complicated than that-but don’t worry! I’ve come bringing a few Do’s and Dont’s when it comes to throwing an effective body shot. Try them in your next sparring session!

I want to like your comment but you’re on 69 likes so..
Honestly the jaywalking analogy saved my life, before today I was jaywalking across 4 lane highways, and now I’m only doing it to get to gas stations. Thank you Corey
Never stop posting quality material. Hope the channel blows up big as it deserves. Channels like yours are underrated. Let alone the caliber of fighter you are giving this info. Will always be grateful for every post of yours that helps me train from home
I bought the instructional yesterday, in my opinion, it is worth it if you are an up-and-coming amateur fighter. If you are looking to understand how to fight better defensively and save some brain cells, this is for you. Cory Sandhagen did not put a gun to my head and made me type this.
Been watching some Masaaki Noiri tape and how he brings up the opponent's guard with throwaway punches then hits the body with quick punches or knees, or sometimes drops opponents with snap kicks with the ball of the foot at range is a treat.

Yeah I like to try the same thing as well when I wanna target the liver. I distract the guard to open up right side (make them parry with rear hand, use probes or pull guard up with traffic/volume), get into a lil predictable rhythm, calculate how I’ll set up footwork/ body positioning and catch them with body shot on off beat. Bas Rutten had a really good video on combos that open up liver shots changed how i thought about them
The detail of how you shoot into the gap between elbow and body was really nice. Going to consider this every time I train this now. Thanks, champ!
quality material, wow. If I had to ask any thing, I'd say up the sound because it's very low / It'd be lovely if made vids on the most basic stuff
You should do something with front kicks I would like to learn more about them!
Cory you're the goat for posting these, so helpful
Brilliant analogy
Oh more of these please. This is gold!
these are so good! love your style. its a dream come true that you are doing instructional!
Amazing breakdown, please keep it up!
I’m so stoked you got this channel going
Cory you are the man! Such a skillful and good guy. Love to learn from your videos. Top content as always
Thanks for the tips Cory 🙏🏾
Cory I'm loving your videos but the audio is always very low. Could you tell your editor to bump up the audio level and compress a bit? Would be wonderful!

You should push your YT channel more, I didn't even know you had one. Love the content!
These videos kick ass
Wooah great info
I would love to learn how you use footwork in general but also how to punch while stepping. I guess unexpected punches is a part of that. Appreciate what your doing, much love
My body shot obsessed mind is happy now.. Sandman your awesome can you show us some set ups combos related to this in The Future 🎉
Crazy channel man.
Loving the content man, much appreciated. But i would love it if you could turn the audio up a bit. Some of tour videos have quite low audio. Also when you show punches like this i would love it if you could also show alternative angles, maybe you guys could do it again while standing a bit closer and at a slight angle so we can se where you land it even better. All the best man, keep up the good work. The knowledge is gold
How about an episode about jabs and distance management? That'd be awesome! Love the content
Let’s go!
Can you make a video on leg kicks/calf kicks, please? Appreciate all the wisdom brother
thx
Dope tutorial. I’ve been trying to land more body shots in my sparring as of late because I’m a shorter guy and I’m getting a bit older, my reaction time/ability to close the distance isn’t what it used to be. I can’t critique your technical advice because I’m not at your level and I think your advice was solid. But the only critique I’d give was the camera angle. I think it would be a lot better if we could see you give a demo from both sides. Essentially like you would teach a group class if you were standing in the middle of a circle. Show the technique from one angle then rotate 90 degrees so everyone can see it. Obviously for a video you don’t need to rotate 90 degrees 4 times, you can just do 180 degrees once. But yeah man, love your content. It’s so cool to get breakdowns from guys at the highest level of the sport. That’s such a uniquely MMA connection to the fans
Very very helpful to hear how to throw and not get hit
Oh hell yeah
Awesome video. What set ups do you like for the body shot? Any different way to set up vs a southpaw?
This video is good, but I feel like I don't need it because I'm 260 bro. If I grab a hold of you it's over!
