    I get around the issues with grenades and melee by simply never remembering either of those mechanics exist

    I have always found it absolutely wild that cooking grenades is locked behind a talent! For the first couple months playing division 2, I just assumed I just hadn't discovered the right key press to do so

    Yes, melee is very high risk and should grant more reward. It would be a fun tactic to be able to use. Take Emiline Shaw (Manning Zoo) as an example; if you run past her but get slightly too close, she just seems to touch you with her magic pinky and you're almost at death's door. So the devs have added melee damage into the game but only for NPC's. Even if I'm using Claws Out, it takes 3 hits to kill a red on challenging, with the added risk of running into the middle of everyone.

    Health is another one. Had it at the start, was useful for a while with Berserk, then made it totally irrelevant. Melee: every NPC is Mike Tyson, while you are Urkel. Nades: the only one worthwhile is incendiary, to go with status effects builds.

    Players with shields sometimes really get annoying. They stand in the way of everything, sometimes with their pistols trying to take down heavies

    @@d15p4tch6 in this specific case I think it's a players problem, not the game. Shielded players can be obnoxious, especially in missions with big open spaces on heroic and legendary. The game is a cover shooter but the all red core builds don't know how to use it

    Positioning yourself behind cover is okay but too risky in legendary when the grenaders start spamming you or your teammates I only recommend ppl who have skills to stay behind cover and let the skills do most of the work. Remember the skills shooting and taking damage is almost equivalent to whenever the npcs are fighting each other. But shielding yourself behind cover in an all red build is better than you think. I put myself in a position to where I'm within reach of my teammates to pick me up if I go down on legendary, but not in the way. Kind of a skill issue if you leave because players are in your way

    If they want hip fire to be useful again they have to let use jog when hipfire and make it to where he can hit crits in pvp with hipfire

    Thinking about it, I think one sensible change that could be made to grenade mechanics would be to make them cookable by default and instead have mad bomber make them explode on impact. I think grenades would still need to offer something more than they currently do, to make them truly viable, but this would be a big improvement

    Interesting video. When you're a new player, you don't even notice those problems. But the more you play, the more they are obvious. Melee and grenades are indeed useless, unless to proc a talent...

    i remember when the dev's stream the game they said they play on normal difficulty and they love to use grenades 😂 i guess its cool when u a dev and u can add wtf ever u like in to the game just for this only 1 dev to enjoy ... 🤣🤣 the new dev team its just funny at this point , crazy bugs and problems every patch, weird items getting added, and the story stretching so hard, im afraid its gonna snap on my small fingers. 😅😅😅

    All good points but I think the bigger issue with the game is that once you start playing on higher difficulties the only builds that are viable are DPS and Tank. I would love to be able to run a status effect or skill build in the Raids or the Incursion but they won't work as well. There is a lot of gear and brand sets that have no use on higher difficulties. A lot of equipment including exotics need serious reworks. Hopefully in Division 3 they put a little more thought into making all of the equipment useful.

    I definitely agree with your main point - that there is a much smaller pool of talents and sets that work on higher difficulties, but status crowd control and healer builds definitely work very well on higher difficulties

    Status effects builds are amazing for legendary in a group, also heroic missions like Pomatec, Grand Washington Hotel, Lincoln Memorial, The Tombs, the Coney missions etc where you can cruise through with barely using your weapons, a skill build with turret and drone also shreds in summit legendary or solo heroic open world

    @@gta7666 definitely but tight room missions like Pomatec, Grand Washington Hotel and even Lincoln Memorial are possible to do solo with status effects on heroic. My favorite build is an eclipse protocol one, but I can't use it solo on challenging or heroic open world. For solo there's nothing better than a tank strikers or a 6 tier skill build with drone and turret

    When I started playing a month ago a nade could take out a group of enemies. Now I can throw one at an enemies face and it doesn't move the health bar. I can drop a dozen bullets into the face of an unarmoured enemy and they stay standing and keep firing at me but with sweet dreams I can punch them once and they die.

    Meaby if a male was insta knockdown or shield break or one spot armour plate removal-weak spot exposure with some disorient or stun effect... high risk high reward mechanism. all granades soupose to cause panic/stagger effect upon enemies and when get caught armour plates, helmets and weekspots need to get serious damage, especially in closed corridors etc. I see nades not like a skill but skill shoot that needs time and precision but we need to can cooked them by default and have rewarding effects when nicley landed.

    @d15p4tch6 it's quite simple... they cannot be on parr with damage obviously ( also there are plenty damage mechanics already ), so they suppose to be: shield, plates, helmets, weak spots killer's + some status effects.

    Got my first concussion grenade kill in conflict last night... its only been like what? Five years? 😅 In div1 grenades in PvP were amazing short-term area denial tools due to the fast animation and ease of use. They definitely need a faster animation in the next Division game. On hipfire i do remenber when the game first came out, people were running round the DZ spamming the M60 with hip fire and it waa absolutely broken. I'm sort of glad it's useless now but you are right - It should have some viable application in pve I actually havent used a shield since the nerf that was only supposed to apply to pvp but ended up applying to both pvp and pve abd i cant say i miss it. So meh on that one for me

    i agree that the shield mechanics need to be changed but i´d change it differently: so instead of the usual pull out shield-shoot-put away-repeat id switch it up by giving the shield a cooldown as soon as u put it away and slightly reduce the movement speed when drawn and giving it slightly more health in return so ur actually supposed to commit to that skill whenever u decide to use it.. or in short. the same way as it was in division 1.

    1st area is the Pentagon. You've got to walk around the areas that aren't part of DARPA or Pemtagon. 2nd area is DZ South.

    Pentagon area. You go thru it when you first get the missions going through the story. If you travel to the Pentagon safehouse, you can make your way out to the outside area shown. It's not very big, but looks pretty cool

    Great vid! Definitely gives me a better understanding of some things that happen to me. As a pvp player though i dont see melee as weak at all, and agree theres no reason to tie the balancing to one another. I guess they dont have the infrastructure for it? Theres definitely alot of horrible things in conflict from 1 shot hives going through multiple walls to atrocious spawns.

    @@d15p4tch6 - you have very valid points. I've been screaming for years that PVP and PVE values for weapon and gears needs to be separated. Grenades have power of firecrackers?!? Enemy NPCs melee you and takes all your armour away, while you melee them with Lady Death + Claws Out is like a WWE smack. Here's another thing I don't get, you have all these techs - equivalent of a nuke in your backpack - but not night vision??? I'm up for shield only for SMGs & shotguns. Rifles need more power since the NPCs are much faster now. The average rifle builds hit around 1.2mil crit @ 300rpm. When an AR build could hit 700k crit at 900rpm.
