I have a 2024 Camry SE with the 2.5L and 8 speed transmission. Traveling from St. Augustine to just outside Orlando I averaged 45 mpg traveling around 70mph on the interstate. Around town I only get around 26mpg but on an interstate with a steady speed the car punches above the EPA ratings. I am very impressed.

My last 23 altima use to get 26 city 43 highway w/o any special tech at the lower elevation levels, just simple 4cyl no auto start /stop version ... but I gotta admit going from the 95ft elevation to the almost 1,900 ft couple times a week mpg drops below 38 very easy and you can feel rpm stays up as vehicle slows down a lot ...

A bit too much accel between short stop sign/lights and a bit too late on breaking messes up mpg, and watching your speeds in parking lot and first light you accel more than me and break more than me. Hard acceleration merging will really kill the mpg on a short trip. I had 2017 Cruise and got 42 mpg highway doing 57 miles per hour, even reaching 48 mpg using cruise control on long flat stretches while getting 34 city with very smooth accel and braking. My sister bought my car and immediately only got 37 highway and 25 city. I can't ride with her, my niece, or my oldest brother as they all act like it is a race between stop lights and signs giving me motion sickness and a rollercoaster ride feeling. I have had several vehicles make it 90,000 miles before needing brakes while my sister is getting her 3rd set at that time.

The last gen Camry easily beat its EPA estimates, the new Camry hybrid design is significantly more efficient, so I have no doubt it will get better than the EPA estimates. It also doesn’t look like the vehicle is broken in. Toyotas 4th and 5th gen hybrid system, learns your driving style and terrain and then adapts to it to give you the best mpg, so brand new you won’t get the high mpgs until you break it in. That’s how it went with my 2021 Toyota Venza

Change your new oil at 2000 miles. That's enough break in for the engine to start giving you the right mpg and an early oil change gets rid of any metal shavings from the break in. Only use full synthetic at the right weight.

My 22 Honda insight is rated at 50 mpg combined and I have averaged 58.5 mpg over 37k miles. The LE is rated at 52 mpg. We have a 2018 Camry hybrid and I can get over 50mpg in it, with no issues.
