Lillymon Ace is more used against digimon that unsuspend as a result of the "When attacking" trigger. Since it happens afterwards you can slow down OTK decks in those circumstances. The removal is mid as heck, but it's more for the previous listed reason.

Promo Diaboromon Ace as well (P-114), it's a real nice addition for Diaboromon decks which have been neglected for a while. Also somewhat splash-able into other black decks but mainly for Diaboro for sure.

Regarding the Magnaangemon ACE, I consider it to be the best ACE card right now. a 4 Cost level 5 that heals on play and does some -dp can really be effective. Also this card def belongs in the mastemon deck now.

From the point of view of a yugi player(and little knowledge about digimon) this sounds to me like accel synchro more than handtraps, cuz you need the digimons in the field and the card in your hand, and does something when get into the field. But sounds cool

What about Imperialdramon Ace 😭😭😭

I just got a starter deck with the new ace cards and its my first deck. Now to find people to play with!

so it's pre-block Flash Timing Descent/Advent from BatSpi that also comes with a downside...

So as somebody who got a Dragon of Courage and then went to an event to get another so I'd have a full set of Blast Ace cards....Yeah it's hard deck to run. If we follow the base line we usually have to give up the good Agumon to make a line that at most can surprise block then security check 2 and reboot to untap or wait till they hit us and pray it's not a security check of 2+ as crackback. ^_^;;; I might have been better off just getting Wolf of Friendship and mixing into the deck for a theme that at least has more teeth than the combined deck. I've seen some list still use the WarGreys with a Red/Black OTK WarGrey but honestly, I'm not sure that's super effective even in alternate formats. Saw it get bodied by Ulforce with little effort for example who has a good line but I wouldn't call it the hardest deck to outhink normally but with the DoC stuff in a Red WarGreymon deck you often do seem to have to put in a lot of energy to think your way through it. I have no clue how to proceed to upgrade this 'deck' but I think I'm gonna just add in some cheap black bombs since the ace mechanic often gives my opponent more benefit than me currently. But hey at least I don't just have the original Veemon starter I got second hand. Much like true DigiDestined (in Tamers especially), I'm in poor situation but it's my fortitude that will get me out of it. ...Or I'll just end up playing it only when somebody doesn't have something I can borrow lol

the only way I can describe the lillymon ace card is "wait" card that only serves to punish your opponent if for whatever reason your they don't have any digimon that are above 5k dp and decide to attack

It can suspend whatever it needs to though which is nice. Sure the bouncing effect is pretty restrictive but it will still save you from at least one attack, with potential to save you from two.

Few things I'd like to point out: Lillymon's bouncing effect only works on weaker Digimon, but the suspending effect works on literally anything. That will absolutely save you if you're one swing away from defeat. And honestly if your opponent is rushing you for game there is still a fairly high chance that they'll have something that you can bounce with it, potentially saving you from 2 attacks. With MetalGreymon, that's still a better than average deletion effect for a lv 5, so even if you do it on your own turn it's still pretty good, and having the option to do it on the opponent's turn is still nice. It's still probably the worst of the Ace cards but is still pretty likely to go off unless your opponent has a whole board of lv 5 and up. MagnaAngemon's DP reduction effect also makes it a lot more likely that the opponent's Digimon would get deleted if you have any Digimon in your security. WarGreymon absolutely needed to be once per turn since it also procs when you attack your opponent, and would just end games as soon as it hit the board without it. Anyway that's my thoughts on all of them. Hope I don't get too much hate for it lol

Thing is, this is just the start, aces are going to come left and right in the new sets. We already have more aces than you just shown. Ace Diaboromon, Ace RustTyrannomon and Ace Imperialdramon. So many more will come . I for one like it, gives another complexity to the game, making it fresh.

Hey I welcome it if it's always this high risk medium reward style of play. Might be the first time in TCG history the word handtrap actually makes me smile....weird as that feels to type.

WarGreymon ACE is best used in it's own archetype (especially Black-centric versions) here is can gain Reboot, S. Attack, more DP, and other potential protections. It's unfortunate that it isn't as splashable as some of the better ACE mons

I use to be big in Digimon when I was a kid, but the franchise pretty much died to Pokemon. I remember the tv series, the movies and even the marbles with the faces of Digimon on them from Walmart lol. It's neat seeing them bring it back, and even flourish in this new age of gaming and card games.

MetalGarurumon is simply the best ACE because you can digivolve into it on your turn for 0. Just wait until BT15... Heck maybe even closer in EX5.

Also not to double comment but I would like to say Digimon is my favorite version of a handtrap in any game so far because it's not purely advantageous or "I have more money I win" and is leagues above Modern Yugioh. **Glares at Kurikara** Leave my Scareclaws and VS alone! >.

Diaboromon ace is semi busted, provides early mid and late game advantage and the longer he stays the more oppressive the board state he can develop on his own.

For casual play yes. I think MTG still has the best card game title though surely from how complex it's interactions are and how you can take the most homely box UC and somehow make a grown man cry for mercy.
