Harrison Ford and Brad Pitt star in this harrowing thriller about an IRA gunman who draws an American family into the crossfire of terrorism. In his defense, he’s a high profile paramilitary with many years of quality training. They on the other hand, are just sociopathic thugs who assumed that mere showing off was enough.

Will never forget Brad Pitt use of Stupid man
Tense scene from such a movie. As to the Stinger missiles it is based on an actual case in 1988 to 1990; the FBI foiled a plot to acquire the Stinger missiles on the black market in Miami which were intended for the IRA.
Ironic that Treat Williams is portrayed as insulting the Irish since he is a prototypical Irish American himself look wise.

Bog-Irish is derogatory for someone who is perceived as low-class Irish, even the Irish use it. It's like calling him "white trash."

great scary film.
Loved the film but the scenes with the american gangster Billy as a go between for stinger missles made no sense. If Billy knew what he was getting into bed with he would just do business and move on. One; because if he couldnt make the sale, he still has stinger missles to shift and im sure they are illegal to possess in the US - where is he going to get a serious buyer? Two, its the IRA...if you mess with one of their people on an assignment like this, they will 100% send people for you and catch you in your bed the middle of the night. The only thing that rings true in this entire situation was Rory telling him that he was a stupid man.

It made perfect sense. Didn’t you hear Rory tell him multiple times through the movie, and in this scene. “You’re a stupid man, mr Burke” which is the case. The mobster got too greedy and wreckless. He got killed for it. Because? He’s stupid.
