There are other arguments that support the interpretation of 666 as refering to "Caesar Neron" (how he was spelled gramatically correctly): There was another manuscript of John's Revelation where it says the number of the beast was 616 which would be the value of the gramatically wrong version "Caesar Nero" without the n. Also the fact that the beast emerges from the sea might refer to the Roman Empire which from the Hebrew perspective was a threat that came from the sea.

True, the earliest copies that exist show the number as 616. 666 was an early error in translation.

Yup, that's what my father said. The number has nothing to do with the devil and everything to do with a rotten leader.

K, so I WAS looking for an explanation as to why the OLD Testament listed the amount King Solomon taxed his subjects as 666 gold coins but it seems everyone missed that. Despite all the biblical scholars that talk about how you need to read all of the Old Testament to understand Revelations symbology....someone skipped that. Numerology sounds cool...but either Nero can ALSO come back from the dead...or he's being compared to an older bible story when John was tripping balls after decades of studying the scriptures.

Nero was a good guy, his reputation just got smeared by those who took power after him.

Written entirely by a lone person on an island, 100 years after christ, who claims he saw a “vision”. It never takes much unbiased attention before everything in the bible starts unraveling into nonsense.

Way too much to cover, but the number 666 in the bible is coded. It represents the number 9 (through reduction) and 9 is the representation (allegory) for the spirit of satan in that it is a direct reference to the ego.

There's no such thing as a 'human number'. 🙄🤦🏻‍♂️

You know there's one thing that I never understood how do they know what 666 and not 999 there's no line under the six and I was always taught if it was like 666 there'd be a line under it to prove that it was a 6 if not it was a nine that was in mathematics what I was taught the only way you'd look at that and say it was a 6 is if it said 666 in each one of those sixes had a little line under it so personally I think the mark of the beast is 999

The numbers 6 and 9 are just flipped upwards and downwards the 6 is upwards the nine is downwards don’t worry about the lines the numbers only upwards and downwards.
