The pistons roster is filled with players that other teams in the league didn’t want. For example: Knox, wiseman & Bagley didn’t even finish their rookie contracts with the teams who drafted them. Joe Harris, Burke and Bojan just landed there via trades. The entire roster doesn’t make any sense.

In today's NBA, the only excuse is Monty. No way this is possible unless the coach didn't want to coach this team and is trying to get free money. It's not that crazy. Frank Reich was successful doing this because he knew Bryce Young was no better than a 6th round QB because he can't throw to the far side of the field with any velocity. He didn't care and got his bag. The previous coach, Casey should have been fired and completely disassociated from the franchise instead of getting a front office position a year earlier or at least when former Celtics coach and cute Houston coach, idk his name off hand and Quinn Snyder were available. I would take Mark Jackson in a heartbeat or as a publicity stunt to sell tickets, Isiah Thomas as interim as way to sell tickets instead of guy intentionally trying to get fired

It’s hard to watch my favorite team suffer so much now. They only won a total of 4 games combined in 2023 calendar year. Everyone usually hated the Bay Boys and 2004 Pistons teams. However, everyone should try to understand who some of the players are like how much it hurts the young players emotionally. Cade Cunningham is trying so hard to right the sunken ship. It hurts when everyone makes fun of the team struggles and rightfully so.

Your stunt #1 says it all. I live in Phx and watched Monty destroy the Suns from the inside out. I think Wiseman has potential. He just needs the right guy to develop that rawness.

The strategy of getting former top picks who are borderline busts from other teams for bargan prices has been a disaster. That strategy only works for teams who have good cultures to push the underachiever to reach their potential. Detroit in the place where guys just say "Fuck it, we're gonna suck anyways, why bother?" What Detroit needs to do is pay a few vets in free agency to set the tone and whip it's young bucks into shape, hopefully help them find an identity. They're going to have to overpay but is what it is.

I've said this all off-season. Detroit is STIFF and has poor ball movement capabilities. Even the Free-agents they brought in don't create shots or movement in the offense and that results in a bunch of tall players with nothing to do.

Well, because it was believed that as far as the Pistons were concerned the rebuild was over and they'd try to get in the play-in tournament. That level of losing you'd be expecting from the Portland Trail Blazers who everyone knew they'd be bad they moment they've traded Damian Lillard. Portland has 8 wins and their longest losing streak was 8 games. The Washington Wizards were also expected to be one the bottom teams after finally putting an end to the Bradley Beal era (and trading Porzingis to the Celtics), but their longest losing streak has been 9 games.

I know it's fun to dump on Monty but if you ask me it is the GM and some of the players. Some of these guys they have drafted just aren't as good as people made them out to be. So while I think takes some share of the blame this isn't fully on him as he doesn't have a lot to work with. No wonder Casey dip out as these kids aren't all right outside of Cade.

Cade is truly poison. Gives teams 5-7 extra possessions a night. This streak wouldn't happen without him. Cade dragged his father onto an NBA staff for he was groomed for iso ball since AAU and OSU. But he don't have the NBA set for it...teams happy to isolate him and take half dozen turnovers.

Cade is a prime example of how minor deficiencies, positional discrepancies, decision making, and size can work for you in NCAA/youth ball, but Iso with Cade in the NBA is a joke. Teams can put their 4 on him or any of their better defenders and they guarantee themselves a half dozen TOs...thats before Cade dishes out brick casserole. Any coach would be happy to let Pistons funnel thru him.

Problem with Cade is that he is poor shooter, inconsistent passer and defender, so while he puts up good numbers he is actually not good for team overall. Also he needs the ball to be effective so he takes away possession from others.
