Awesome can't wait to see your take on Death Stranding once it finally comes out.
Great video as always! Can't even imagine how much time you've spent on writing and structurizing material.. It always a pleasure to see such deep and yet understandable topics! Thanks a lot!

Thanks poplarmusic, I appreciate it! Haha yeah this one took a while but i wanted to do justice to Kojimas work.
I always love your videos. This one is also very enlightening. So fascinating to see how theme can influence every part of a game, which I always enjoy and try to do myself in my games. Great vid!

Beautiful video man
This video is amazing 👍 I’m a new subscriber thanks!
Maybe making a hideo Kohima game is like making a horcrux
Hideos games are expressions of his soul. There is more truth in his games than he can ever speak. He is a good communicator. I like his stuff, but not as much as my stuff which carries more truth.
Keep it up man.
Very Concise and well written, cheers.

Great video!! Death Stranding is such a perfect example of this stuff. Almost the entire gameplay loop is analagous to some of the themes of the game, it is amazing

Have you done a video like this for Miyazaki? More interesting to some.

I've done a video on dark souls and a general video about game designers in the past. Miyazaki is someone to consider doing a full video on though, ill keep it in mind.
Metal gear 1/2/3 are possibly the best games i played as a kid. Aside from Monkey Island 😅
anti-authoritarian yukio mishima? mishima tried a coup d'état , kidnapped a really importat politician, wanted to bring back bushido to post-war japan, has a film called 'patriotism' and has a manifesto on nationalism... i think you got a bit mixed up, nice video though

Hi Holden. You bring up a great point, I used the word anti authoritarian too loosely here. He resisted the prevailing order, but he wanted to reinstitute a new authority that hearkened back to the past, making him a reactionary. I should have been more specific with my description, or used a different word. Thanks for the input.
END THIS MEME
The theme of MGSV is RACE not PAIN.
I was getting into the vid until you lost me when the F.F.R.F. propagandists like Dawkins and Dennett were being mentioned.
Msg5 sucked
