True. Although, I would say this was a general outline of maintaining and controlling very common institutions of power that are near ubiquitous globally (tax collection, military/police, industry, etc.). Just like dealing with institutions of nuclear family and Christian conservatism is vitally necessary in the West and America especially, dealing with caste systems is essential but also specific to regional cultures. It's understandable that they did not cover it here, but they should do an episode on the subject at least.

The streamer arunannow covers south-east Asian politics and he does mention how socialists failed them in India, by not understanding the complexities of the region. So the upper castes abuse socialism in name only to their ends. Afaik he's some type of anarchist due to this development and believes things like prefiguration is a good start. I think we should allow different regions to handle their radical changes due to the complexities within their own societies. There was a recent incident where the marxist group CPI(M), that uses the concept of prefiguration, by helping on the ground in a way by supporting inter-caste marriages, had their office in Tamil Nadu be attacked by hooligans. So we can see who the problem is.

@@DinoCism no, and that's kind of the problem. We have never truly developed rail infrastructure, due to a few historic reasons (auto industry imperialism, to put it simply). Most of our transportation is through roadways, just like daddy USA. Well, even worse, but we at least have the excuse of being on the periphery to justify some of our horrible "decisions"

1:15:10 JT introduces the idea that past socialist projects (he cites the USSR specifically) failed due to too much ideologic purity. It would be interesting to hear JT try to back that up with historical evidence, we are supposed to be historical materialists after all.

It was certainly a factor, the USSR's rejection of cybernetics in the 50s which hampered its development of computer science and logistics engineering, helped empower liberal traitors in the later eras who confused the US cybernetic revolution for neoclassical economics working as described by capitalist ideologues

So could someone further explain the whole no elections thing, as I’m not sure if I misunderstood. I understand waiting until everything is stable and I get (especially as a British person) that currently there is an illusion of choice in elections, however I just couldn’t imagine the majority of people taking kindly to having no elections. Yes there would be control through unions and what not but people are stuck in there ways and I don’t think will take kindly to the removal of elections. or is this me completely misunderstanding this right now?
