Americans forbid their children from doing a lot of things, and then they secretly do it behind their backs, while Germans think it's better if their children do things under their supervision/with their knowledge. I like the German way a lot better.

Mandela said " speaking a language that a man know. You are speaking to his mind. Speaking his home language you are speaking to his heart " That's why in south Africa is so important to be fluent at least in 4/11 home languages

Germany in Football is like South Africa in Rugby. Both are very conservative and technically precise. And also, both Countries Won their respective World Cups 4 times.

We have different climates here. The severity of winter depends on which part of South Africa you're at. Both the North and the North Eastern part of the country have a warmer climate. With the Limpopo province being one of the warmest regions, winter there sometimes doesn't really feel like winter. But down to the South western region, the climate is cooler. So Johannesburg and Pretoria both have a warmer and dry winter because they're in the North Eastern part compared to Cape Town which is in the South Western part and has a cooler winter and more often experiences the most winter rain in the country.

Our winter weather varies depending on which province you're in but according to google the average temperatures in South Africa range from 15℃ to 36℃ in the summer and -2℃ to 26℃ in the winter. Cape Town has rain in winter as well which is different to the rest of the country. If you want to see animals easier in the bush, then winter is the best time because it gets very dense in summer due to the warm and rainy weather. Happy new year to you guys btw. I hope it only brings you blessings

Germans are not cold really. More like reserved and slow to warm up. The eternal fear of looking foolish and embarrassing yourself when being too friendly or "huggy" is still somehow engrained in us. But if you ask for help buying your train ticket and are nice about it, many of us (I certainly would) will be willing to miss their connection just to help you out. We are desperate to be nice and helpful, but rarely get the opportunity 😀

This was my experience too, but in the first few months no one wanted to talk to me because I hardly knew any German. By the time I knew enough German and felt confident enough to approach people, everyone would just answer me in German. Like, what was all that torture for???? Made me dislike the country that I eventually fell in love with and still love to this day and hope to visit again one day.

Germans also eat a lot of meat (some religious/esoteric veggies are rather an exception). There is a reason why Germany has also the biggest variety of different meat combinations (like most Wurst/Sausage diversity, most Ham diversity etc.). Thats not a true difference. The difference was rather the diversity of meat.

I regret taking my child to German without prior knowledge about their lax rules for young children. Had no idea till very late. It is not colder than Germany. Our houses are just not built for cold weather. Germans in summer get WILD. Oktoberfest!!! Never seen people that drunk in my whole life. They literally have police looking out for them and they get taken to an on-site clinic to sleep it off 😅

Even in SA, some schools do not have uniform. Also, universities do not have similar rules. I never had the check ins but I see the point in them currently.

Gotta say though, Germans love their meat and we eat lots of it. Basically in every meal. And there's a million dishes with pork and beef, also a thousand kind of sausages. It is true though that over the past 10 years a lot of people opted to be vegetarian and vegan

About the sleep overs: I find it really, REALLY weird when I watch American shows and the parents are intrusive to say the least, or fathers "watching" over their daughters. From a German perspective that is very intrusive, bordering on a very unhealthy relationship, if not outright creepy. If you brought up well your child (whether son or daughter) then you should trust them and when they are 16/17 they are young adults. An important caveat is that of course German teenagers tend to have longer relationships and it is not uncommon to have your first experience with someone you've been going out with at least for a couple of months if not years, which makes the boyfriend/girlfriend almost part of the family. By the way (at least some of) the Gernan footage, shows Frankfurt, which is also "my" city. :)

But you can't really prevent this through monitoring and bans. The rate of teenage pregnancy is higher in the US. A 14-year-old can also get a birth control pill here without requiring parental consent.@@TheDemouchetsREACT

@BongieBala I agree but even in South Africa,it depends on a race and also families,I was shocked to learn from my then colleague that she and her ex husband allow their young daughter to bring her boyfriend to stay with them for days, not only that but they would go pick up the boyfriend or take the daughter to the boyfriend's parent's,I will not mention the race they are,but it was shocking for me as a black South African.

this 'bringing a girl/guy home and overnight sleep' thing was also back in the past 'not liked' but over time with more enlightenment and liberal progress it isnt anymore that much of a deal (unless in very conservative/backward parts - today rather muslims). in the US (in some parts, in bigger cities its more like in Germany/Eurrope) or South Africa/Africa in general and many other regions there are just still more conservative/backward/less emancipated mentalities. The 'going to mall' is from the US and not just in South Africa but pretty much in most of Africa, Asia etc... and from a Berlin perspective the German guy talks nonsense and knows not much about partying. You have not just in Berlin who are pretty much in partying even as a general lifestyle (in South Africa ppl dont stay several days in a club). And you have of coursemuch more German car brands on the street in Germany than in South Africa. The German guy is full of wrong or halfcorrect stereotypes. Not a good video of them
