Great video and reaction!! It brings me back to one of my favorite concerts: I'm SO glad to have had the pleasure of seeing The (Mighty, Mighty) Dells (and I believe that all the original members were present, along with Blue Magic and The Chi-Lites), at a Mother's Day show at The Newark, NJ Symphony Hall back in the late 1980s. I grew up with their music thanks to what used to be called, "Soul Radio" stations back in the late 1960s and my mom and her mini 8 track "Greatest Hits" tape of theirs. The movie, "The Five Heartbeats" was inspired by their career and The Dells sung on the film's soundtrack as well.

Masterpiece music!❤ RIP to the legendary The Mighty Dells! Awesome singers!
It’s falsetto at it best !
At long last at long last AT LONG LAST!!! You're playing one of my all time favorite songs.
Wonderful!!!!!!
Welcome to the music I grew up on. Don't you wish you had musicians like this!!! We were blessed!!! I saw them live at 13 I'm now 63
The baddest vocal group of all time! Marvin Junior has held THAT NOTE for 24, 32, 37 and 47 seconds. These brothers are no joke! The Whispers called them " ... the baddest brothers on the planet" before they outperformed them---the Dells were in their 60s at the time. NO ONE COULD TOUCH THEM IN THEIR PRIME! You have experienced greatness, sir! Be proud. Gratitude. @@@*** Sembene Nathanyahu, author and creator of the future bestseller, "Whisper's Getting Louder" and baritone/2nd tenor lead for the vocal group Black Elegance/the Afrikan Connection, in Chicago ***@@@
Junior had some deep lungs🎶😎🎶
I ALWAYS loved the Dells!!!!
❤️❤️❤️. These guys are magic.
Jamel please find some more on these guys, The Dells. They're amazing!
Props to brutha Willie G requesting that street corner doo wop..such a slow classic dancing song with the one you love
What fortune that I was a yoyng teenager in the late 60s early 70s growing up with the Dells, Spinners, Smoky&Miracles, The Temps, Four Tops,The Stylistics, The Impressions, The Dramatics, The Chi-Lites...
The mighty, mighty mightily Dells Sultryyyyy soul ♥️ at it's best. Their voices are instruments in of itself.
You also need to listen to some classic Doo Wop/50's R&B, my parents music growing up!! The Dells have another classic from '56, "Oh What A Nite"!!

YES!! You finally did a reaction to the Mighty Mighty Dells....They have a Few GREAT songs to check out. I saw them perform live 20 years ago and they were STILL hitting those notes. One of the greatest vocal groups if all time . The Robert Townsend The Five Heartbeats is about The Dells
Thank you for reminding me why Soul and R&B are so important. This was a beautiful, fantastic song! And watching you react was fun! I was feeling those high notes along with ya!

My husband used to sing this to me. Rest in peace, hon.
Mr. Marvin Junior is the TRUTH!!!
Smooth as butter on biscuits. This is working in your garage on a summer evening with a cold beer music.
Thank you. It's been awhile since I've heard this. Love this song!
Always loved this song!
Just love when youngins finally hear our music no autotune....
This was the only 45 my parents would not allow my sister and myself to play when our boy friends were at the house.

Ok first comment LOL......had the pleasure of seeing them way back in the 70S . Very smooth .this is live and so good.
This was TALENT and MUSIC when it was at it's best.
The Dells' Greatest Hits was my favorite 8-track tape to listen to when my parents took us on summer road trips in the 70s!!!
Such marvelous harmonies and when the lead hols that note I get chill bumps on my chill bumps! Thanks for bringing back a wonderful memory. Keep on keeping on.

I've been waiting for this one. Thank you!
One soulful song..... When you get a chance listen to.... Oh what a night, by the dells. But they are amazing no matter what.... Ty for playing all your music
There's a version where Marvin Junior holds that note for 30 seconds!
FINALLY. Thank you very much. Growing up their would have battles with them vs the delfonics. Please react to some Delfonics too.
I love hearing them live!!!
We always address them as The Mighty Dells in the black community because of their different tone of each one and holding a note long.
wow 😳🥺
Nadine and oh what a night are awesome by the dells !
@ 6:47 WHEN "MARVIN JUNIOR" HOLDS THAT NOTE BBBAAABBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE ON THE RECORD FOR LIKE 13 ~ 15 SECONDS OR MORE I HAVE ONE OF THEIR ALBUM'S IT'S LIKE THE 3RD SONG OF 17 TRACKS I'VE TRIED TO SING IT MANY TIMES BUT ONE TIME I PASTED OUT I WOKE UP AT THE LAST SONG PLUS THESE SONGS MY FATHER WOULD PLAY WHEN I WAS A LITTLE KID & BABY IT'S PART OF MY CHILDHOOD THANKS FOR THIS AMAZING REACTION JAMEL_AKA_JAMAL ✌🏼& LO💚E MY BROTHER

Hey Jamal, I just saw this. Chicago band. We loved them in Chi- Town. The most awesome group of their time.
One of the great groups. The vocal ranges and power of the Dells is unmatched. Suggestion: listen to "I Can Sing a Rainbow".

I think this live performance was from a PBS show called "SOUL".
I love this live version. This is my "stranded on a desert island"song.
Color him father by The Winstons is a good one to react.
Haven't heard this song in a minute! Such a truly romantic song!
Thank you Jamel. I just really enjoy your reactions. Keep an look out for my next request and I'll take you to a whole new place. Thanks again.
His range is called second tenor. Smokey Robinson and Robin and Barry Gibb sang up there
Johnny is a tenor! But, he does something unique with his voice. That’s what he’s known for, maybe that’s why he was in 2 groups. And he said, “Don’t leave me baby!!!” Again, Magnificent!!! Ain’t nothing else to say!!!
Jamel, you gotta listen to, Oh What A Night
Oh how I remember this song- such beautiful vocals! And the message is LOYALTY and LOVE and Vulnerability. Three alien concepts in our world today. Let's bring them back!!
Anyways! That particular taping, was from Stan Latham. If you never heard that name, his daughter is Sanaa Latham, from Love & Basketball! I’m sure you know that name. Anyways, she is directing, while her father is directing too! At least about the last 4-6yrs. Johnny Carter has won 2 Rock & Roll Awards, 1 under his 1st group, & then The Dells! Well you got your lesson this day & I do LOVE music too!!! Take a listen to some more Dells! “Give Your Baby A Standing Ovation,” “The Love We Had Stays On My Mind.” Oh & by the way, there’s a version by “Dru Hill.” And if you get a chance, listen to some, Luther Van Dross, “A House Is Not A Home.” Well that’s it!!! Keep on keeping on
ive never heard this! outstanding!
Vocals, vocals, and more vocals. Thought I had heard all these classics this is new to me, thanks Jamel!

The sixties was a sugar pie. I loved the Dells and the Dellphonics back then. Falsetto voices in perfect harmony plying against deep male voices. Marvin Gay and Tammy Terrell were the cream of soul.

That's wild how he sang 3 different tones I thought it was 3 different people. Man that's real no auto tune
Yeah, man--the Dells! I heard them when I was a kid, early 70's--but they were around when my folks were in high school in the 50's--the Mighty Dells. No matter what era they are up-to-the-minute in the now. Another classic American group that always deliver !
Hi Jamel,, Please listen to Lou Christie. He has an awesome falsetto even today at 78 years old. He got his start in music in 1963 and was a teen idol. Please take a listen to some of his songs and start with The Gypsy Cried, then Two Faces Have I, then Lightning Strikes. Thank you. I love your channel and I love seeing all of your reactions. Thank you so much for providing us all with a lot of entertainment.

Loved this version!
The Mighty Dells!!! Marvin Junior was a beast! (R.I.P. 2013, age 77)
When I was in high school I listened to a soul radio station and every night they featured their "Royal Order Of Losers" and the last song each night was The Dells' "Stay In My Corner" at 10 pm so I couldn't go to sleep until it was done. LOVED that song!
