P.J. Goebbels and his wife Magda were insane. Why kill your own innocent children? One must be total insane to commit a crime like this. Further more the father of Magda's son from her first marriage ( Harald whom survived the war in Norway) offered to raise the children close to the end of the war. How sick can you be? Sad.

He was actually a POW, but where did you get the information from, that he "offered to raise the children close to the end of the war." If this is accurate, I would like to know more about it. (Edit, I see I had read that wrong. I don't know anything about Harald's father, what he may have offered to do, and how they may have responded.)

@@vickiecordon7887 That wasn't the issue, here. They said the children wouldn't have wanted to live in a post Nazi Germany, had they been able to decide for themselves. Somehow we all manage to live in such a world just fine, so good riddance to Goebbels, but it was still obviously a tragedy for the children. I still haven't seen any details on the first husband having offered, and how they responded.

@@Christmas-dg5xc wishful thinking of my part that the children would have survived the war and had a peaceful life after so much tragedy. Their parents committed very horrible things to other humans but the children did not have to pay for their parent's misguided actions.

Well if I had been Magda I would have got right out of that bunker. took the wanes with me and said "cheerio Joe." The Children would have been fine just like all the other children who survived the trauma of the second world war, Its the adults who should be ashamed, children are innocent. They weren't to blame.

@GER look at the photo's of the Russians with the death children's bodies!. Even the Russian soldiers were very sad when they discovered the death bodies of the Goebbels kids. You can see the emotions of the Russians faces. Although they were enemies!.

Ms eldee Magda would have been shot on sight by the Russians, if she tried what you suggest. If not that, she would have been hanged as a Nazi sympathizer at the Nuremberg Trial. She and her husband put their loyalty to Hitler over their love for their children. Shame on them.

I know this has been up for 14 years, but I just discovered it. It's good to have a short video to teach with. Most young people don't want to watch a long one about "old stuff that doesn't matter anymore." This is short and goes straight to the point; those people were nothing but thugs, thieves, and murderers, who were losers all their lives and have to blame someone else for it. That was their main premise; "it's not fair" waaaaa. I would say they were animals, but animals kill for necessity, not because they feel like it, because they don't like someone. I wouldn't want to put down animals in comparison. Such a "loving father" that guy. It sounds barbaric of me, but they way he used to wag that finger and hand? When spewing his hate? It was kinda....amusing...to see his burned up body with that nasty HAND still sticking out! What a creep. thank you

My heart cries for these children...

This was absolutely the most emotionally exhausting and distressing moments of the events that occurred in the last few days in Hitlers bunker. As terrible as it may sound, this may have been a most and last desperate choice made by their parents whom were so terrible that this may be the very best they could have been capable of knowing what awaited them just above the bunker doors. I think all these individuals were guilty of the worst atrocities known to such an extent that this may have been the best outcome for their children because i wouldn’t be surprised if people with such incredible grief, despair and anger may once becoming aware of who these children actually were could of suffered a terrible terrible fate by those who became aware that this may have been the best and most significant way to avenge their anger and rage against their parents.

Most of the clips came from various television documentaries about Joseph and Magda Goebbels. The couple filmed hours of home movies of themselves, and the Russians extensively filmed the discovery of the bodies, so there's a wealth of material out there.

@R I read that they poisoned themselves and their assistants suppose to set them on fire but the bodies were never cremated completely because the assistants ran away to avoid the Soviets.

What an horrible and awful tragedy.... The pictures of the dead children tear the heart...

Chocolate Cake with Hitler, by Emma Craigie written from Helga Goebbels persepective gives a really good insight to what it must've been like for these children experiencing this war even though they were somewhat protected, it shows that war is not just about adults, children are deeply affected too.

Such a sad end for the children . I read that the eldest girl had bruises around her mouth from resisting to take the cyanide. I had not realized that Josef and Magdalena goebbels had been burned post suicide also, like hitler and Eva.

@@user-ui3em2ev1j No the bruises came from 'the potion (sleep drink - morphine)' she had to drink before the cyanide was administered - that child knew what was happening. (Helga) - she had to be forced to drink it and resisted, but good mama 'helped' her to swallow it.

This is really sad. I don't know what is worst....being killed by your own parents or growing up and learning that your father was in league with the most hated man in history. The mental torture would have been enough as people would most likely have victimised the children for their association with Hitler.

Did you know that Magda Goebbels had a son with her first husband, Gunther Quandt? The son's name was Harald Quandt. He was a lieutenant in the Luftwaffe; he was captured by Allied troops in Italy in 1944, and he was released in 1947. His father passed away in 1954. Harald ran the Quandt Group with Herbert, his half-brother. Harald married Inge Bandekow and they had 5 daughters together.

Either do it as paineless as possible for the poor children or letting the second wave Red Army Mongolians rape them a 100 times and then smacked there heads with their rifles, thatis the choice Gobbels and Magda had in the final hours

This video is horrifying in it's brutal graphic display of this event towards the end. However, there was an especially devastating and clever element used in this video. The Music. That Stabat Mater was Pergolesi, and I recognized it from somewhere else. The Kyrie is either not Pergolesi or I have failed to find it on the internet. Both are very, Christian religious and devastating as a musical backdrop to this video.

Why?

When the opportunity arises, I will show my 2 young daughters this film. Not to glorify the film in any way, shape or form. But for them to see that there are many, many people in this world who have many different belief systems that collide with others beliefs. Goebbels was NOT an honorable man as I have read here in the comments section by some. He was a horrible human being who made millions suffer at his expense along with his atrocious Nazi regime. I am sickened by so many who.....

I think everyone needs to look at the bigger picture here... if they let their children survive, how would they have lived post-war? Knowing their parents took part in the Nazi regime - they'd probably be targets of death threats etc. Not to mention the probable embarrassment and shame. The parents took their childrens' lives so they wouldn't have to live like that. And no, I'm not justifying what they did, I'm just throwing in my 2c.

Very offensive that the beautiful classical piece ‘Stabat Mater’ by Pergolesi, and about the Blessed Virgin Mary, is the background of this video about these twisted Nazi monsters.

@wyatts326 Not every one of the 'Goebbels' chldren is mentioned here. Lothar Goebbels, son of Josephs' brother Hans was a good friend of mine while studying Law at Bonn. We were the same age. Lothar died in 1953. Unlike his cousins, he was not murdered by his parents. He committed suicide because no German would employ him because of his name. He was a fine, intelligent young man and like his unfortunate cousins,, was robbed of the happy, productive life to which he was fully entitled.

Other nazi leaders kids lived well after war. All of the children look pretty, how can a parent do such thing to their own children.

What evil people

Read the book 'Turning Evil' and you will understand much better what you have dipped into. these parents were evil people and evil is often most well disguised by it's ability to create a bubble around itself that can make you forget how cruel and cold it really is. These children wuld never know the evil their arents were responsible for. Perhaps they were spared. They were murdered by their own parents.

You seem to be laboring under the delusion that death is the worst thing a human being can suffer. I strongly disagree with you. And I think it is highly probable, that death was a better ending for these kids than a future in a world that would have reviled and humiliated them for things they had nothing to do with other than through blood relations. And that folks, sums up this argument.
