The Death of Memes
Комедия
While I don't actually think memes are going away any time soon, it's not unreasonable to assume that the current state of the medium is under considerable change. The pressure of the cycle of relevance will someday catch up to it, and we might be more confused than ever!

Mah d00d, you are ATR, (above the rest) of your generation in awareness and understanding! AND you're a great producer and editor, not to mention storyboard master. So don't ever stop what yer doin!!! Do me a favor tho and look up Dr Noriaki Kano's "model of customer delight", (about expectation/delight cycle) AND combine it with the speed at which technology is advancing our quantity and quality of media. Now focus it all in on a screen approximately 3inches by 6 inches, (cell screens) and BAM, you have a hot mess! It's like a large pane of glass with several cracks in it, (a handful of media options) that falls on the ground and gets SHATTERED. Now there is an OVERWHELMING amount, of options and producers of media. To make it worse, the next generations won't know nothing but small screens, (cell phones). Where it used to be easy to catch attention has changed dramatically. The last vestige of control through "television" networks that are dying as well, being replaced by cellular companies. Your goal, (if you choose to accept it) will be to understand what is going to happen next and how to stay on top! Yer schmart, I'm sure you'll figure it out. This message will now self-destruct. Smile. Thanks for great content. Peace, Honest.
This is a certified hood classic
I love the increasingly bizarre images you used for your greenscreen

I'm still amazed your channel hasn't exploded yet, I'm loving the sharp observations, the social commentary, insights and jokes. I am always pleasantly surprised that your videos make me think and reflect - you're nailing under promising and over delivering!
This was easily one of your top 3 videos of all time. The intro and opening statements were so good and got me hooked. At first I wasn't sure where you were going, but linking stand up comedy and it's downfall really clicked. I still feel there will always be a place for still image memes, but it's insane to think that short videos aren't the future of shareable comedy.
I love your continent man! It has really helped me through my dark era of watching home depot videos to fill the void my grandfather left! Keep it up!

I swear I thought you were at least a 1 million subscriber creator given the quality of the content. Thank you!
I don't much enjoy the modern short form video comedy, at least not the way it mostly is with its speed, meta and stupidity, I enjoy structure, and the crumbling means hundreds of thousands of things you enjoyed, whether years ago or yesterday will be automatically considered unenjoyable. This fast pace forms exclusiveness for the enjoyment of entertainment, and the souring of hours of work and effort to create something enjoyable for others. Its truly unfortunate that the classic meme is dying, not that those took hours, but I mean complex thought out skits and sketches when I refer to that work, which is also dying out.
Memes really have gotten worn out. My brother is absolutely hooked on shorts, but I've never gotten into it. Excellent work as usual sir, this was very well put together. I really hadn't thought about it, but it seems like Millenials may have been the last generation to produce any stand up comics, and Gen X'ers to produce any stand up comics worth listening to.
Every time I hear that damned dementia music, I have flashbacks. I can't stop it.
We often keep hearing Something like "You are limited only by your imagination" but we should take an conclusion that not only material resources aren't endless but also that cultural one's.
I think after memes there will be post-memes or something like memes but post-meta or post-comedy.
Great video again! Loved zoomer humour one too. Born in 86 but teach kids in gen z so find this really interesting!
Every time you come up in my feed I am amazed that you are not a bigger channel... Even as a GenXer, I think standup is done, I haven't really enjoyed a standup show in years despite growing up with them as my primary source of comedy.
Damn that intro is slick. Awesome vid!
My 11 yo nephews sense of humor is just quoting memes he likes and acting out the picture.... It scares me a little
I was scrolling trough reddit after your video. I wondered in the past where the parentheses suddenly came from in memes. After your video I realized it's because of the intertexuality of memes being discarded. Since memes are created faster and discarded faster the intertextuality is completely left out now. Now the context is put in parantheses after the punchline, so the context becomes the new punchline. Although the relatability and the intertextuality were the point of memes. (I don't know where I was going with this, but this is just my two cents based on this video.)
I missed this on upload day because I have a hectic work schedule, my life is in shambles, and that little bell icon on KZread irritates me and I refuse to ever click on it. Anyway. This was a nice content. Good job and the such. Glad to have subscribed.

Why is the editing so good?!?!?!?!??! ?!????
Yeah I mostly feel the same, it's a bit depressing, but I think that if you are not a complete normie you can find those sources of incredibly niche memes that make you really happy if you are capable of understanding them, for example what works for me are some small discord servers about chemistry, physics, engineering, 3D printing, electronics or rocketry. Just find the topics that fit your own hobbies or interests. I think (and hope) that these kinds of actually really *good* memes won't die... Good video btw, as always

@@MisterSweetProductions Most definitely good. I love the way you blend from scene to scene (or meme to meme) never fully calling out your framing devices, never quite copping to "what you're doing". It's meta meming about memes, and the result is as much a demonstration as it is a dissection. Excellent meta, man. I really like where you're going with your stuff.

I’m obsessed with it!
I will say that I think standup comedy can and does appeal to Gen Z, albeit in different ways. There are more female and openly LGBTQ comedians than ever before, for example, and younger millennials and older zoomers are starting to make their way into the standup scene, and the jokes that they tell better reflect the lives of the young people they appeal to.
Good video 👍
I've thought this since about 2020

Yeah, ifunny went downhill FAST. Nothing funny getting featured anymore
Too much meme in circulation is all. The watering down of quality is occuring.
I just know something is missing and now I know. I haven't seen memes for a while. There are still memes but I mean format memes that are images. It's getting old I admit but I'll miss it. I can't believe I'm witnessing the death of memes. Time is so fast. I haven't seen meme images for like a year. It's probably because I'm disconnected from meme groups but I haven't seen new formats. There are new types of memes tho. I've been on TikTok, there's a lot of funny videos and I see that memes are evolving to videos.
I still hold Area 51 memes to heart. 🙂
