This is my view - while honest people is rare, this incidence is more related to the economic situation... Almost all ppl here in India earn pretty good enough that they don't feel like doing such cheap acts... They feel empathetic towards the person who would've lost it too... So ppl here in India would think n give it back... But yes honesty is also still required, however the economic situation also matters

I am from Mumbai. Some years back I went to Karachi and Hyderabad to see my relatives. On the way to Hyderabad, one local policeman stopped us for some enquiry. I was surprised to know that he was a Punjabi. A Punjabi in local Karachi police!! Here in Mumbai we only have local Marathi people as local policeman except in higher posts. This is one example of the idiocity which led to this condition!

Finally, someone spoke for us, for our home Karachi. Thank you Muzammil for raising your voice for us people of Karachi. It's really heart breaking to see my city in this fucked up condition. We are always in stress. Can't walk on the streets, can't hangout in the parks, can't go to ATM, can't use mobile phones outside of home and much more. We have been living in inhuman condition for years now and we are tired of it. Most of the policemen are from internal Sindh and they don't give a F about Karachi and the crime happening here. But still we are hopeful, someday this city will become safe and beautiful again just like it was before in 1960s.

One small correction, Safe city pilot project was installed and active in Karachi in 2006, the major arteries (signal free corridors) were covered , and thevproject was supposed to be expanded, but just like all the other projects started by mayors Mustafa Kamal and Naimatullah Khan, this was also shut down by Sindh government. Just to give an example of incompetancy of Sindh govt, the local govt minister after being on position for 4 years (2008 to 2012), said on TV interview, that it was after 3 years his ministry found out that all the budget they allocated to municipal authority was going away in salary of employees, leaving nothing for maintainance and development. It took him 3 years to realize something that he should have known before even planning for the first budget!! 3 years !! And he was proudly announcing this as if he had discovered the cure for cancer.

In those days we have literally seen Bori bund lashain of our neighbors , colleagues, and friends 😢. Karachi is much better than it was 20 to 30 years ago though it's worse than it was 50 years ago and the worst than 75 years ago. Simple as that.

@@queenPAK That is not true. The bori band bodies belonged to political workers mainly MQM factions, ANP and PPP. It never targeted unaffiliated citizens. In contrast, today everybody is a target so the reality is that it is MUCH MORE DANGEROUS now.

Urdu speaking people went to Karachi from India hoping for a better life and this is what they got.

Your Dadaji & Dadiji did not shift to India from Pakistan They Fled Towards India for their lives from Pakistan .😁😁😁😁 I as a Hindu brahmin Bengali along my Other Non Refugee a few from East Punjab side friends used to laugh at those Punjabi Hindu classmates whose Father and Grandfather Fled From Pakistan From 1981 -Till my Graduation in 1989 ( 12 year old to 20 year old ) We Always used to laugh and joke that these Hindu West Punjabi Refugees 's are noting but a Headache Don't mix with us Spare us Pure Hindu Main Land Indians Our family is from India not Refugees

The only fault of Karachi is it is part of Sindh unfortunately. Had it been part of any other province, we would've been living a much better life. This is the third consecutive tenure of PPP and with each passing year, the situation of the city becomes even worse. Allah hamari in kameenon se jaan churaye (Ameen)

I am from Karachi, I have left that city, and am working towards leaving this country. Unless people start demanding decentralization of taxes, meaning tax is collected and spend locally (ideally by block) instead of federaly, until then I don't care what happens to people of Pakistan, they are getting rightly deserved results of wanting everything to be centralized and solved by statism. Politicians have no external incentive to be competent or moral. Expecting them to be is an insane world view.

Today I was at the meeting with prime minister in cm house we asked the pm to make Karachi safe city like Lahore, pm asked the cm and mr moorad Ali Shah cm of sindh said safe city project will finish in 2 years. just imagine 2 years for criminals to have party in khi and the best part was IG Sindh was also in the meeting he never uttered a word about lawlessness in Karachi.

1980s mein Altaf Hussain ne inhi sari problems ko highlight kar ke tehreek shuru ki thi but MQM aur Altaf Hussain dono ko Ghaddar ka label laga kar khatam kar dya. And it’s been 24 years into 21st century but aj bhi same wo hi maslay hain only the condition is even worse. Aap ka shukrya for raising voice for these issues, but nothing will change unless citizens of Karachi will have the power to run their city. Lekin PPP, Rangers, Army, mafias, aur Federal Government ke hote hue ye impossible hai. Sab ne mil kar noch khaya hai karachi ko. Only a citizen of Karachi can understand the pain and helplessness and the fear with which they live in that city. I left my beloved city last year and moved abroad, and after living peacefully in a first world country for a year I’ve realised how much trauma it causes living in a city like Karachi.

Aik aam Mohajir ke liye kuch bhe nahi kiya siwai paisa lootnay ke aur aapas me aik dosray ko qatal karnay ke. MQM ke aapas ke larai me hazaron mohajir naujawan maray gaye aur bohut se family me koi larka nahi bachcha aur unke behene jism farooshi kar ke ghar ka kharcha chala rahi hain.

Sir thank you for speaking about Karachi's issues. It seems like a "dis-onwed' city. I myself fall in the stat of those Pakistani who have migrated recently in 2023, and the stress about our loved ones living in KHI haunts us day and night. Had Immigration been easy for ANY country, we would have migrated there. It seems like we can't make our voices heard in that city coming from a born Karachiites, who has migrated at the age of 25.

Thank you for making this video Muzammil. I am a Karachitte but no longer live in Pakistan. The deploring situation has made many of us residents feel dejected, depressed and disillusioned. This city still has amazing potential because it is truly is a urban/cosmopolitan in spirit. Karachi & Hyderabad should be a separate province but not sure if this will ever going to be a reality.

Here from Karachi, Muzammil, you correctly pointed out, we are afraid to even stop at the signal at night due to the fear of snatching. It has been normalized so much, and people are sensitized to the extent that they don't even go to file an FIR for reporting snatching cases because they know the whole day will be wasted running after police officers.
