I love how steady this weapon is. I believe if it had stopping power it would be way too OP. Kinda like shredder autopistol

Love the gun now with all the rending perks, but the lack of stagger really makes me swap back to the autogun.

Love the recon. It's everything a lazgun should be. Zero recoil, huge mag size, very high rate of fire. It's effortless to line up a half dozen head shots, which is about what it takes to actually kill anything. That part isn't great, but the snappyness of the gun helps make up for it.

nice, get to see this gameplay as promised from the previous video i'm also enjoying the buff to surgical on a lucius 3, since if you pace out your shots, you can effectively go an entire mission without ammo, this no ammo on crit really solidifies lasgun superiority

That cosmetic combo you have goes insanely hard

Playing a similar build. Feels really great with the damage you can dish out. Agree, ammo shortage is nearly never an issue, I find myself even spamming into hordes, just to diminish them a little. What I find difficult to handle is the damage you receive once your toughness drops below 70%. If you get cornered and take health damage, you die extremely fast. Which just feels weird, because gunners deal nearly no damage with some DMR on your curios. So scab-bombers, or flamers are bascially a death sentence if they manage to hit you.

Flamers and Bombers are always the bane of my existence no matter what I do. But yeah this build is solid and pretty easy to use overall. I do miss the grenade regen though.

Ran into the same issue with this build, but I found you really don't need the 25% ammo reserve as long as you're even a little judicious. You can spend those 2 points at the bottom of left tree and get the nade regen and I think it still works great.

Yeah, you need the no ammo use on crit talent to make the recons feel good you only get ammo issues when you get a 2+ ogryn gun lugger game. I've found the vet tree interesting because without keystones at the bottom I don't feel bad if I take multiple paths to get some interesting talents. Been really enjoying Smoke grenades with ally pickup shout and burny recon, feels like I can support the team quite a bit while still being able to deal with elites and a bleed chainsword if we get lots of ogryn. Probably a less useful build with a prebuilt group but very nice to take into quickplay.

@@ginjaBRETTman Ah I missed that on your skilltree. I'm using the grenade regen but had to let go of the rending talent.I think grenade generation just gives you a tad more freedom.

Gonna hop on my veteran tomorrow and give this a whirl. Looks fun as hell

The rending talents are so good on this gun that Dum Dum is now better than Infernus for most mobs. Headhunter remains the best blessing

I believe the devil has so much more stamina and utility compared to the power sword where it's better at cleaving but awful at movement

Power sword can 1 shot clearer ranks of the horde with heavy attacks while mine with cycler an cleave bonus I can light attack 4 times an clean a full horde row. It is slower moving wise tho but im use to it. Sure does feel weaker without the power on tho found I now have to cycle the power on to confirm my kills

Devils Claw gives much more mobility but less armour piercing than the Power Sword. If you can get consistent headshots the Devils Claw will serve you just fine.

managed to get a good roll with this mk d with infernus and headhunter, couple it with a full crit and rending build and you're COOKING shit

After the nerfs to VId Recon Lasgun, did you switch to one of the other versions or a totally different weapon?

It still performs okay, you just cant melt crushers anymore. Headhunters and infantry autoguns are probably a bit more impactful now.

Yeah mines the harder hitting slower fire rate but with around 87 per shit im shredding anyone not in good armour. An thats what the kraks are for any way

Typically I do too, but I found in testing that this max rate of fire Recon Lasgun works much better for this build.

I like the recon lasgun but using anything but the bolter feels like the wrong choice, also im used to bullshit recoil because i use the automatic railway rifle in fallout 76 (sniper-like recoil with 10 rounds and a fire rate of 100 rounds per second making you face the sky even while aiming all the way down) , the bolter by comparison feels like the recon lasgun

I use FSR on the 'balanced' setting which helps immensely. Use that if you have an AMD card or DLSS if you have Nvidia.

I don't understand your build. Why don't you take extra crit chances (+5% near the +1 grenade) and the mending perks ?

To be able to afford the 'extra ammo' and 'toughness on elite kill' talents. However, as some others have suggested, you could probably manage without some of those in favour of grenade talents instead. Purely down to personal preference, and this was just what I was trying at the time.

You're missing 'Onslaught' my dude... if you can cram more rending then good, but Onslaught is all you need for recon. You can use the leftover points for DEF or Utility. 'Agile Engagement' + 'Onslaught' is broken asf, use it before it's gone. Was checking out videos to see were people were on Recon and mostly no one knows. You're welcome.

A gun that shoots laser beams wouldn't have recoil, there's no moving parts. The recoil in modern weapons with conventional ammo is from the explosion of the gunpowder and the reciprocation of the bolt carrier group.

I obtained a godroll recon for completing an auric mission and I must confess... Helbore 3 is still way better than this gun

Maybe you guys are just real good but this game seems easier then Vermintide. Not saying it’s easy by any means, it looks as tough but it seems to be more offensive directed. Not as much blocking, dodging and weaving, more attack and push forward. Been waiting for it to drop on PS5 so I can give it a try.

I'd call them about even. I found it much easier to solo and clutch in Vermintide 2 because no shooter squads, but generally the melee combat and bosses are a bit easier in Darktide. More focus on team power in Darktide rather than individual power in Vermintide with things like Toughness vs. Temp health. Up to personal preference I think.

i will admit its a good lasgun, I just prefer the balanced mobility, sights and one-shot kill capability of the Kantrael Lasgun(heavy and mid) especially if you get some good perks on it, and can acquire your targets fast...i personally despise what they did to the hellbore tho, look at how they massacred my boi!!!.

You are not using one single rending node dude, wtf...
