although I'm not a beginner anymore, I appreciate how this guide was setup. I liked how you cut the final gameplay into parts and then made your way up, then combine these parts together to make the final gameplay. You didn't throw everything at the viewers face while showing some gameplay in the background, you made sure that each point at least reaches. Great work SSSmoke.

The fact that these are the beginner tips is insane to me

I had made it through Human difficulty without trouble, began getting my ass handed to me on SoS (I forgot Devil Hunter existed for a moment. ) Then I watched this, applied it, and now I'm consistently getting A or S ranks, sometimes even getting SS and a SSS once. As a success story of this guide, thank you very much.

I don't know if you said this but I don't think you did, and it's important: For the basic 4-hit melee combo, pausing before the final hit will make it deal much more damage. Learn to time the pause just right. If you pause for too long, you'll have to restart the combo. If you don't pause for long enough, you'll just end up doing the normal combo. Try to make the pause as short as possible in order to make it faster. This also applies to all combos involving pauses. Great video, man! Got some great tips, especially with Exceeding with Air Taunt. Not many people know that, and it's super easy to Max-Act.

That move is actually a seperate move. That is part of Combo D I believe, it is the same attack as the default 4 swing combo that Nero does. It is kind of weird to understand but Combo A, the basic 4 swing combo you have unlocked from the very beginning is the normal attack, Combo D however requires you to wait a moment before pressing that last-button. To further cement this, you can tell the difference between the two attacks by: Combo A will attack the enemy and keep them on the ground, Combo D will launch the enemy up in the air on the slam, this is really useful for enemies like Judecca or Fury where you want to keep them in the air without doing a "launch" move that will cause them to reset their stun-state. You can also tell slightly by the animation, as Nero will propel himself forward more and the Red Queen will go higher in the air before he smacks it back down. TL;DR It's easier to understand that this isn't a TIP but an actual seperate move from Combo A with different properties.

I did write down though all the things that I thought would be good to go over and showcase to players, incase you wanted to read it I'll just copy&paste here: - Jump-Cancel - Faster Exceeds - Restores all one-time moves - Cancel exceed knockback - Faster Combo - Attack Buffering - Buffering for exceed charge - Devil Trigger Explosion - More air-height - Useful to stop Nero from wrong attacks - Damage - I-frames - Blue Rose - Delayed Charge Shot Explosion useage - Knockback stun - Useful for juggling

Serious: consider changing controls for every character as soon as possible to learn your muscle memory better combos. Unfortunately for me I did not and now I both learn and unlearn the combos, which is extra confusing. Nero: Y melee X exceed A jump B gadget RB dt RT lock on LB destroy LT gun BACK taunt + dt This way you can practice melee and exceed timing and also you can easily hold LT for gun power shot. V: Y kitten X boost pet A jump B cane RB dt RT lock on LB what was that ? LT chimken BACK taunt Similar to Nero, V's kitten does the combos and chimken's skills are mostly based on holding the button. El Donte: Y melee X melee swap A jump B style RB dt RT lock on LB gun swap LT gun BACK taunt + styles This way you can easier swap weapons to extend the combos, especially since El Donte will swap a weapon after performing the current's weapon animation (ie. Y slash to X swap Y punch)

This just makes me sad, since I'm new to the game yet I fail combo's. The rating system I'm always focused on cause its basically saying, "hey get high rank or you suck" this is for me at least.

Phew, I'm glad I'm not the only guy who started his combos in the air rather than on the ground lol Granted Nero's BnB combo is technically the ground one, I personally liked starting from the air since his air combo is one of the best next to Dante's. It sets up a lot of damage for your next attack, plus it's safe since you're in the air.

I actually had no idea about the Exceed Air Taunt holy shit. I was already doing quite a few of these, but I need to expand my repertoire of stylish moves.

Do I have to wait a bit after pressing the first two y's, or do I just input the whole thing at once?

SPOILERS Honestly surprised there are no Buster Finishers in this guide. The breaker is good for it yeah but after completing the game you get access to the DMC4 Buster and its honestly the best damaging finisher for any combo.
