Prot is close to being perfect by reverting the change from SP to AP with Holy Shield, and increasing the spell damage coefficient from 5% to 30-40% so Holy Shield deals more damage. Or, making it scale with block value instead of SP, would synergize well with ShoR. But we need AP since our main damage comes from melee hits, SoM, HoTR, and ShoR. Additionaly a 10% AP scaling to ShoR can be a nice addition. Also make Art of War work with Avenging Shield, it's a great ability and we want to use it more. PS Happy BIRTHDAY!!!

I have a feeling sod is using the rune system to test new abilities out to make it fun to find and see what works and what doesn’t. Eventually when they make Classic plus they will bake the abilities into the class trees .

Just got both my Arms Warrior and Hunter to 40 this weekend and my guild helped me get mounts for both. I took a break from retail to try SoD and I guess I’m addicted now 😂

My phase 3 experience sucked and i lost a ton of interest but like a holy beacon in the darkness, the hydration nation calls my name, im getting excited again.

The 1.12 core talents for most classes and specializations was a rough draft. Look at a lot of the talents in Arms , BM and Holy Pala, a lot of talents that just don’t feel impactful but you have to take to get further down.

Happy Don’t Get Shot in Minecraft Day

While Improved SoR increase the final dmg of SoM, it only increase the base dmg of SoR. This need changes not only for SoD, but for era servers too. For the SoC gameplay, they still need to change the mana regen to somewhere else, for holy to help with the mana regen to. If comparing to the horde Shamanistic Rage, only paladins that are doing dmg can give mana to the raid, while every shaman spec can help. Happy birthday =)

At the start of SoD the devs have said. "We can't change talent trees because it would effect with Era/HC." IT would appear that the Devs have figured out how to keep the changes apart from each other now. At this point, could they remove runes and just change talents slightly instead going forward?

I personally wish they would give arms warrior some more love, i do like the death grip and boost to bleed rend damage but we used to be gods in pvp 😢

They have to make Seal of Command have a higher proc ammount. from max of 7 per minute to 10 or 12 and it would be equal to som. WIth that everyone could play their way.

Adjusting talents is a good idea. I personally thought and hoped that is all blizzard would do for a classic plus version of the game. Reworked and improved talent trees maybe add some new talents to expand on the trees. Then add some baseline abilities like crusader strike. I have sadly quit SOD because it just feels like retail to me

It's hard to say with the fast 2 hand and slow 2 hand which will be better, because I imagine getting something like BRE is going to be better than most fast 2 hand. The problem with SoC is that there is 7 ppm built into it, they need to increase it for the seal to make sense, even for seal twisting with righteous being able to crit, seal twisting righteous might be better.

I agree with your conclusion. I think we may see some big talent reworks now that it's possible, probably in next phase since it's too late to do big changes now. It started with shadowform talent and stormstrike, but now its all a bit on paladins and all over hunter. I've heard boomkins wanting it. I know prot paladins want more value from going holy for consecrate. I'd love to see some more shockadin love deep in holy tree. Deep prot tree adding more value to prot, tanks shouldn't feel compelled to be going shockadin or deep ret imo lol. Arms can get some PvE love as a warrior. Maybe some smite priest love in the disc or holy tree. The arcane talent tree for mages.

I've commented this already on 2 of your videos. They are extremely limited in what they can do because they are using the Classic ERA Servers. They said they can't edit abilities without it messing up ERA and Hardcore Server. Most Abilities have the wrong Range indicator, Talents discriptions cannot be edited because it would mess up ERA + Hardcore Talent trees. Basically they can only edit and design new things becauses changing anything that is in the base kit messes it up ERA and Hardcore. They should of done SoD on TBC 3.4 and deleted the Outlands Portal. If they did this we would have had version of the game where they could edit abilities and talents and no mess anything up because there isn't a TBC ERA server. SoD will always be extremely limited for this reason.

That is extremely weird that SOD servers have any connection to the Era end if not on the same client/server? It should be separate this way they can test things on the back end without issues/errors to the original Classic/HC servers to cause no interruptions on them. You would think that is how it should be handled to give the freedom to edit what they want on this seasonal realm and fix things via PTR, there own dev internal testing, etc. However, I mean it is what it is at this point. They already have touched talents on our spec and I am hearing other classes have had the same treatment as well. I do wish maybe incentivizing more passive books at this point if anything since that was something we got during Phase 2. That can be an answer to at least some assistance to abilities/talents lacking that require some buffs overall.

@@HelloJTello I know the server thing is retarded but sadly its Blizzard so it doesn't suprise me they took maximum shortcuts. I'm one of the lucky people because I really like Seal Twisting so I think Ret is Shaping up fine. People expected SoD to have fully reworked stuff but Phase 3 basically confirmed we were only gonna get enhanced Class Abilities and Passives, no new ones which is sad. I think what sets Paladin up to fail is every spec of the class other than Holy was heavily reworked and changed every expansion. This means that the enhancements other specs and classes get from future expansions doesn't translate well for Paladin's. Ret right now is some TBC/WoTLK Hybrid where we have a lot of buttons to be spammy like CS, DS and Conc but we also have Seal of Blood for Twisting. I think this is where the Paladin's downfall lies. You got more Hardcore Rets like me wanting Twisting and more Casual or WoTLK enjoyer Rets wanting a spammy easy rotation and Blizzard is stuck in the middle unsure who to caiter too. Sadly a full Spec or Class Rework is out of the scope of SoD so this leaves a tricky situation, especially since SoD appears to be more Casual Focused so Seal Twisting now could upset a lot of people. It's really Blizzards Fault for intentionally removing it at the start as people wouldn't be as pissed of if it was there from the get go and they would of got a lot more Data than they have now and could of made 2 playstyles and balanced them better. All I can promise you is nobody on that Dev team understands Classic Paladin and has never played one properly. Aggrend was using DS and Command in Phase 2 when everyone else was using ACP and Exo spam. Thats how out of touch they are with Paladin and is why they are relying on Ret Discord to guide them because they have no clue what Seal Twisting probably is or how it works. Whats crazy is I think that orignal tease of Ret with Cleaving Seal of Blood Twisting was probably the best thing they came up with and they removed it...

Hey Amigo, much love to ya! I really praying that they buff Slow 2hand style. Its really really sad if we need to hope and grind Typhooon. Man they need to change Imp. Hammer of Wrath Rune, which is the contenter for PP. Give Imp. Hammer of Wrath Rune a procc on SoC to be useable above 20% hp or a chance on Autoattacks. I'm so sad, that as a EU player I cannot post on PTR forums :(

yea I am hoping for good synergy between 2h fast/slow gameplay 👌🏼 And PP will overtake imp. HoW in PVE atm until further notice. Having more Exo uptime to spam over waiting for Execute just makes more prio damage to Exo itself. Now idk what they will do with SoC, but I love that talent and would love to see it more in the meta mix of PVE/PVP in general.

@@HelloJTello Exactly, imp. HoW was already not a very good rune and only taken since PP wasn't needed in the old AoW. But in the current state the rune is really lacking power. Also happy birthday! sorry I skipped a bit the beginning , since I was excited that you had a section with fast vs. slow 2handers :D

Hey Tello, much love to ya brother, dude I finally logged into sod this morning, I done did it, it's been about 5 weeks.... my guildies are gone, and I straight up feel overwhelmed... Do you have any suggestions of what I should be doing. What dungeons I should run at 50? I am gonna continue to knock out some blood moon, but other than that and AB I feel like there isn't much to do sadly I do have some runes left to collect and I will. Heck incursions screwed me up so much I don't even know where I should be questing at 😂.I wanna get back into SOD I love the classic vibes it still provides.

I recommend playing the game at your own pace homie. It's tough out here and yea guilds definitely fall apart. I advise checking out the wowhead guides for were to pre-quest and also get in touch with discord communities for your class & server, you never know who you may meet and wind up questing, doing dungeons with, or heck even raids! wish you luck 💪🏼

What are your thoughts on fixing 2h paladin? I’ve found with 4x dps and 3x dps hammer of the righteous ability, 1h is better dps with exorcism and things like that. Literally full ret 1h does more damage, especially in aoe situations. I think they need to add a wrist rune that is a 2h only ability that is a 10 or 15 sec cooldown, like final verdict or something new. I also think they should just make a cloak rune that allows for seal twisting, if they want us to do that lame thing so bad. I’d prefer they just combine martyr and command seal into a cloak rune, or make it do 15 sec of both deals. Just I mean man, where’s wake of ashes? Is that onnashbrjngrr! Remember in p3 druids got catnip and we just had to keep using pummeler?

I mean 1x of the paladins I know brought up a good point with SoC auto proc'n or higher chance to proc when DS/CS is used. Or SoC applies amplified effects if a weapon with slow speed, ex: 3.40 or higher is used, etc. So 4.00 would be amazing overall. Idk the exact answer to the resolution unless that 6pc set really is amazing changes until we see it. However I dont want to see more retail things but rather a new way or better way to benefit slow weapon speed playstyles.

In p3 yes, but in p4 you need purifying power to keep exo spamming. Not sure if HoTR is worth the tradeoff.

Isn’t the fast play style gone? I thought they got rid of the normalization on seal of the martyr .

Nah Fast 2h Sul'Thraze is outperforming Arcanite Reaper atm after buffs to AoW from its original nerfs and SoM is normalized still. Using PP over imprv HoW is the meta atm for Rets. So its a debate rn to assist slow 2h playstyle otherwise were back to fast 2h weapons again.

Vindication also granted 15% str and agi.. so it was a nerf. Also currently on PTR Sheathe of Light is spell damage and not spell power, i couldnt find notes on this so im hoping its a bug? Cuz its an awful change.

Ah yes that makes sense for its nerf on the notes, my brain moves hella fast when tryna get my points across so good looks 👌🏼 and maybe something on the forums about SoL in regards to that. I know they move stuff from SoL to Fanaticism from what I heard. Ima look into it.

@HelloJTello Yeah, they did move the flash of light HoT effect to Fanaticism. But on PTR, Sheathe been changed to spell damage instead of spell power, like it is in phase 3. So our heals are really weak

Yea our SoM has been changed from the mana returns which was crazy back than for like a week or so, now is like meh at best. Overall def need more than 1/2 Paladins in your raid team for sure.
