@@truthoftheuniverse4179 so, if your sister was as hot as Mystique, you'd bang her? That's pretty much how Xavier saw her. He studied mutation, so he was mutant blind and saw Raven as a good friend and like a sister. Raven saw Xavier as a hero and as the only person who would accept her as she was and when your only options are one person who accepts you for you, or being alone, attraction often goes to the latter. I'm sure that Xavier saw Raven as beautiful, but he isn't like the thirsty "I'll bang anything" generation of today. The emotional attraction was mutual, but not the depth of it. The sexual attraction wasn't mutual because Xavier had friendship blinders on. Had Xavier and Raven gotten together, it would've ended badly because you don't date your heroes because they're your heroes or because they're your only option. You see how easily she was attracted to Beast and Magneto? They were also appealing to her, although in different ways. Beast appealed to her need to be different, which is unhealthy while Magnetic was attracted to the real her.

7:56 Christ Almighty! Did you watch ALL of the films? In DOFP, Logan hadn't gotten his adamantium yet. At the end of the movie, he's fished out of the water by the military, which what lead up to his getting adamantium laced to his bones. You also seem to not understand that the original trilogy, Origins: Wolverine, and the "prequels" were done by different entities and the prequels had to fix a lot of mistakes. Also, if you take Origins: Wolverine seriously, you're not the right person to critique the whole series.

8:07 apparently the "cure" wasn't permanent. It also wasn't permanent in DOFP, which is why Xavier and Hank kept vials of it. Yes different sources, but it wasn't stated in X3 that the cyre was permanent. Also, Xavier didn't die because he transferred his consciousness into a coma patient. The only two things about that which made no sense were that the body was his generic double and he still had his powers in a different body? That's just. . .no.

Yeah but at least the characters are consistent, it’s not like they hired Michael Douglas to play Hank Pym in 2015 and then casted an actor just ten years younger than him to portray him in the 70’s scene in Endgame. Meanwhile you got Striker in this franchise who clearly has Benjamin Button disease or some shit

@@mrcritical6751 sure, yeah. However, they still cast the same actors for different roles, and if you notice it, it's distracting. Plus you do get to see continuity errors of the Fox-Men's nature. Such as when in Age of Ultron, in a post-crrdits scene, we see Thanos putting on the infinity gauntlet, but in Infinity War, which came out three years after, we are told Thanos got the gauntlet only recently.

We have no idea when that scene at the end of Age Of Ultron takes place, also yeah the recasting of their same actors is distracting but at least it’s typically for smaller roles or they give explanations like how they rationalised casting one of the soldiers from Captain America as the principle from Spider-man Homecoming by putting a picture of the actor in his WW2 uniform on his desk to hint that he’s descended from him or saying Martin Starr is playing an older version of his character from Incredible Hulk. The only really questionable one is Gemma Chan being brought back for Eternals

Well actually, with sabretooth, he DID become more animalistic over time. a comic (i think xmen 100 but im probably wrong) its revealed that the mutation wolverine and sabertooth carry will eventually devolve them into beasts after a certain period of time, but wolverine getting the adiantum pretty much completely halted the de evolution process. sabretooth, however, grew into the animal he was because he didnt have any protection to prevent his bones and muscles to stop changing. in xmen origins, you can see that victor would act in very animalistic ways (running on all fours, crawling, growling and snarling, etc), and wolverine, prior to the adamantium implants, would act slightly animalistic as well.

  • @mccarthy5825

I read xmen and things like Wolverine, Cable, X factor/force... Even Excalibur... From Xcutioners Saga to after Onslaught and after magneto ripped the adamantium out and he went off, after Cyber broke his claws... Then when Genesis tried to bond Cybers skeleton to Logan he went mental and became totally feral and looked like an animal with spiky ragged claws and big fangs etc... Electra had to help him... I remember in some of those Xavier files he kept on how to kill the team... He mentioned how the adamantium was poisoning wolverine constantly so his mutation and healing factor were very taxed... Without it a life threatening injury to him previously was an annoyance now... So yeah you are dead correct my friend! It was a crazy run and I wasn't too fond of it but it had some gems of moments.

Sabertooth could actually have a canon explanation of why he devolved. Wolverine’s mutation would eventually get him into a permanently feral state where he’d become increasingly more of an animal, but his adamantium surgery is what blocked that. (Mac from Predator's version of the character is clearly his adopted black son who took his name) and Logan is the canon future to this timeline First Class, Days of Future Past (the changed timeline version), Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix (along with the deadpool movies) and New Mutants are all in the fixed timeline where Mystique didnt kill trask or some shit.

X-men 1 got the ball rolling for superhero movies to be taken seriously, but the first SpiderMan movie IS the reason that the superhero genre is alive now. Why do I say this? Because in spite of its campiness, it was the highest grossing movie in the US the year it came out, and third highest grossing worldwide, only barely losing to LoTR: 2 towers, and Chamber of secrets, which ended up doing very well internationally. -Attack of the clones? Not even close -James Bond: Die another day? Not even close Even kids movies like Ice Age, Lilo & Stitch, or Scooby Doo? Not even close. Without SpiderMan, I’m 100% positive the superhero genre would not be anywhere close to where it is today

I totally agree. The first X-Men may have been the first in the genre as we know it today, but the first Spider-Man was the first GOOD film in the genre. But being faithful to the source material is something that the X-films know little to nothing about.

The easiest explanation for why the adamantium bullets affect wolverine and his clone differently is that they were probably different calibers. Regular bullets are made out of similar materials to each other but if you shoot someone in the chest with a .22 caliber round it will create a hole while shooting someone in the chest from the same distance with a .357 will make a damn crater in their sternum.

Aging They don't age because it's a recast. Not a problem, though I suppose Xavier could have had his aging slowed by Apocalypse and he started aging again by the late 2000s, when the Deadpool films take place based on the Year of the Dog reference, and stress and using his powers a lot accelerated his aging to how he looks 2023-2029. Sabertooth Read X-Men 2: Prequel. Sabertooth was experimented on by Striker and was mutated further, his memories becoming clustered. Xavier He used his powers to appear as if he could walk or, as stated in the film, Xavier uses too much of the serum to block his powers completely. Pahaps he takes low doses so that he can mildly use his abilities. Beast Beast is just surprised a mutant could do that. His was purely science. He actually appeared in X2: X-Men United as a regular human, so clearly he did use that serum still. Emma Frost Emma Silverfox is not Emma Frost. Different characters. This is confirmed canon. Moria Mictaggart So? They can still be the same character. Caliban So? They can still be the same character. Psylocke We don't know that's Psylocke. Sentinels Trask from The Last Stand isn't Bolivar Trask. He's black, for starters, and his full name was never revealed. The danger room just played a dystopian future scenario, not necessarily Sentinels, or they are but just a little evolved between 1973 and 2023. Deadpool Wade Wilson (Original Timeline) had his powers triggered in 1973, like in Deadpool, after Days of Future Past but before the Team X sequence. He's in his 20s. In Deadpool, he's in his 50s. Deadpool takes place 2006-2008 based on the Year of the Dog reference during the year long sex scene. Wolverine's claws You just explained it. Magneto did it. Cure The cure was temporary. They pushed it before they realised this. Xavier's body Yes, that's his twin. The reason his legs aren't working is because his powers are interlinked with his legs, like Days of Future Past, like a mental barrier that he accidentally created for himself. Adamantium Bullets That's in the movie itself. X-24 has to be given a serum to regenerate, especially if damaged too badly. Wolverine's memory Xavier restored as much as he could off-screen between X2: X-Men United and X-Men: The Last Stand. Mystique Mystique was found out and went on the run. The real Striker captured Wolverine. William Striker Recasts, dude. Not a problem. The reason they are different is because there is a significant age gap. Cerebro Magneto helped Xavier to build/upgrade the blue cerebro with Beast. Xavier/Eric Yes, they briefly met at 17. They didn't realise this in X-Men: First Class, though. Students Cyclops, Jean and Storm was Xavier's first students after he reopened the school. Remember, it was closed in Days of Future Past. In X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Cyclops was recruited in 1979. Magneto He did, the one in X-Men: First Class is an older model. Cyclops They are brothers. Cyclops was a teenager in 1979 and 1983. It's not set in the 1960s, dude. Nightcrawler We don't know who Nightcrawler's parents are in the film universe. Quicksilver He probably told Magneto after 1983, when X-Men: Apocalypse takes place. Mystique Not a continuity problem. Beast Not a continuity problem. Magneto's helmet Not a continuity problem. Xavier's hair Not a continuity problem. Xavier/Mystique They just don't talk about that. Probably just don't have a relationship anymore. Timeline flawed 1962 - X-Men: First Class 1979 - X-Men Origins: Wolverine 2004 - X-Men 2004 - X2: X-Men United 2006 - X-Men: The Last Stand 2013 - The Wolverine: Unleashed Extended Edition 2023-1973 - X-Men: Days of Future Past: The Rogue Cut 1983 - X-Men: Apocalypse 1992 - Dark Phoenix 2008 - Deadpool 2009 - Deadpool 2: Super Duper Cut 2017 - The New Mutants 2029 - Logan I... win?

5:33 I think that is how you could explain it actually, in my headcanon at least. So wolverine and saber tooth have kinda similar mutations. In the comics, at one point it’s revealed that wolverine’s adamantium coating constantly kept his healing factor busy and stopped his mutation from developing him into a much more animalistic creature, which we see after magneto rips the metal out of him. So maybe in the movies, the same thing is true of saber tooth, who didn’t have adamantium in the first place, and he’s de-evolved to what we see him as in X-men from where he was in wolverine: origins. Wolverine can’t remember because of his memory loss and saber tooth can’t remember because his mutation has made him more animalistic. Kind of tragic really. Edit: I now see someone else already explained this a year ago :/

I agree with Cyclops. They built him up a lot around Jean and when she died at the end of X2 they didn't leave themselves much room in TLS when Dark Phoenix came back as the main villain. I always felt that a way of keeping Cyclops in the film would have been to introduce Emma Frost. Let's face it the overall plot would have made more sense after Jean killed Professor X to have her face off against Emma rather than Wolverine.
