The Day Lionel Messi Saved Alexis Mac Allister From Being BULLIED
Спорт
Alexis Mac Allister was one of Leo Messi’s greatest sidekicks during Argentina's march to World Cup victory. But before the Brighton player stepped up for his captain, it was Messi himself who was there for him. This is the story of Messi defending Mac Allister from being BULLIED.

Messi showed incredible leadership during the World Cup; this should lay to rest any doubts about this aspect of his marvellous game.

As an Argentinian supporter in Canada, even though we won it does not leave a good taste to hear Mac-Allister being put in an uncomfortable environment by his teammates. Most of the players who are guilty are from the Scaloni era so this level of racism will tarnish the legacy of this 3 year run.

@@Total_football_and_relationism They never intended to bully him, being Irish descendant has nothing to due with his nickname(Mac Allister starts running and his face turns red, that's all). Besides it was all in a friendly way, Mac Allister just didn't know how to tell them he didn't like the nickname. Almost everyone in the Scaloneta has nicknames (Emi Martinez- Dibu; Di Maria- Fideo, Montiel - Cachete or Cache, Lautaro - Lauta,etc...)
Messi understands more than anyone how important overall team spirit is and how much players can improve when they feel comfortable and play FOR the squad and not just with it, just like a certain Ronaldinho did for him when he was a teenager! Macallister was a beast in the WC and I guarantee this is the catalyst for that performance. Real GOATS make everyone around them better
Macallister teammates never had an issue with his hair color or his irish roots, not at all. They called him 'colo' in a purely friendly spirit. The vibes within this group of players were always very nice and friendly, and it's part of the reason why they won everything in the last year.

Mac Allister knew that but since they were friendly he didn't know how to tell them that he didn't like it so messi intervened instead

In argentinian society you get a nickname, everyone gets one, and some are hereditary, Maca's Father was the Colo before him so it was pretty much a given they would call him that. My family has always been called the russians even tho we have german last names since we came to argentina from the volga region. Even some names default to a nickname, thats why sometimes you might see the pope referred to as "pancho" since thats the default nickname for someone called Francisco.
They say Messi isn't a leader. Hah! Messi knows what bullying is, so he stands up for the bullied. He's so moving, this man.
Knowing the culture of the country and the team better, this was definitely light-hearted, but as always Alexis has the right to be called what he wants to be called.
Mcallister, Enzo Fernández and Alvarez were not starters but they really changed the Argentina team. Scaloni deserves huge credit for playing them.

Facts
He's one of my favorites in Argentina
*GOAT FOR A REASON*
People just think that true leader means to just bark in front of them and showing them that he is the king that's not messi is a quiet guy he helps others to improve that's what true leader needs to be done rather than barking front of them
Ireland have no problems with our Argentinian brothers 🇮🇪🤝🇦🇷

neither do we! we love the Irish and I'm sure the players were just lightheartedly calling him ginger as its a very common thing to do in Argentina. Its very conmon to hear people who's nickname is based on physical appearance and ethnicity and it's mostly a playful friendly thing.
Argentina the best in the world
Argentines (specially the men) are a very playful teasing bunch. Its not uncommon for us to give people nicknames based on appearance, but its never intended to offend. I'm sure the players were just calling him "colo" for being the only redhead on the team, nothing to do with his Irish roots. Still, if he didn't like the nickname its great that Leo intervened and that goes to show what a great captain he is.
There's a saying in local palace follow who knows the road 🌺😁
Messi the Brutal, Ragna’s long lost cousins
When ever someone says Macallister it reminds me of Kevin Macallister from home alone 💀
his dad just like real Irish dude
WHAT?????? BULLYNG???? FOR HIS TIES TO THE UK ARE YOU SERIOUS NOW...bro.... One thing is clickbait and other straight missinfo with speculation...The name isnt even a joke, thats just a common nickname, if someone doesnt like it we stop thats all, its never on a bad intent
Ireland was never part of the UK
I'm not too sure but messi really seems humble. That's why he's my best ever. 🖤
The UK? sorry, Ireland is our own country 🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪
💙💙💙💙💙
Always few and lapidary words Messi is a leader of few words and more action
1:38 , that's BS... they just called him ginger, Argentinians like to use nick names, it has nothing to do with UK or Ireland. Stop lying dood.
I think Messi thought of himself in place of Mac Allister how he was alone and when Ronaldinho approached him and made him feel open.
Family ties to the United Kingdom? He’s Irish, not British🙄
It feels illegal to be this early
Messi is all round the best footballer
Where is the footage at the very end from?
Fast haha
Da heck thumbnail,XD
Mac Allister best destination is Man United, he is just like Juan Mata...
the day adidas decided to draw a reverse check on nike logo to make it look like this ❌
He dosnt have ties to the UK. He has Irish roots, you know... the REPUBLIC of Ireland... not part of Great Britain or the United Kingdom
W
Liverpool ❤
Brighton better than psg in one way ,welcoming their wc champion player
Rep of Ireland where he is a descendant of is NOT part of the UK,, That’s an insult
You people are crazy. In what way you can called him a leader? Is that because he won both the Copa and World Cup by leading as a captain ? That he has scored 7 goals in the WC , has played so nicely and magically ,stepped up to take every penalty , had scored many important goals as a captain and that he has won the golden ball? If he is a leader or a captain every teammates should be afraid of him but he is so loved by them . This is not the quality of a leader. These qualities are not good enough to call him as a good leader. Now how can you called him a great leader? He never insulted his playmates. Its final and lets end this topic. He simply lack leadership personality , all right? He is not a leader but a miracle.
Yes, I think he will move to Liverpool 😘
Even Kobe said that he's the GOAT🙄for me he's the 2nd GOAT after Muhammad Ali or the same tier as him tbh💯no disrespect to Ali but Messi's that great also🤷♂️when he retires please give him a great farewell the entire sports have ever seen💯💯💯💯💯

No, Messi's the greatest sportsman of all. Soccer/football is far far more popular and more complex than boxing. And Mohammed Ali is American. It's hands down Messi.

It had nothing to do with his Mac Allister origins, it was just a joke. Three quarters of Argentinian people are of foreing descent. That was a straight up lie I hate when they do that.
