Depends on how the advertising shakes out. The reason for restrictions on cable is largely because of advertising dollars. Basically Netflix will be just another network to answer to. They might allow more, but if it becomes difficult to sell advertising, they're just as likely to lay the hammer down.

It’s definitely gonna be a huge shift from how we consume WWE because for so many fans it’s been habitual viewing the last 15-30 years to watch Raw on USA Network in primetime. If you live outside the US you’re probably doing cartwheels.

Thats only fans who grew up on Cable. Which are late 30s and 40s. The younger fans who consume it through youtube and other ways in the past decade Aren’t going to have much trouble with that.

Here in Australia all WWE media is already on streaming services and it’s great the fact that I get live Raw, Smackdown, NXT, all the PLE’s live and all the other WWE content such as Raw Talk and their reality shows. It makes it so much easier to watch WWE.

"The day cable died" is very accurate because the only reason I ever watch cable television is for pro wrestling lol

I would like to see if they can do live streaming on not only on Netflix but on TV as well. Cause on one you regular tv that blurs and censors stuff and then you have Netflix over here where everything is uncensored. I think the most annoying apart with this is that the time schedule for Raw and Smackdown don't match between Eastern to Western time. Because people that watch and live stream are like already watching it, while on Western side people are still waiting for the broadcasting and there will be videos up that already occurred on Raw and Smackdown. This is sort of something i wish they would've done on Peacock is just live streaming Raw and Smackdown like they do with their events, that matches the Eastern schedule for Western audiences. But in all fairness I really want them to put Smackdown on Netflix probably a little more so then Raw. I think Smackdown need like more time then just a 1 and half to 2 hour run time show, like i would be fine if it just went on for maybe extra 30 minutes on top of the hour time run.

I hope wrestling gets its edge back. The rock bloodying Cody felt like the attitude era.

The WWE Netflix deal is an absolute game changer, the global reach of Netflix is huge, WWE will see massive growth. 👏👏👏

Truer words never were said. It's the absolute truth though, I don't have cable, I rarely get to watch Raw, I get Netflix through my phone for free. I tried to buy a streaming service but it's like $60 for 3 channels I'd even watch. Absolutely know this is a major hurt to cable television.

As long as they figure out something to do with the Network if/when the Peacock deal eventually ends, then I'm fine with it. They're right when they said that cable is slowly getting phased out, though. I haven't had cable since high school and that was a very long time ago.🥴😂 Hopefully, with RAW being on Netflix, it will allow them to develop a more adult product. It looks as though they're already headed in that direction.

A drive to survive kind of show would be something id definitely watch.

Just to be clear to who have no idea where to watch WWE outside of the US, Netflix gets EVERYTHING...Raw, Smackdown, NXT & the PLE/PPVs.....MAYBE the tape library? That I'm not so sure.

This only affects RAW in the United States at the moment. No telling what will happen when the Peacock contract runs out, but they won't be breaking contracts early. Triple H said here that Netflix will be an option for the stuff on Peacock and for Smackdown when current deals expire.

I think eventually TV networks, show's, movie's, wrestling, other sports, and live events in general. Will all be done through streaming services. Because it seems like that is the direction things are going. So cable boxes will eventually be a thing of the past. Because I know that most Gen Z and younger don't even watch cable TV. They only watch Netflix, Hulu, Amazon prime, and other streaming service's.

i will say this a big company goin back to physical media round wit cable and all could get people talking, interested in, they could be the reason cable comes back, but with digital media yea we love it and can watch stuff and all but gotta admit big companies can like movies or games or shows can easily take it off digital platforms example netflix some stuff u can watch on netflix but cant watch it on nothing else but also some stuff on netflix could be leaving, i myself prefer physical media over digital media You own the cds,physical game copies, vhs tapes and can watch all shows on tv, the old era was the golden era thats just my opinion

If I was WWE or tko group I would put smackdown or either prime or Hulu and control all streaming platforms

That's not how it works. Tko doesn't say where they want to put their shows. It goes to whomever is the highest bidder...in this case it was netflix... that's why when they did the peacock deal (with vince) they offer close to $2 billion for 5 yrs... Netflix is now offering $5 billion so that's why they're going over there...all wwe shows and documentaries will move to netflix once the peacock deal expires at the end of next year.

Actually, cable is turning into streaming apps... I've gotten a few offers through the mail for spectrum streaming...i believe at&t also has their own streaming service as well... eventually, they will kill their own cable service and try to offer more streaming options than their competitors and we start the cable wars all over again except it will be the streaming wars.😄

I don't think Peacock is out of the picture yet. WrestleMania 40 1.3 billion minutes of view time. Number 1 watched event! So the peacock network is going to want PPV right for the next 5 years!

Don't be surprised if thats the last cable deal they ever sign. Everyone is dipping their toes in streaming, but few are going all-in in one jump, especially with live sports. Nascar just signed a TV deal with a combination of networks and streaming. Cable is still big but shrinking. Everything will be on streaming, but not imminently.

The only redeeming quality about cable tv is when my dad wants to watch tennis tournaments or me watching live nba games or better yet watching the nba finals. But yes, its sad that the death of cable tv is inevitable 😔

The question really is, will those individuals move to Netflix for raw and keep their cable provider for smackdown.. While it's true 39% of live TV is watch through streaming services.. that's not completely generated through Netflix.. So also have to convince those with Hulu etc.. to change possible streaming providers.
