That’s the biggest problem in our country , people take nature wonders for granted and starts to pollute them :( . We have many touristic points ruined because of people littering :( . I hope government takes strict action against it and there should be fine for littering, so such beautiful places can be more enjoyable for other tourists. Thank you for raising awareness about it .

Stop blaming the Government. It is 100% collective effort to make the country clean. I would not blame everyone in Pakistan but overall the cleaning culture does not exist in Pakistan and it is sad. I am a hiker and I have been impressed by some of the hikes I have done at other countries and found no trash but I was disappointed the trash I noticed all over Pakistan at these beautiful places. Pakistanis needs to run a serious campaign about cleaning these beautiful places. Many times I felt that people did not just care about throwing the trash. Thanks for highlighting the the dark side of Pakistan.

So I’m an American Pakistani and I hate to say it, but it’s something that we as a culture do…whenever Pakistanis gather for a picnic/mela/public event…they will leave trash, dirty diapers/food ect all over…especially when the police aren’t around…even though it’s America…they just don’t believe in cleaning up after themselves…there is an unconscious belief that cleaning up is for cleaners /servants/workers to do..

you should vist Pakistan before you pass judgement over collective efforts, too easy to say stuff when your not even ones who are suffering, if govt is so called announcing to promote tourism they should also put some visible work into it, not just patriotic speeches. What are we paying twice more taxes for if we are the ones to put all the efforts, public is always willing to support but you need to show them a path and govt efforts also, not just give a speech over collective efforts.

You’re right about the trash. It detracts from the beauty of the place.

Unfortunately this is what we neglected most often. Hope that any official watching this video may take action to avoid further damage to the tourism.

Davud, u were talking about the trash around the mountains. I would suggest if you can organize with the people doing work up the mountains together clean up and set the example .. show the people around there that something needs to be done. I know u can educate everyone especially in Pakistan. Perhaps we can start somewhere. If I were there with you I will just try to organize something to encourage more people to clean together and also set up trash bins and slowly educate people there. It won't change over night buy atleast it's a start.

That's thanks from my side. Tho, it's not always the government's duty to rescue these places. Being the citizen of this country, we are equally responsible for the well being of our place.

"I think Pakistani people might not like me for talking about this" Well...no I actually loved how you talked about what's wrong with the country and it's obviously lack of awareness and understanding of the problems that stem from pollution as most of the people in Northern most Pakistan are not highly educated. People in the cities are no better as they don't really care either. I'd love it if you gave both your positives and negatives about the places you visit in the future. Love from Swat

I personally avoid throwing trash anywhere except dustbin , we can't expect the government to roads and public places when we aren't even trying.

So sad about the trash ... We can't blame peoples who are uneducated... Government needs to provide high quality modern / islamic education and should compulsory education on each and every Pakistani ... Peoples who are educated and still doing these types of rubbish They should pay heavy fine atleast 500 dollars...

As a Pakistani, I would say your concern is 100% right. This is one of the biggest problems of ours. Unfortunately, there is not enough level of the campaign for awareness regarding environmental cleanliness. It's a collective responsibility of tourists, locals, and the government.
