Isolation 100%, since I discovered how passionate I am about music production in 2023, I decided to go all in with it and i've been sacrificing all of my free time with family, friends, girls, video games, alcohol, to have all of that time to consistently release music, keep leveling up my music production, mixing, and mastering and pray that all of the countless hours of time in isolation and sacrifice will pay off being able to produce music for a living in 5 years time would be a dream come true.

The solitude and isolation point is true for most successful people in any field whether its music, business, sports etc etc. You get better than your peers by putting in more hours than the average person in your field!

I think almost every producer started beacuse it was fun and not because of money. But honestly for me trying to make the passion become a career destroyed a big part of the fun and passion and made forget why I even started doing this. Thats why I now chose for myself that I´m not trying hard to make this a career aymore and I will just make music whenever I want to and I´ll enjoy it. I can find something else to make business with and if for some reason the music brings in money, then so be it but I wont chase it anymore.

That isolation is no joke.... I do UberEats all day so I can listen to KZread videos on music theory, song writing, sound recording and reproduction and anything else that will give me knowledge to create. Then I come home and eat dinner and do music in the garage until around 2am only to repeat the next day. 5-6 years now seven days a week. And for what?!?! Only a dream that I believe is out there if I don't quit. The highs and lows are CRAZY! The journey started out just wanting to learn to play an instrument. It's now spiraling into something I couldn't begin to even dream about. I don't know what the big picture looks like, but I refuse to quit. The possibilities look way better/bigger than when I first started. I'm 54, but this was a childhood dream. I was once an attorney, but really always just wanted to do something creative. I've never been more content than now.

Success is being at peace with oneself. When i talk to older people, the one thing they always say they regret is not going for it or not dedicating their lives to something. Not doing things or doing enough things they liked or loved was their biggest regret.

I really like how honest you are talking about all the obstacles you have to handle as beat maker. I have much respect of guys like you llb, Jac Cactus etc. because you have to manage all the things mostly by yourself, create your products handle a website to sell them. Improve in marketing to reach more people etc. So you have to focus on so many different things, this must cost a lot of your energy. So please be carefull and take a break once a while. We really love what you are doing for the community. 😃😃

Doing my own beat tapes / marketing them/ makeing beats for my youtube / trying to stay consistent/ wile trying to sale / people not supporting/ always trying to improve your craft with every beat /with that not only that but dealing with life and the stuff that throws at you/ and yea being isolated and in a weird anti social adrenalin trying to connect everything. find your artist and build with them. you don't need 20 artists on your beats, you just need one. That when you are labbin together it makes that shit go bang. the problem with rap/trap etc is the culture is entitled and fast paced. everyone thinks they are owed something and a lot of artists are very victimised and trash tbh, not many actually have bars, so even if you meet an artist who has 1 million views on a tune, if there is no longevity there or even originality, i wouldn't even bother unless it makes financial sense...trust me, i have been round the world with music with big artists and a lot of them are all the same. entitled, not actually that good at music as a whole but got lucky. dont miss out on your families growth g, trust me you will regret it when you are 40...otherwise, keep going and being you. love!

I don't think there is a dark side to making beats. It's All beautiful. The Criticism and the Isolation from people. In order to get better at your kraft you must delv into what we call Shedding. You go in the shed and you learn your instrument in and out. You stay in the shed until you become a BEAST. It's a lifestyle not for those who want fame or money. learn music theory, practice daily cause the better producers play instruments or hire great players. I still shed. I have a Grammy nomination, played with some really really famous people. Composed for one of the biggest sports documentaries and I still get criticism. You're right, People are watching. Understand what you do in public is paid for in private.

you started in 2017. that alone is funny. unrealistic expectations don't make beat making dark. for starters the business is over saturated. the barrier for entry has been very low for over a decade. more supply than demand. second the recorded music sales are down so there is no industry budgets to pay off big producers and no incentive to do so when you can get beats anywhere today. third a lot of you making music today came up in an era where you never even bought music yourself. you don't value the art enough to spend money on it but want to make money from it. streams pay a pittance. times changed. but the worst thing is seeing novices selling courses to other novices. decrying not being able to eat of an investment that is so short on time and effort.
