    Diablo is hands down the best plugin for drums that has ever existed. I use it in all my productions. Sometimes it's fun to run basses or even a stab melody with heavy delay or reverb through it. From there you can chain it to duck a delay/reverb. That way, the delay/reverb will only play when the signal is NOT playing. It gives it a very tight sound, and the delay/reverb never washes over the main riff. Thanks for the great video, Steven! - leifo

    Yes. You can use it as flavor or make your mix super loud. Be careful with it though because it can introduce nasty artefacts or make leveling/balancing hard (because everything is or will be loud if you don't leave headroom). You shouldn't worry about mastering as long as the mix is sounding very good (properly balanced, not harsh, full, clean, etc).

    Biggest one i learned that i wish i knew back in my early days: VSTs/DAWs dont make your music sound better. Having all the VSTs isnt a good thing. Bruce Lee once said "i dont fear a fighter who knows 10,000 different kicks... i fear the fighter who has practiced a single kick 10,000 times." Its far better to be very proficient at just one single VST than to be the "jack of all trades" in music making.

    Number 4 throw it in the trash!! It sounds good when its only a beat but when you add vocals and go to master a song you can get it waay louder if its not clipped already. So many people are ruining their beats like this

  • @AhmadCollins_

    @AhmadCollins_

    8 ай бұрын

    You right but at the same time in most cases when I send stems to the artist that I don’t record..they engineer gain stage the beat and then what happens is they get to asking me why my version hit so hard and that engineer ain’t make it hit that hard even after he has mastered the song…long as you don’t put a limiter on it you can definitely clip it to get that nice distorted sound. It’s not a wrong or right thing about any of this…it’s do you have the ear to make it sound good cause most of these guys that got placements run they sounds thru that soft clipper it’s no rules to this shit if it sound good it sounds good

  • @_TheViewer_

    @_TheViewer_

    8 ай бұрын

    There’s differences between clipping itself guys, never redline/clip the overall sound, but digital clipping and done per ear won’t kill your mix nor make it impossible to go loud as ish in mastering, if it is, then you mastered/mixed/effected wrong along the way. Matter of fact, take skrillex and bangareng’s loudness and tell me he didn’t controlled clipped once at least 👌

  • @_TheViewer_

    Take the famous soft clipping, it’s just for CUTTING(more smoothing) the transients/peaks, so no peak is too loud, leaving you with a less “peaky” material but overall even material, meaning it’s almost comparable to comp/limiting, since you say this far, but NO FURTHER. Especially works on EDM and the stems you use there

Would be cool if dejavu got an expansion so u could do grossbeat/ timeshaper fx. And add som extra sauce. Would be a legit dope plugin. I would also love if it would be cpu optimised.

  • @rundajulesproductions7735
    @rundajulesproductions77357 ай бұрын

    Wabi sabi? I disagree about rabbits. I mean they are fast, but you can get them both if you are faster. If you can't mix, then you have to pay an engineer before anybody is going to be impressed by your beats. If you can mix you will be a better composer because you will understand the interplay of frequencies ranges and what can/cannot support a vocal performance. If you understand music theory some then you will know which parts to take when you sample. If you play drums, you will figure out where the 808's go after you have played w/toms and then your chord placement gets more interesting. Focusing on only one thing works if you are in a band or can afford to pay to produce the rest of the things you know nothing about. But if you are working in a set up that is all you from start to finish on a song, it would behoove you to know something about all aspects of production and as you build in the areas that are not your specialty, you will undoubtedly grow in whatever your strengths were consequently. And when you get better at something outside your wheelhouse it helps you to build the vocabulary you need to get help from people who do have more expertise. Avoid spreading yourself too thin, I would say, but nobody is maligned by saying they are "well-rounded". "Polymath". "Rennaissance Man." All these are terms to positively describe somebody who has taken the time to be good at more than one thing. Think Quincy Jones.

    For someone who is supposed to be reputable in the industry its disappointing to see you tell people that just using a soft clipper will fix the issues people will encounter. If your eq isn't good enough and controlled enough , if the balance + gain staging isn't good enough, if compression isnt done right then that just add soft clip on the master trick is almost completely useless. Dont lead people along , if your going to say something atleast be up front and tell people this will only work if everything else is done right.. Otherwise great video

    Not true at all. Plus this sounds like any other industry. Big names stay big, if they keep up to date with everything. It's the nature of the business. And what you mentioned about David Guetta and being nice - this is the most important skill, your social skills and your love for ppl. This is what makes the difference. I know many talented artists, but they are not very sociable and complain all the time, and that's why they stay small. This is professionalism. Look at James Hype for instance. This guy would do anything for his fans, always positive, gets the job done despite imperfections and challenges and over all he's a great entertainer. This goes for any industry. People care for your personality more than your skills.

    Excuse me, but for the love of God, people please! Giving advice for making a piano chords strummed and not mentioning the rhythmic aspect of it is pure deception. No wonder FL Studio has the reputation it has among other DAWs. More often than not, when you strum a chord it is vital to make the loudest note (the one you want to accent) the one that is on the beat. Meaning if the first chord has 5 notes and the last note is the loudest, the strumming should begin before the actual beat start. And yes, the other way can also be used as a rhythmic effect, but it goes more towards playing rubato, implying the following notes will also be displaced in a similar way.

    So bascially to be a good in 2024 u gotta: 1. Take free samples and drum loops 2. Put them together 3. Fake your producer skills 4. Sell the beat ??
