These railroads are trying, especially given how expensive Mattel makes getting the lisences. That said, these are hilarious. Unintentionally, but very hilarious. Great vid man, didn't realize how much I missed these!

1:37 "WHY IS IT SO HARD TO FIT THE FACES ON THE ENGINES?!?!?!?!?!" I literally fell off my chair laughing.

So, that American Thomas with the wonky eyes who looks like he snorted 50lbs of illegal substances actually has a funny story behind it. I'm with a tourist railroad and we host DOWT every year. We happened to get that specific Thomas, and we're the ones who the eyes first broke on. They got worse and worse over the course of the week, and it was the funniest shit. The last weekend of the event we went to turn the fog machine on for the funnel smoke and all the fog came rushing out into the cab. Come to find out a groundhog climbed into the funnel and died during the week. We sent that Thomas off after our event and it went to the railroad you have pictured there with a dead animal clogged funnel and screwed up eyes. I have a picture of the eyes when they first broke on us

Pandemic isolation was at its highest then for me, and your hilarious takes on the dark side of Day Out with Thomas gave me some much needed laughs plus some great childhood nostalgia. I actually cleaned the Thomas at 5:07 on a shift and he’s extra creepy rocking up a 6am and him just staring at you in the shed, and don’t tell the kids but it’s actually just a shell the peckett wears

Yknow imma be honest I avoided the channel for the longest time when the original stretch of dark side of dowt because I thought it was just some guy trashing on Thomas. Im glad I eventually came around and started watching ya vids

I work at a heritage railway and we have an E2 and, back in the day, we used to do a day out with Thomas. But the only things we’d put faces on was the E2 (which WAS Thomas’s face, we had it specially casted. And the peckett as Percy (again: correct face) and the toad brake van with the only rectangular face: toads. All of these we had specially cast out of some plastic thing and painted. So yes. We did it correctly. But nowadays we can’t afford the licensing so the faces just ominously hang on one side of the loco shed overlooking all the workers.

I absolutely love your videos man I believe I discovered your channel in 2021 a few months back like still in winter or so and I have to say you've really made some good and hilarious content I just adore this series cuz it always makes me laugh so hard especially in the beginning of this one LOL

Honestly i find the editing in this video pretty jarring...it worked for the jinty but the cutting between different characters just really meddled up the opinions

I love this Dark Side of Day out of Thomas it cool to see different railway’s interpretations of Thomas and his friends, even though some of the trains look like they are in physical and emotional pain 😂
