ACR I think mainly because Christopher Nolan chooses to make his films much more grounded and real, so adding something like chemicals to make someone cartoonishly big wouldn’t be in his preference.

@@Xpert599 That's right sir, Nolan wanted to portray his Batman more realistic, more in style that it could actually happen in real life. So venom that's the name of those iconic green chemicals Bane injects. Still if you watching closely there is few moments showing that Bane had some kind of surgery on his spine or with his spine, doesn't look like some battle scar or accident due to perfect line surgical even I would call it. Maybe they reinforced his spine a bit more realistic scenario than injecting green liquid and growing 4x muscle in seconds. Also his mask is some kind of gas mask he was weak after Batman punched those parts. This Bane portrait is more brawler trained, looks like not feeling much pain, maybe it's a benefit of that surgery he looks like had in the past, maybe he's on coke inhalation xD

They fucked Bane up but Bane got the mask after Rhas'al Ghul and Talia got hkm out of the Pit they messed him up not just by physical beating but also the doctor did some kind of messed up surgery which leads to the pain while breathing and the mask just numbs the pain

Props to Bane for never missing a day of English class.

He wanted to create the most realistic Batman story. Having a big boi wearing a Mexican wrestling mask while having a serum injected in him to make him stronger, is kinda weird

@@costco_pizza Nolan didn't add that to the movie in order to maintain the realistic feel of these movies. Instead, Bane is just... ridiculously tough and that mask feeds him an anesthetic which numbs the pain of what happened to him in the Lazarus Pit, which makes more sense than an insane steroid.

Dude Bane is 6'8". Hardy is 5'9".

"You fight like a young man with nothing held back, admirable but mistaken" and "Peace has cost you your strength. Victory has defeated you." Bane has some of the best lines I have ever heard from a villain. He almost makes you want to follow him. The fact that I can read his emotion just from his eyes, and the way his voice changes like he’s a teacher and Bruce is a foolish student. I really hope Tom won an award for this performance. The voice, presence, acting, and look is all on point. If only Christopher Nolan would produce all DC movies.

Regrettably that is never happening again. Nolan only did the Batman movies because the studio would not fund his project for “Inception”. He was asked to do the Batman trilogy to gain more experience as a director. Nolan even said he didn’t wanna do it.

This scene is like the tutorial of a video game where you fight the final boss at the start, but you are completely powerless.

I like how the camera keeps cutting to his henchmen while Batman is fighting, it signifies his efforts will to no avail

That fight and the sound design for this scene was insane. It was so well done. You could almost feel those punches bane hit with him. Felt like you were right there.

The way Bruce grunts with every punch, you know he's giving everything he has because he really believes what he's told Alfred. "I'll fight harder, I always have."

He wanted to break both body and spirit. He broke his body first, and then wanted to break his spirit by putting him in that pit and making him watch Gotham City blown up while he's helpless. He didn't expect him to come out of the pit to stop his plans.

Tom is such a fantastic actor, he gave Bane a masterful screen performance.

People often complain that this scene is "underwhelming" because of a lack of music and jumbled choreography. But they miss the fact that that's the *point:* This isn't a fight, it's a humiliation. We're witnessing a broken man swinging with all his strength in desperation against Bane to absolutely no avail, before having his entire world crumble around him. There's no swelling score or tense music, because we're witnessing the downfall of Batman in a supremely sorry state. There's no triumphal victory against evil or defiant statements of the virtues of justice, just Gotham's Dark Knigh getting pummelled to a pulp and psychological destroyed amid the echoing silence of a dark, dingy sewer.

Nah dude, in the comics bats has lost a few fistfights. Deathstroke took him once, and in Frank Millers dark night he was straight up pummeled in a Street fight (although he's pretty old in that comic)

these is litteraly the most spectacular moment of cinematography, acting, actors, everything about it is perfect

Bane is so thoroughly dominant that his men clearly have strict orders not to interfere. Notice every time Batman is landing punches, the camera switches to motionless henchmen. Soon enough, Bane is back to whoopin' ass.

I never thought I’d say this, but the way Bane says, “Mr. Wayne” makes me chuckle

The moment he turned off the lights, was the only chance to bail out using the sewers.
