I love how from beginning to end, in all three movies, Lucius never once refers to Bruce as Batman when they speak to one another. Compartmentalization with well-defined boundaries was how he balanced his dedication and commitment within Bruce's two worlds.

In the Nolan trilogy they make it clear that Batman is just a symbol, Bruce doesn't identify himself as Batman but rather he uses that persona to be incorruptible and invincible at the eyes of his enemies. He says that many times and also that he didn't want to be Batman forever since he wanted to have a life outside the cave with Rachel first and then is able to do that with Selina. Also if you notice unlike in many other superhero movies in the end credits there's no "Bruce Wayne/Batman" (no real identity slash secret identity) just "Bruce Wayne" when he's credited.

I dunno how they did the dive into the window and all, but they really did go GoldenEye Dam-style balls out filming crazy shit like this. The Dark Knight was on another level of filmmaking. Between that and the Gotham General explosion being a 100% real set in Chicago that onlookers watched in awe, you can't really pick a single best scene.

The wire grapple system batman uses and the electrostatic glide cape are still sadly science fiction but feasible in the future, and the trilogy certainly had more real gadgets in it than any other to date and I too love them for this reason. The fighting is also far more real, people get tired and don't move around like a hamster on drugs but like proper cage fight / brawl style, i.e. as humans do. The trilogy is a masterpiece and I doubt I will see as good a batman film again in my lifetime.

The mentality that his Batman has when getting into such dangerous situations. I feel he would do great in that film. He reminds me of Jackson. I know Batman doesn’t say quotes from the bible when fighting and killing his enemies or he doesn’t a kiss a Christian cross necklace right before he fights but the strong bravery his Batman has and private Jackson has I think is very similar.

The “Skyhook” technique used in this scene was actually a real thing. Officially called the Fulton air retrieval system, it was developed and used by the CIA for over 30 years as an extraction technique for operatives. It was surprisingly successful, with only one recorded fatal accident ever occurring with the technique. Really cool how they used it here, since it’s definitely something that Batman would do.
