I don't think Dre generally comes up with the melodies!!!.. Dre comes with the sample and and comes up with the drums/arrangement and mix. Additional melodies are from the sessions players he hires.

Dr. Dre took a page out of Marvin Gaye's musical book and came up with a classic!!! Crazy 8's

Im 25 and literally came across this song like a couple months ago and had it on repeat and ended learning the words and i even DM The D.O.C on instagram the first lyrics “High energy flowing with the wisdom” and i swear to god he responded back to me saying “AYYYE🔥 GOOD LOOKS FAM”. 😂 shit had me struck cause i told him how my big influence was NWA, Suge and the west coast and for him to respond back it felt like i talked to Eazy E or something.
