The lone cyberman/ashad had so much potential. He was ruthless and relentless in his pursuit. But he just had to be killed anticlimacticly by the master so we could have more of him even though he was in almost every single episode. And captain jack wasn’t even there either. What was the point other than a desperate attempt for nostalgia

Honestly, while the anti-climax was a bit disappointing. You could somewhat see it coming because the Master was definitely going to hijack the plot at some point. I say hijack because that's what Tv tropes calls it.

I'm trying to think of a reason why Ashad, the Lone Cyberman, attacks the other Cyberman in that chamber, and a few reasons come to mind; 1. He's trying to galvanise the emotional inhibitor, knowing how his lack of one has made him a formidable presence and want the other Cybermen to know hatred so as to be more potent. 2. The Cyberman he's killing is a leader of a particular unit, and thus disembowelling it makes a clear statement that he is not to be messed with and will not hesitate to kill unprovoked. 3. He's removing all the organic components, since he hates organic life. 4. Gathering the components he needs to help the Master build the Cyber Masters. 5. Just because.

The big cringe.

The Timeless Children revealed that Ashad wanted to create purely robotic Cybermen, and would fully mechanize himself once that was done. So the most likely idea is that he was removing the organic components.

​@@eccremocarpusscaber5159the show does often contradict big finish audios sometimes it's used as a way to explain things but with a show about time travel and different teams and show runners come in to make their vision of the show certain plot points get contradicted or as erased like with the daleks stealing earth and other planets to destroy the universe at the end of season 4 because of the cracks in season 5

I like that they tried to go a little classic with the heads being larger and bulkier, but it’s ruined by the speak bodies, I stand by the tennant era cybermen being the best designs, they were clunky and had edges to them, they weren’t smooth like these ones. I think this special cyber man design is a good take on the capaldi cyber men as it looks more clunky and worn

No I actually like the sleek body frames with Tom Baker era Cyberman Heads. They look advanced, and like they're actually the classic Cyberman form but not wrapped in a space blanket lol. Ashad, the rusty Cyberman is awesome I like that he's basically a butchered Mondasian Cyberman with home installed repairs.

I have to say, It is freaking AWESOME to see Modern Cybermen w/t 4th Doctor Heads.

1:47 looks more like the Borg then a Cyberman like that.

This is, quite honestly, the worst idea ever in Doctor Who. Removing the organic components from a cyberman just makes it an Android/robot. What a bore. No body horror there, and no excitement. What in the heavens made that a good idea? And that’s without me clawing in to the rest of the storyline. Kills everything. Perhaps someone will eventually assist the ascension or the writers and show runners.

I liked the character of Ashad, a very fresh take on Cybermen but in each episode he gets relatively weaker. In ascension hes more of a villain of the week and in Timeless Children he's killed off to soon. Also whilst I like this scene for showing how deranged he is. The idea of turning Cybermen into robots is just, underwhelming. But still great character, would love to see him return (maybe as a hologram Cyberplanner that the Cybermen have to purge from their systems)

honestly, all of series 12 would've been so much better if he was the big bad. No master, no gallifrey, and no timeless child. Spyfall is just barton and the kasaavin. keep the cybermasters, but as ashad's master plan instead, created using the doctor's power.

What is it with characters explaining what is happening on screen? This isn't an audio play if character A runs away character B dosent need to say "he's running away".

I really hope they keep the design of the “Cyber-Warriors” as the stock standard cyberman design going forward, it’s a beautiful combination of Revenge of the cybermen, Earthshock and nightmare in silver’s cybermen designs

Loved this episode so much! Very creepy and fast paced!

The cyberman that feels plenty of emotion makes emotionless cyberman feel pain !

Never in my life have I felt so sorry for automatons.

A read the title wrong and thought it said "A cyberman that makes out with another cyberman"

That dialogue reminds me of Earthshock where there people was carying cybermen on a freighter

This is why Chibnal sucks, the cyber men are meant to be scary because they don't feel, and he's like "but cool creepy cyber man makes cyber men go AAAHHHH"

aren't cybermen ment to umm. not feel pain. i thought that was one of the big things. they get damaged and die sure. but they are not meant to feel pain. they aren't meant to feel anything,.

I did enjoy watching Bradley this TV series of doctor who he was amazing.

Tbh it felt like a waste of cybermen to have him remove the organics and make them boring old robots. It removed the tragedy from their character. One could argue they almost recaptured that tragedy with the CyberMasters but they had very little on-screen presence and spent 99% of it standing still. A better idea to capitalise on the body horror would have been if he wasn't removing the organics, but torturing them into compliance, partially overloading the emotional inhibitor and keeping them in a fearful subservient state where their trauma breaks through in some jump-scare glitches.

Given the tearjerkers that cyberman already are, I think this would actually be a good idea. A reminder that the Cybermen aren't robots but people who irginally wanted to escape the darkness and the pain it brought snd lost themselves. Even have the Doctor question herself as she's reminded the cybermen aren't Daleks but demented altruists and they work together.

Id like to point out what when "Jodie Whittaker" became the Dr they lost about 28% of their audience. when peter capaldi took over there was less then a %.2 drop in raitings.

Guys I’m not sure, but I think they’re carrying a Cyberman that makes other Cybermen scream.

It's already been explained across his appearances. He saw the cybermen as better than human and volunteered for upgrades, declining an emotional inhibitor as he felt he was stable enough. However they eventually deemed him sub par so he was hiding away then the cybermen lost the war. He hunted down and killed his children for staying with the humans, then decided to restart a new era of the cybermen and become their champion, seeing himself as stronger than the rest of them. Wanting to remove all organic components from them.

Goddamn, the most egregious plothole - this Cyber carrier's mere existence.

First i thought it's a "Dead Space"-Movie. That'd be cool.

@@smiller3995 well the Cybermen have pretty much got the hanger bay on lockdown, and taking them head on would seem like suicide in their position. The Doctor also told them that she’ll get them out of the situation and the companions trust her completely so of course they’re going to wait for her.

@@shakes1026 - would make sense. The Cybermen from the 70s and 80s (which these "warrior class" one's have more than a passing resemblance) were never portrayed as being truly "emotionless". They got angry. They were pleased when things went their way - "excellent" being a major catch phrase. Fact is - emotionless is boring. This is a positive step if it's true.

@@Nathan_the_mighty - in NuWho, yes. And in very early Classic Who. But as I said, during the 70s and 80s... not so much. It's interesting to note that the Cybermen have not had a lead story for a few years now. They've turned up, but usually as a sidekick to the Master/Missy. This is the first story in a long time where they've been put front and centre (accepting the Master *still* turned up!)... And the difference... The lone cyberman... A cyberman with emotion. Mostly anger of course, but it don't half make him interesting. History repeating itself. IMHO of course.

In my opinion the Cybermen really look like they’ve been downgraded from how they looked back with the 12th and the master.

@@Star_Lion_33 its called criticism, the show is poorly written, there are too many characters and none of them are fully fleshed out. The storylines just jump from A to B and there rarely feel like there are any consequences for any episodes or actions. The doctor doesn't have her own personality, just a merge of 10 and 11. The allegory for trump was on the nose and tiring. It has nothing to do with not getting what we want, we have had quality doctor who before 2005-2010 so its not as if we are asking for everything
