Very well respected. I'm currently trying to balance out between trophies & achievements having 279 plats (currently trying to make ZZZ my 280th since I'm addicted to the game since trying on launch) though my downside of trophy hunters as of late is they are getting to critical, like let's say you autopop a PS5 game from your PS4 save they'll complain about it, like come on you put in the work on the previous version let it slide. I like getting feedback through social posts of games I complete but if they'll nit pick gives me less motivation to 100%

@@ShoutingzombiePSTrophyHunter I see trrophies more of a list of games you have played, and how far you managed to beat them. Autopopping then means getting “rewarded” for not doing just that. Yes you beat it on ps4, but you didnt on ps5. Each to their own ofc.

If people want to buy shit games for easy platinums that's fine. It's always been part of trophy hunting it's just gotten easier/faster over time since game creators see the demand for insanely easy and fast platinums and are meeting it.

Didn't much care for platninum leaderboards but I did check ever so often for the game I played and where I was for my country and to find friends. While I did have a ton of multiplayer games on ps3 I am more selective on ps4. While I do have things like Spyro, I also have stuff like FFXV which is less than1600 earned a wide range of stuff at 80-90% but still under 20 plats total which makes them special to me. :3 Thanks for the video PB.

I see some platinum hunters to do it just for the sake of it, they enjoy the fact they'll get a platinum rather than the game itself. Doing checklist, shortcuts and tricks only to get that trophy and not enjoy half of what they're doing. Ain't a race, or a competition just personal completition. There are fun games to complete, some that are a pain but that is the point. Not everything needs to be a challenge someone needs to tackle on in order to have well, everything just whatever you like and enjoy

I never have respect for any trophy hunter that has thousands of quick platinums (where you can pop the platinum trophy in like 15 minutes, and then duplicate said platinum like 3-4 times). It's just an empty inflated trophy list at that point. I'm a Platinum Hunter, (currently sitting at 190) and all of them are full fledged games. And some of them were hard AF. AND!!! I never sacrificed the most sacred rule of being a gamer, "Have fun and enjoy the game first"

I would argue that it doesn’t matter if the game is hard or not, but if you think it is a good game. If you get thousands of plats in games you would otherwise never play, I personally fail to respect wasting in a sense your time, as all you are doing is hunting the achievement of seeing high numbers, and not enjoying the experience the game gives.

I have to admit I am at the phase where whenever I look into new game I look up the trophies. I still am not on any leaderboard anyway. I do not wish to be there. I do it because of my personality. I love the feeling of getting something out of my hobby, the feeling of pop when new trophy comes. People are getting prizes on competitions I get trophies. So I enjoy it. Platinum too hard...screw it. Maybe try later when I get better at this genre. BUT...I feel like my brother is getting into this trend or I dunno. Lately I see him buy and play games not even worthy 1 dollar in sales. Fast games done in an hour. But he is saying he loves them because they are short and relaxing with his limited time. On the other hand you hear him saying things like "Ha. I have 3 new platinums and you got nothing?" "I will catch up to your platinums in no time!" But I play games like Yakuza, Assassins Creed, Final Fantasy,... and not games like him. But I don't mind and continue playing what I love and how.

But with the state of games and trophies today where you can get hundreds of 10-minute platinums then all your hard work towards a plat that takes 1 month sees you surpassed on the leaderboard by atleast 10-15 people with easy plats. I've been trophy hunting for a long time now, personally love the meta concept of trophies and how they can push you to play outside of your usual playstyle, plus even before trophies came along I liked to get 100% collectibles and completeion when possible. I got to a platinum count I am happy with and have stepped back from actively collecting now, I play the games I want to and if it is a doable plat I'll go for it, but no longer chasing rankings. I was trying to get some quick platinums in order to get to a landmark number and spent a week and a half knocking out hidden object games which I didn't enjoy, I made the decision to slow down after that, only focus on what I like playing.

The only easy Platinum I’ve got is Storm Boy but the game is no where near being a shovelware game. It’s based on an Australian children’s book and is made by an indie Australian game studio. The game is like a playable storybook and is such a beautiful game. I actually cried during the ending of it. It may be one you can do in 30 minutes but I don’t think it is anyway near being a shovelware. It’s beautiful and if you’re Australian or have ever read the book or seen the film the game is a must play.

I started playing video games in ‘83 & I was always kind of a completionist. For example, I would beat a game in all difficulties (MGS comes to mind, beating it on the hardest difficulty with just a slither of health in the end) or collect everything there was to collect (breeding chocobos in FF7 for countless hours in a time where we had no internet to look for guides) so when trophies were introduced, trophy hunting just came naturally to me. In the beginning it was all about playing games you liked and getting that feeling of accomplishment when you earned the platinum & maybe bragging to your friends about it 😂 But then leaderboards were created and people started getting competitive. And with that people started playing games they didn’t necessarily like just to add another platinum on their trophy list. And it started spiraling downwards ever since… At first people would play the same game from different regions (EU, US, ASIAN) or on different platforms like ps3 & vita but at least they were actually playing the game. Nowadays with more platforms, auto-popping & 2 minute platinum games people are getting like 15 platinums from a single game in like 10 minutes; it’s ridiculous and in my personal opinion, completely pointless. It’s not a “competition” anymore about who is better in gaming but just a matter of who has more money to waste on complete garbage 🤷🏽‍♂ There was a time I would earn like 50 platinums a year on average but it’s been 5-6 years now since I “retired”. What I mean by this is that I still gonna platinum the game I’m playing but I’m not trying to do it as fast as possible anymore so that I can start “working” on the next one. My latest one, Spider Man Miles Morales, took me a month and a half to complete 😂 Anyways, I currently have 446 platinums, and though I too played some easy games just for the platinum (my name is mayo… 😞) I take more pride in the 0.1% platinums I have and my completion ratio (90%). The current state of trophy hunting is like I said earlier, ridiculous and completely pointless. Don’t even bother with the leaderboards. You wanna go for a platinum, do it for yourself. Play games you actually like and enjoy and if they are challenging and you achieve that platinum you gonna feel way better about earning 1 than earning 30 playing garbage 🤷🏽‍♂

I agree that it’s always interesting to see the difference in platinums now compared to years ago. I think people don’t remember but back in the day when our community was way smaller than it is now, getting easy and fast platinums was actually unheard of. If you saw a game that could be completed in 6-8 hours, then you’d probably play that game because it was considered a fast completion. The more platinums you had the more impressive you was. I think anyone remotely interested in chasing platinums/completions played these games a few years ago. I myself have around 100 on my profile. It’s impossible to keep up with the big spenders like David. I think that’s why most gamers now go for harder platinums or actually play good games. Also, I’m not embarrassed of my 100 easy and fast completions as I look at them with fond memories with how the smaller community use to be, but I know some people who started completely brand new accounts because they had easy games on their profiles.

This stuff is such a weird numbers games. I try to platinum every game I play, unless its a ridiculous grind or I just find it far too difficult to do. But its such a time sink, especially if you're playing bigger or longer games. I sort of feel like getting platinum for those crappy 'mini games' shouldn't count. You might be able to platinum a game in a single day, but others can take weeks. I genuinely don't understand how people have the time or the money, and that's coming from someone who games every evening after work. I have less than 50 plats. Its madness lol

  • @FunnyLilNightmare
    @FunnyLilNightmare18 күн бұрын

It's very much a case of don't hate the player, hate the game when it comes to the top trophy hunters playing majority shovel wear for the easy plat. You're absolutely right that these people still dedicate a lot of their time and money and we shouldn't judge them for using these options to get where they are. I may not agree with the methods, but what they do isn't wrong. I think Sony needs to be much more picky about what games should have platinums. For a start, games should have a potential fail state or a level of effort to qualify for a platinum. So things like visual novels and shovel wear could still exist but they wouldn't qualify for a platinum but it wouldn't penalise games that technically can't be failed but require a level of effort, like simulation games. I also think trophy list should be reviewed so that trophies don't become entirely unobtainable. For a example, if a server closes the effected trophies could be tweaked with an equal challenge. Obviously there would still be exceptions to this but a majority of unobtainables could be reinvigorated this way and give some games more longevity. I personally think auto popping shouldn't be a thing. I think if you want to obtain a platinum again, you should have to play the game again. No shortcuts. It just cheapens the experience. I have no issue with save data transferring but I really don't agree with trophies transferring. I do fully appreciate that there will be people who don't agree and there's potentially flaws to my opinions that I haven't thought of. I think the issue is much more nuanced and doesn't have an easy solution - if it even needs one. I don't really put much stock into the leaderboards for myself because I know getting to a notable rank is borderline impossible and is definitely a lot more time, stress and effort than I want my hobby to be. I think when chosing to trophy hunt, as long as you set your own metric for success and choose what aspects you want to put effort into then thats what will make it fun for you. I personally use my completion percentage as my metric for success because to me it reflects my level of effort an tells me I've got everything I can out of a game I've paid for but again, I know 100% is not obtainable for me but I enjoy watching it improve as I finish games.

My view now is to play the game what every difficulty level i can manage to the credits & consider the game done unless i really enjoy it and what to do everything. My compulsive thing now is collecting games which from other youtubers like Retroghetto & Cayle i am enjoying more (apart from the spending) lol but going around hunting for games & collections is bringing some love back for gaming for me, but each are to their own & do what makes you happy

Im really into getting platinums and i just got slay the spire as my 150th. I love kingdome hearts and i have the 1st and 3rd plat. Is it ok that i dont get the COM plat? I dont feel it's worth it, but it's kind bothering me that i dont have it.sorry, im crazy

@PlatinumBro I realized I had a lot of the enemy cards already and I beat it on proud mode with both sora and riku. I decided to grind and got the card master trophy. I also got 3 sleight left for the trophy

This sort of trophy hunting is just ludicrous to me. I'm a trophy hunter myself...but mostly because of my OCD😂 But I don't choose games for their ease of platinum, I platinum the games I wanna play and are worth my time. I have platinums that took only a few hours, like Life is Strange...but also ones that took 500h+, like Monster Hunter World/Iceborne, or White Knight Chronicles and even MMOs, like FFXIV and PSO2 that took 1kh+😅

Seeing the same stack of games 7 times in a list with a near 100% completion rate just looks ugly, i have done some of these back in 2021but when i realised that more and more were coming i just stopped, i regret those platinums now, i only go for actual games.

Don’t regret your history. I made over 100 Ratalaika games as well but I HAD really fun with that a while ago. Now I stopped because it’s got boring but it’s history of your account. Don’t regret

Decent, insightful vid. I actually feel a bit sorry for these guys, it's clearly an unhealthy, expensive addiction. They probably started off enjoying it, but I imagine it is just a massive chore now.

lol same thing happen in steam with achievements spam games, many indie devs trying to sell their games with gimick to giving an easy achievements, I never thought this practice is happening in PSN trophy too

I think at this point is an addiction. Most of these games are even games. There was once a time I was pulling 15-20 plats a month (hell I think I pulled at least 50 during the 2022 Discord Challenge which was more than double most people) and most of those were Ratalaika or easier indie titles. Now I'm pulling 5-6 plats a month and I'm happy with that.

I think that’s definitely apart of it but also if people just wanna get as high as possible and enjoy the hunt and are competitive I think that’s very understandable as well
