I sat next to Robert Smiths parents at the Adelaide concert in 2000 when they performed this song. Honoured, humbled , cherished memory.

Sometimes it's hard to believe this music was created by man.. You can feel it deep in the depths of your soul.. It takes you somewhere you’ve never been before.

Side by side in silence They pass away the day So comfortable, so habitual And so nothing left to say Nothing left to say Nothing left to say Side by side in silence His thoughts echo round He looks up at the sky She looks down at the ground Stares down at the ground Stares down at the ground Side by side in silence They wish for different worlds She dreams him as a boy And he loves her as a girl Loves her as a girl And side by side in silence Without a single word It's the loudest sound It's the loudest sound It's the loudest sound I ever heard

People talk about love as settling for a person rather than saying I found you and I'm done looking. Do things get dull, does it get boring? Of course it does, but when you reach the deepest levels of love with a person it isnt about the child like passion of a beatles song anymore. Its about missing that person that you loved laying next to you at night and knowing everything is OK when you wake up next to them in the morning. When you find that love, instead of blaming them, remember you aren't so young and exciting yourself either. Even the rock stars and movie gods get divorced.. it's always that egoic fantasy and wandering eye that ruins a good thing
