Robert is one of the most attractive people I’ve ever seen. His mannerisms, humor, expressions, way of speech. He has a delicately sensual way about him, you can hear it in his music too. Total heart throb!
Robert face when she says "gloomy" 😂😂
Robert is naturally funny. This is one of things that makes him so charming.
Always articulate, always gentle in his speech. Long live Robert Smith 😌

Huge respect for slagging the Smiths off when the worship of them was at it's height.

Right with ya - saw them at Duke University, NC for the same tour. My dad drove me and four other friends - all bedecked in black, teased hair and makeup and, patiently waited for the whole show in the parking lot to drive us back to Winston-Salem. Thanks Dad, love you for doing that. 🖤
Had this on VHS decades ago, but never saw this unedited version. Thank you for sharing! BTW I LOVE his voice. SWOOOOON :)
His hair, his soft voice, his charm, his style, he is just amazing 🖤🥀
I'm sure I've read this interview but never seen/heard it. Good to have an interviewer challenging Robert, makes for a interesting conversation. Thanks for uploading.
She’s a good interviewer!
Why am I drooling?
Thank you for posting! I was always looking for an interview with him talking about morrisey 😆 I find Robert Smith so fascinating!! Really appreciate the upload 😊
Lawl! Love the comeback about Lydon "I think HE's whimpy English disco" 🙃 And follow up by describing Lydon and the likes with describing them spot on.

What a great interview, too bad the last part was only audio - thanks so much for posting! 4:56 enjoyed the comment about having a physical deformity “ I have a hump” and squirming in his chair and commenting “ it’s like being in a boat!”

@@TCDB Well it is Illegal here in the U.S. to sell bootlegs, but it wasn't a top priority for the police and these shops were small independent stores. You would NEVER find a bootleg in a major chain music store! Where are you from TCDB? Would you believe that I spent $105 for a bootleg record just to hear Ariel?! I love how Robert called out Morrissey early! He knew
he was gorgeous!!
Robert is soooo correct about The Smiths mainly Morrissey being arrogant !!
Great interview. The hostess actually knows what she is talking about and is asking intelligent questions.
Their early work was a little too new wave for my taste. But when Sports came out in '83, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. He's been compared to Elvis Costello, but I think Huey has a far more bitter, cynical sense of humor.

They are just jealous because they can't write songs like you do and actually sing and you make it sound incredible and you have lots of good songs not just a one hit wonder. Theirs lots of bands that are out there and still haven't made one good song. They still suck.
