This song reminds me of fridays at a job i hated. As soon as I got to work I'd play it on my computer to feel happy, and when 5:30pm hit, id run out and drive 6 hrs to see the girl I was in love with. Although that girl and love are long gone from my life, the happy feelings and memories still remain when I hear this song.

i have been playing this song every Friday for at least a dozen years.............i post it on fb too:) i was ecstatic hearing them play this at their induction to the Rock Hall of Fame in Brooklyn...........it was SURREAL being in the same room!!! they are so loved as a band and you could see the emotion in Robert Smith's face as he accepted award to such love and applause. it is TANGIBLE the love of the fans!!! this song is just so uplifting and special btw i am a dj on the radio and mjusic is a huge part of my life......

Anastasija Zabielina I’ve got a song by The Goo Dolls that makes me sad due to a love that I didn’t know was good. Childhood trauma messed it up for me. I didn’t know how great she was since ive been so used to women who walk all over me. For some reason the song “black balloon” by the Goo Goo Dolls gets me. I'm not a very nostalgic person, but this song is one of the few exceptions that makes me feel super nostalgic and emotional. I don't know what it is. This song is also featured in my favourite game that I'm playing right now, Metal Gear Solid 5. It plays sometimes in the background while walking around a certain platform at your home base, and it makes me feel suuuper emotional for no reason. i remember the first time i heard this song, i was in the car with my family driving home after my brother had graduated highschool and we had just eaten at a diner where i ate some lava cake. I was starting to fall asleep, and the this song came on in the radio. The melodies in the intro i heard while i had my eyes closed and was about to fall asleep made me feel a way i cannot describe. The melodies gave me a wave of some sort of nostalgia type feeling mixed with other feelings that were indescribable. Everytime i hear this song, i still have those feelings. The day i first heard the song in the car was a Thursday too. The next day, friday. I was in love with the fact it was the weekend and id get out of school for the summer with this song stuck in my head.
