I love this song lyrics. They are so pure. It is like when you meet someone so fine and perfect that makes you want to cry, but also live and be better just like they are. It doesn’t necessarily mean the person has perfect looks or has only good qualities, but they are like magic, a magic you can only describe as ‘perfect’. It is sad too, because you know change needs time and experience. What about the hopelessness, when you don’t even know where to start. And by the time you change enough, the person that inspired you may be completely out of reach. That is why this song is timeless. Because we all have felt such insecurities. They are what make us grow. ❤

I used to have really bad social anxiety and when I began getting out of my shell I went through something really difficult with my family and I isolated myself for about a year and my grades suffered aswell as my physical and mental health. This song made me feel like I wasn't alone anymore and it really helped me. Now I can happily say I barely relate to the song anymore and I feel more open and in touch with the people around to where they notice when I'm not around. No matter what you're going through or struggling with you can get through it, have faith in God, have faith in yourself and keep waking up everyday

This... When I was a teen I ordered this CD by mail, had to wait and wait, seemed like an eternity, just wanted this song so badly. My mother wrote a funny poem about that. The CD came and it was the best. Apparently my mother loved it so much too that she bought the album too. 44 yrs old now but still have the poem, and came here to listen with her again, but without her now... RIP mom, I love you and miss you so much, you're so fuckin special 💖

this is my uncles favorite song. he always jokes about how he is a weirdo and makes little digs about himself which no one really notices. i listened to the chorus to this song and i finally understand how he must feel. he has no one to talk to except my parents, still lives with his mum, broke and can’t drive. he hardly sees his daughter because her mum is horrible to him. he even said when he’s with us he does more here within a week than what he would have down with if a year at home. people are always bullying him and he is a sensitive guy but doesn’t show it. the jokes people make about him are what he actually thinks of himself. he thinks he’s a creep and he doesn’t belong. he says he’s a weirdo and doesn’t really know what he’s doing here. i think this shows how much you can tell about a person just by their favorite song

Unfortunately, this happens all to often. I've done it myself and continue to do it. Say you're a bad person, disgusting, fat, stupid, useless, etc. enough times and it starts to feel like your reality. My therapist said it like this. What you say about yourself is how you'll end up feeling. If you can frame things in a positive frame of mind, it can do wonders. I'm stupid because I never remember to do X or Y becomes I forgot to do X and Y this time but next time I'm going to do better. This simple rewording of every negative phrase I think has done wonders for me. I'm by no means "fixed" but it has really helped me understand the power of a positive mindset.

I remember getting absolute CHILLS when the "What the hell am I doing here?" verse came in. This song is like a liquid mixture of self-awareness and acknowledgement of hopelessness, continuously swirling until the song ends. It's like we're having a peek in the unstable mental state of someone, where the end of the song is the end for US, but not for that someone. It's incredibly poetic seriously I love this

Y'know, I like pretending I'm something that I'm not, probably to get away with psychological warfare.

For me it's feeling isolated, feeling like an outsider, an imposter, feeling social anxiety, feeling out of place, but also I feel it's a person desiring someone so beautiful or handsome. But they are so unobtainable. No one really has a perfect body or a perfect soul. It's like standing outside of a crowd and feeling worthless. It's a sad but cleverly written tune.

To me, the song was always about feeling so radically different to people we idolise. It was about the isolation psychology can cause, and the power it has over us; whether it’s insecurity, neurodiversity or any other challenge that deviates us from the world. It was about envy and desire to become what we envy despite being aware of the stark contrast of it.

Literally same. I was in a very depressive state for about 2 or 3 weeks and a half. A lot of things had happened then, like losing a very VERY close friend who felt like a sister to me. she was comfortable holding hands with me, she was comfortable with letting her head rest on my shoulder..etc. I had also moved schools for the second time which made me feel like my heart was ran over by a thousand huge trucks. It hurt. It hurt a lot. All I would do was lay in my room and cry to this song and a bunch of other ones. I related to this song A LOT and I still heavily do. I’m better now, but this song just brings me back to that time. I love this so much, and I still bawl my eyes out to this.

In elementary school, I was a complete loner with no friends; this is why I hate group projects because I don't know how to approach them and since, because of my lack of friends, I always end up being the last student without a group, which forces my teachers to make me join one I am not comfortable with. I remember my mother asking me why I don't bring friends into our home, and I just replied that I'm not friendly. I bagan to build an imaginary companion that follows me everywhere and consoles me on my bad days during those years of my life. I never thought it was strange because I was still a kid at the time. I was continually talking to it in my head, and I imagined it was listening. My classmate once informed me that I'm a weirdo because I'm always alone. It bothers me that I quit envisioning that imaginary acquaintance. I discovered how lonely I was in elementary school all while I started attending high school. Now I'm content because I've found some folks that like and accept me. They are few in number, but they regard me as a close friend.

This is literally Rocket's theme. Hearing it in GOTG3 really hit different rather than listening to it on its own. Just. Wow.

I love this song. It's one of my all time favorites. The lyrics and the music so spectacular!

This song hits hard... both for myself and people I've loved who have felt this way for years. But the words " I don't belong here" are true in more than one sense. We don't belong in that mindset, it's a lie and a hole that will never let us out unless we decide to become who we truely are and love ourselves as equal to those we love.

I'm diagnosed with Tourette Syndrome and i've always felt like the outcast, and the creep, and the weirdo. "I wish I had control" speaks to me on a hundred different levels, seeing I very rarely have control of the things I do or of my body. This song always stands with the Outcasts. Like many I felt alone and judged, its just how life was for some. For me I felt like I have lived as a MC in a visual novel, Yes I am interacting and yes I see what is going on but I have no bearing or worth to others, like I only exist to further the story. This song resonates with those of us who just didn't "feel" Right.
