robert smith sounded like he was 24 instead of 64. 2 and a 1/2 hours of fantastic music including shake dog shake, a thousand hours, Charlotte sometimes and primary. just a great setlist

So sad Vancouver didn’t get this song in the setlist. 11 year old me played this song over and over again on repeat for a solid six months. He sounds amazing. There’s no other bound that sounds better live than The Cure. They actually sound better live, which is insane. Would be for anybody except Robert, this man has been criminally underrated in his contribution to music and his brilliance. I’d have loved to have seen this tonight. Was hoping we’d get this track, but sadly did not. Still, tonight was the best 3.5 hours I’ve had since June 1 1995.

I'd rather think it's easier or Gallup to play it this way instead (because this song was originally pretty demanding on bass).

Siouxsie also has mostly if not all of her songs now in a different and much lower key and still sounds awfully out of tune, chasing the notes like a defective melodyne... Robert on the other hand...

The band is already playing in a lower key. The original is in D, this version has been dropped to A. He sounds perfectly in tune with the new key to me.

This song just immediately breeds complacency and boredom. Just using the chords and melodies of the instruments.. And then an aw f' it attitude. And then Robert starts singing about thousands of wasted hours. Its 😘.

@@MrKosh72 I've nothing against it, but it makes the whole thing sound strange and duller. Robert still sings really well, that's what never changed in The Cure, his voice. I'd rather think it's easier or Gallup to play it this way instead (because this song was originally pretty demanding on bass).

I also have to think if I haven't toyed with a song since 1987 I'd give myself the liberty to fudge with it a bit and explore a different side of it. 35 years is a long time

@@Widthatnut I think the bass patterns are essentially identical when played in A (this version) as in the original key of D. Everything just gets moved down one string.
A song that hasn't been played since 87 is added and all you have to say is "it's in a different key"? Siouxsie also has mostly if not all of her songs now in a different and much lower key and still sounds awfully out of tune, chasing the notes like a defective melodyne... Robert on the other hand...
love a thousand hours but unfortunately robert is singing out of tune. i think band could play the song in a low key and not the original that's very high to his current voice.

The band is already playing in a lower key. The original is in D, this version has been dropped to A. He sounds perfectly in tune with the new key to me.

@@DisjectaMembra in a first audition i thought the key was the original, much for the piano intro, but really is in a low key. when the bass begin is very perceptible
