Awesome. Identifying how cults behave and in the same breath bagatelising or justifying the major Abrahamic religions doing exactly those things.

What things do you see Christians do that fit these CODE standards? I think there are Christian churches who are absolutely cults but on a whole I don’t think your run of the mill Christian church fits the bill. Would be interested to hear your case though.

A cult is any organization that is based on religious veneration or devotion to a god or person. Identifying factors include: -specialized language -worship -claims of special knowledge -claims of ultimate or superior morality -Faith or devotion requirements All of these things are specifically designed to prime the individual and hijack their mind.... And eventually their life as well.

You just described every organised (and most unorganised) religion ever, especially the Abrahamic monotheistic ones. Thank you, finally somebody who gets it.

@@StarlasAiko You're absolutely right. There are certain gray areas such as Buddhism, but yes, all religions are cults by definition.... Especially the big three.

As Tom Wolfe said, a cult is a religion without political power; a religion is a cult with political power.

I am not sure that Tom Wolfe is an authority really on the subject and in my research into the subject all the authorities on the subject see it as much more nuanced than that.

Very interesting….so, is Trump's base today in a cult then? What about if a religious denomination or sect tells their congregation that their beliefs are the one and only true religion that God recognizes and will have a special place in heaven or the only ones that will get to go to heaven first or at all and everyone else is less than your church, denomination, or sect, and therefore looked down upon as stupid? What about if your leader only cherry picks verses from the bible and doesnt preach from the entire bible. Lastly, what about a group who forces others to follow their beliefs even if that person doesnt believe that way or at all and wants more factual concrete evidence in a supreme being first before following a group running on faith only? Are all these things a cult would have within it? Just questioning is all...

Well if trumpers keep things hidden from their own members, ostracize and don’t want people to interact with those who left or disagree, deify their trump, and have excessive control over their members then yes it’s a cult. From my outside view they do deify trump but I don’t see much else of those fitting. I asked if you watched the full thing because the answers to your questions seem pretty clear if you apply what I said.

The word occult has a definition, and that isn't it!!! The word "occult" simply means "hidden." There are "occult" and "esoteric" teachings IN CHRISTIANITY!!!! See, I have God.... but I don't "believe".... I never believed.... I didn't believe, I died for 3½ minutes, and then I knew. And having been a Satanist up until that point... I kinda know that side of the street a little better too. Demonizing everything that isn't in the Bible, is no better than dismissing anything that is! Satanism.... though certainly not healthy, is not a cult... well, maybe that TST is, but they're walkimg strawmen of Satanists. Satanists are fiercely individualistic, while ALL cults are collectivistic by nature. I can give you a thousand genuine arguments against it... but "It's a cult!" is not one of them.... Not by the FBI definition... Not even by yours.
