The Crucifixion (Mark
To most bystanders, the crucifixion of Jesus was just another criminal’s execution. But after the centurion witnessed Christ’s death, he said, “Truly this man was the Son of God” (Mark 15:39). In this sermon, R.C. Sproul brings us to the foot of the cross as he continues his series in the gospel of Mark.

This Good Friday 2024. Sproul teaches this so powerfully that it utterly repels and makes you nearly sick with the appalling and disgusting treatment of Gods Son And by people every bit as recognisable today as those sadists, mockers and indifferent godless beasts we see all aound us today. And were no better. Thank you RC for beautifully teaching and reading the enormity and implications of this...2 millennia on, its still as shocking as it was then. Those who fail to care or learn from what Mark tells us, what Jesus did for us deserve their reward..pray we dont succumb to taking what Jesus did for us all.
Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing.
It was a ram, not a lamb, that Abraham sacrificed. The Lamb came when Jesus came.

WOW... We believe that your breakfast plate has the egg (EXACTLY) in the middle of the plate.... And if it's not, you throw the egg and plate ALL away in the trash can... A (perfectionist) is ALWAYS a Miserable person and not liked by many... We believe that you have a lot of 1st place awards....
Jesus did not shrink from any bit of His punishment. If He could not bear that cross beam, then perhaps his back muscles were so torn apart that there was not enough structure to carry that heavy beam. This is considerable, considering that even people with fractured spines or herniated discs can bear weight on their backs, albeit with intense pain. But if pain is not the limiting factor, then it is purely damage. I have no idea the amount of damage required to make a person unable to bear weight on their back but it would be tremendous. The Erector Spinae would have had to been torn into bits
Abraham did not turn and find a lamb stuck in the bushes on Mt. Moriah. He saw a RAM. Lambs and rams are not the same thing. Abraham's statement that God would provide Himself a lamb when Isaac asked about it was not fulfilled that day. It was fulfilled 2000 years later when Christ died on that same place.
It makes me so angry to see, outside churches or stores, an attractively ornate, fancy, flowery cross. There was nothing beautiful about it. It was a symbol and a place of death, where the Savior was murdered for people who were dead in sins.
