Yes she does. Last season when she first premiered as diana I honestly cringed I thought she was such a gross caricature of her. But I was wrong. Having watched this 1rst part of the final season I can admit I was soo so wrong! I kept forgetting I wasn't really watching Diana as well. She honestly deserves every Emmy, Golden Globe, SAG Award, Critic Award, ect...everything. She embodied The Princess of Wales. She studied, and became her, literally. & the actor who plays dodi must be just as good because I've never cringed so hard watching someone rush a romance & be so misguided and blind😂😂😂 I mean he was actually pathetic to watch I had to look away it was so cringe lmao

She looks so much like her it's almost eerie. She obviously has the physique, but also the way she holds herself, her accent, the little mannerisms, such a great job! And then the outfits that are spot on, making it difficult to remember that this is not actually Diana you're watching.

I've seen interviews where she credits the guidance of a "movement coach," who helped her to notice and emulate Diana's attitudes and gestures, etc. And a voice coach ... Elizabeth said (I think in an interview with Stephen Colbert) that she worked for months on the pitch, enunciation, etc. of Diana's speech. I think she did a stupendous job! I imagine that William and Harry were amazed and taken back in time, remembering their mother as she was portrayed so accurately (and respectfully). I've seen Elizabeth in a few other roles; she's unique every time! A chameleon, so talented!

Elizabeth is amazing! You can tell that she has spent a tremendous effort in research portraying Princess Diana.

She did so well in her role of Diana and if I’m being honest her acting was so good that it had me in tears by the end of it. Edit: wow I didn’t expect this many likes (Iv also never gotten this many likes before so thanks to everyone who has liked this comment)

Obviously Diana’s family will find this painful. but her portrayal of Diana was respectful, honest and sympathetic, she did a great job

Just like in real life, Diana eclipsed everything in regards to the Royal Family. She was a scene stealer and it was amazing how she can transform so perfectly into Diana. I hope she gets some awards for her performance.

The explanation behind the “ghost” scenes was beautiful and so well put. That is an immediate feeling of grief- having a chance to say goodbye and telling the person who has passed all you need to say before they depart.

I was supprised people hated it as much as they did. Im a American who was born after Diana was born so I never really "got" it, but the "ghost" scenes (I didnt see it like a ghost but more like a memory) moved me to tears. Its clearly not like a "haunt" but rather a thought of a person heavy on the mind. @@robedwards6096

exactly what I said to my teen. I’ve only lost a couple of people I’ve been super close to, and I’ve had conversations with them for a long time after they passed.

It’s scary to watch her become Diana to play her to the point on you forgot it’s a portrait of what Diana endured. This is absolutely an award. For the Royal family if watched it will be heart throbbing saddens and grief to see what they did to a beautiful woman who was internally and externally beautiful. Because the World loved her made Charles feel obsolete when they were together she stole the limelight every time and he couldn’t handle it. This is one of the saddest drama that has played out in front of the world. Thank you for bringing her to big screen like never before seen. Queen of hearts ❤️

She played that role brilliantly. Down to Diana’s smile, gestures and elegance ❤️❤️❤️

Best portrayal of Diana that I've seen.

I didn’t get the idea of “peace” at all with dodi and hers relationship. I got another layer of how she was trapped and used by absolutely everyone around her.

I think they would have been very good friends, as long as Dodi could have broken away from his father. No so much a romantic relationship but as someone who understood her situation of being manipulated by those around her. Whether or not they were engaged, who knows...

@@EvelineUKI agree with you. When Dodis father was pushing for marriage we really don’t know how D&D really felt. She had said she wasn’t ready for a husband, I remember her saying that. Mohamed was ruthless in pursuing the aristocratic life. We will never know what transpired between him and Dodi and when he started conducting investigations and giving press conferences after the crash and deaths did he push his son too far which sent them to Paris instead of back to London? Was he the quiet cause and it was thrown at the Royal families feet? We will never know.

She amazing, he voice was spot on. If you close your eyes, you’d think Diana was still here.

Spot on comment! Entertainment. Elizabeth even says “Peters vision” this series is not a documentary as too many people are swept up in.

I literally Forced myself to watch in between tears. She was the best actress ever for Diana. Poor Diana and kids!!!!!

Perfect casting. Outstanding Diana was a very unique person, her speech and gait in particular. Not to mention her beauty. Elizabeth embodied Diana totally. So brilliant. I was prepared to be re-traumatised by Diana's death in this season of The Crown - fortunately the tragedy was handled in a sensitive and sensible way and I have to admit to gaining a small sense of closure. Thank you Peter Morgan and ED.

She was fabulous as Diana. It was like seeing a ghost. The story of Diana towards the end of her life was one of hope & new possibilities as well as a tragic end to a life suspended in time. I’ll never be able to think of her without feeling a sense of sorrow & I didn’t even know her. I can imagine the suffering of those close to her. As someone who lost a sibling I know what it’s like to lose someone dear to you. Rest in peace Diana.

she did everything so beautifully perfect that at a point i could really feel princess diana talking.

She does seem a good choice to play the role of Diana during these years. Think though it would be difficult to be her children viewing a relationship where very little is known and portrayed based on another's piecing together a storyline. Think it wise if they choose not to [view the series]. We can only speculate what that life is like.

I honestly believe the show’s creators & writers did a fantastic job being respectful twards Diana & her beloved Boys. If people would just realize that The Crown was & is a drama loosely based on factual events. I remember back in the 90’s all Diana went thru . Iam the same age as Diana. Just born on the other side of the Pond. ♥️RIP HRH Diana, Princess of Wales. I hope she’s finally at peace now , watching, guiding her adult boys as she did in life. God Bless The Queen of People’s Hearts.

I’ve never been a fan of Diana, but Elizabeth’s portrayal had me even sympathising with what happened to her because even though it’s fictional there were things that they showed that did happen. Elizabeth deserves all the awards for her acting on this one.

Elizabeth is Diana incarnate. It’s obvious she went above and beyond to ensure her portrayal of the late Princess was authentic.

Sorry Kirsten, but Elizabeth is the the definite portrayal of Diana for me. Absolutely gobsmacking !

That scene with charles after her death is just... ❤ And i like Elizabeth's interpretation of it. Charles was the love of Diana's life and she had to tell him how much she loved him before she left him forever.

I held in my crying and ended up with a migraine the next day!

I really wish Diana could have lived - I believe she was beginning to learn how to live & take charge of her life. She would have accomplished even greater things.

This season following the last moments of Diana made me see how she was loved by everybody, even more by the wrong people in a wrong way unfortunately.

Her voice kinda reminds me of another great Australian actress Cate Blanchett

the ghost scene kind of also gave me closure!

The truth is this: Had she lived and returned to the UK those who knew Diana doubt she would've seen Dodi again. He was a Summer fling to make Hasnat Khan jealous. I stopped watching after S4 but has this show portrayed ANY of Diana's many lovers before Dodi?

She was a great Diana

I think the casting of Diana through all of the seasons was best portrayed by Elizabeth. But I do give kudos to all of the actresses in the Crown who did a fantastic job of becoming Diana. Elizabeth did it with such ease, you almost forgot that we were watching a series.

She does such a wonderful portrayal of Diana that it makes me wonder how Harry and Will feel about it. Wouldn't it be great if this inspires them to reconcile their differences.
